Can the party avoid tearing each-other's throat out? Can they successfully complete the dungeon and rid Port Barry of the giant glass octahedron that sits motionless a short way off the docks? Will GM have an aneurysm from it all?
Welcome back to the Nuts RP thread, where new faggots (players) are always welcome and previous faggots interact based increasingly loosely on D&D 3.5e core rules.
This thread begins with Thez completing a marvelous and unplanned concert now that she can cast "Dancing lights!" again, and a large crowd has formed around the square, where both Infernius and Trump appear to be intending to address the crowd, Thez having vacated the impromptu stage with several bouquets of flowers and adoring cheers from the crowd.
She has obscene skill pertaining to "Perform"
>>51838 →I think that Tracy's faggot has been advancing time so relentlessly that I have to declare
somethingor lose the day altogether, even though I'd rather spend this day tracking down the phylacteries instead of waiting for Tracy's faggot to make mining tools
>>51839 →Fine, whatever. Trumpaladin talks to guild leaders and a few members during most of this time
>>51845>lose the day altogetherWhat does that even mean? If your character doesn't act one day, he can on the next day.
>guild leadersThere are guilds?
>>51846Then he loses anything from that day
>guildsWhy wouldn't there be?
>>51845Well, if the party intends to return to the dungeon, Tracy won't have the option of forging mining tools, not yet at least.
>>51846Maybe not as organized as guilds, but tradesmen would organize nonetheless. I suppose they might have actual guilds, I hadn't thought of that.
>>51848What kind of guildsmen?
Any requisitions? Bounties? Monster-slaying requests?
>>51849Like, architects, and metallurgists, and other particular trades that are only valuable as long as fewer people know them.
Curses, last thread missed the record by 11 posts (12 technically).
>>51848Eh, we don't need mining tools any time soon.
Trumpaladin politely thanks the union leaders, businessmen, and blue collar workers, but tells them there is work to be done.
He puts his hand on his sword and heads towards the dungeon
>>51849Yeah. In fact there's a request to kill a shitload of rich creatures an entire fucking temple of evil - conveniently located in the harbor, no need for travel

>>51873Thank you for cedeing.
>>51875I'm writing a speech
>>51875Should i roll for something? Was it not inspiring enough?
>>51877No, that's fine. I was responding to another thread for a moment cuz I thought you were going to continue. From that speech Infernius notices that some of the crowd doesn't seem engaged, largely the wamens, but there is still a large group (~250-300) in attendence.
>>51878Trumpaladin claps at the speech, smiles, and heads towards the podium, thanking Infernius
>>51879"Was me bad at talking?"
>>51873Tracy didn't hear anything after that?
She goes back to the tower to play with her bird.
"My fellow citizens of this truly great city,
A few days ago, we were attacked by hordes of the undead. Their numbers were legion. They were led by Bolshevik senators who sought to live forever through evil means, and they tried to attack Port Barry through the weak points in its gates, through its harbor and sewer system, and through an oversight in the cities spiritual defenses -
a structure in the commercial district. The dead are envious of the living and of the life this great city, and sought to smother it out, and to enslave it for their own ends.
But Port Barry Fought back. Our brave Generals, inspired by the power of Football, kept citizens safe in the stadium, and destroyed hordes at the gate. Our Ghestapo cleared the sewers. Even initiates from Sparentinar – inspired by the call of Football and eager to take up its ways, fought to protect this great city. The monks of the Fight Club – led and trained by our own Thez Preston – in particular fought nobly, holding the line against the monstrosities that came through the planes. Many of those defending gave everything to repulse the hordes - mind, body, and soul. But they died so that their fellow countrymen could live on. For so long as the country lives and prospers, the patriot can never truly die.
One such Patriot, who lives on the prosperity he helped bring to this great city, was our late mayor, Sechs Verseiben, who I had the privilege of meeting and speaking to as he assumed office. His tenure, though a short one, was nevertheless a period of great growth, expansion, liberty, wealth, and order for Port Barry. He lived and died in the service of this city.
The enemy quickly found that we would not quietly surrender nor fade away. Three leaders and countless minions were struck down. I myself smote Ruth Bader Ginsberg from atop her cloud of judicial obfuscation with the powers Great Elway gave to me. The enemy sought to summon an entire temple, to unleash its contents onto the city. But with quick thinking we left them immobilized, and turned the fight to them.
Yet they were not alone in seeking to blindly harm this great city. Unknown rich parties, lulled into a stupor by alcohol and their own arrogance and complacency, bombarded the city. They were quickly and firmly taught to respect the citizenry.
The temple was there after breached, and the enemy made to fear and flee. I have struck down mummy lords and dread wraiths in my crusade to protect Port Barry, and much more work remains before we bring this fight to the former seat of Kefka himself. But we shall, and a new age of glory and security shall dawn on Port Barry, and we’ll find the future brighter than ever.
Elway Bless Port Barry, and thank you all”
>>51880"No, of course not"
\r
>>51880"I think you did fine! Leave it to Trump though, he has a bit more gift of gab." Thez reassures.
>>51881Let me see, Tracy hears from a few that so-and-so has missed a couple shifts at the mill, while a flower vendor who usually makes weekly trips hasn't been seen. Nothing extensive yet.

>>51883"Me just Dont have what hitler had."
*Minotuar sigh*
"Me will be at the station if you need me."
>>51882As Trump's speech issues forth, the citizens are visibly swayed. Their emotions, which were grim and interested in response to Infernius' speech, shift from inspiration, sadness, hope, finally resolving at hopeful determination.
>>51884"What? Where are you going?" she grabs his arm. "Don't be sad, Trump has a way with crowds. Besides, the Gestapo all love and respect you. Its not a competition," she counsels.

We shall rebuild business damaged to bigger and better than ever before. We shall strike back at our foes. And we shall make Port Barry Great, greater than it has ever been!"
Trumpaladin adds and ends, with his arms thrust up
>>51888*sad Minotuar noises*
>still wants to crack the temple like an egg
>>51889Trumpaladin looks out to the Crowd
"I would like to extend a special thanks to our party member Infernius - leader of the Ghestapos - who single handedly defeated an Bolshevik senator - a senator all by himself, can you believe it? Yeah, he's great. One of the nicest people I know too"
>>51889"Yours was good, his was better. The difference? Showmanship," Thez says quoting Batman and Robin, and taking Infernius' arm as he heads to the Gestapo HQ. "We'll be back!" Thez calls to Trump and Tracy (and Torcuil?).
>>51891A few of the Gestapo amongst the crowd nod and smile appreciatively at Infernius, one of whom salutes.
>>51892Idk where the fuck Torcuil is
"I'm in the crafting room still you faggot!"Yep, no fucking idea.
>>51893Oh right. Filly gave Torcuil several sticks, one of which is particularly appealing if he wishes to stick it in the machine.
>>51892*salutes back*

>>51897Wand is already functional?

"Damn it, if you want one fine. Let me see what we need and you can go get it."
Trumpaladin has much more to tell the city. But this is not the appropriate moment, as it is midway in the course of battle, and not at the critical historical moment of Transition.
He now goes among the crowd and talks to mothers, soldiers, workers, businessmen, and union leaders - seeking an equal representation of high and low in the city - and asks them what their concerns are. He reassures them in all instances that they will work on it, and that Port Barry shall prevail, telling of his own exploits where asked
>>51883>mill>flower vendorInterdasting.
>>51899So you told them what they wanted to hear?
>>51901Primarily. And in part Trumpaladin told them what he wanted them to want to hear
>>51902Do you intend on followng through.
*feeds birds*
*clean fluff*
*brushes feathers*
*hugs*
Torc and Snek check the materials they need, then Snek heads to the vault while Torc trys using the staff machine to recharge the olymorph staff
>>51903>>51901>>51899Perhaps "reassured them in all instances that they will work on [fixing the problem]" is a bit strong. There are some problems Elway alone can solve, and are beyond the powers of mortal men
Where a citizen expresses concern about the danger to the town of foriegn threats, Trumpaladin will remind them that Port Barry and its people are strong, and they have already repelled many dangers, pointing to the Generals, Ghestapo, and general militia. And that power is supplemented by the power of the party. He will tell of his own martial accomplishments as appropriate
Where a citizen expresses desire to strike back, Trumpaladin will tell them that the party fully intends to burn the Court City to the ground - with the help of armies - and annex it to the new confederation (which will be talked about later)
Where a citizen expresses concern about crime, Trumpaladin will tell them that the Ghestapo is on it and they need fear no longer, but turn all relevant information over to the relevant authorities. The party can handle it if there be the need.
If a citizen expresses concern about the loss of a loved one, Trumpaladin will tell them of the wonders of ressurection through the power of Elway, and will offer the service if possible. If not possible, he will assure them that the loved one lives on the memories of those he or she affected positively, and that Humans live in large part not in themselves but in how they affect those around them.
If they are concerned about material damage, Trumpaladin will assure them that the party will help to rebuild the city with funds recovered from the enemy. And it will be rebuilt stronger and better than before.
If they are worried about general poverty, Trumpaladin will explain that he intends to open new trade with far away cities that will bring more jobs and wealth to Port Barry - in fact, there should be job openings in Durpistan soon.
if they are worried about the malaise of anomie or depression - the feeling of being lost, he will tell them that though they may feel themselves lost, they are Found by Elway. Trust in Elway, serve him, and you shall find yourself.
Anything else will be dealt with as appropriate

>>51910In conversing with the citizenry, and listening to them, hopefully Trump gets some idea of their concerns, fears, wants, and hopes. You know, besides the fact that they were invaded en mass by scary undead a couple days ago. Or the airship that bombarded the city. Or the scary temple in the harbor. Or the fact that the government of the city has now been entirely decapitated with both Korak and Sechs dead. Or maybe all those things are enough to be concerned about.
Rolling sense motive
>>51939>>51942Ah come on!
>>51944Well, there is a vacuum of power with Sechs gone. The citizens were quite fond of him, and while they don't blame the party for what happened, the loss is still felt.
>>51945Hmmm...
Was there formerly a city council? It seems to me that an organized and constutional government can survive with the executive side of the government decapitated, so long as a legislature or court exists and can handle a lot of the tasks. It may be wise to form one if one does not exist, probably selected from business leaders and representatives of the various portions of the community, and eventually either elected by the city as a while, or by reserving seats for representatives from specific guilds or communities and letting the members of those groups elect the representative. Local knowledge would be very helpful for this...
>>51946Thats a good point, and would be precisely when/why presiding/significant individuals of various trades and guilds would come into play.

>>51948I thought Tracy is taking a nap
>>51945>>51946Shit. How to solve this problem without acknowledging the elephant in the room, and without creating problems and closing opportunites for later? I'll spend some time thinking this one out.
But Trumpaladin definitely collects information from guild/industry leaders and representatives, as well as information about any portions of the Port Barry community that seem distinct, since that information is probably pretty relevant

Tracy stealthily slips through the tower, her expression worsening into a grimace with every step she takes.
She's now carrying a smelly sack of filthy fabric, no bigger than a soccer-ball, and has a few Fluffy towels draped over her shoulder.
>>52063Alright, but just so you know, gnomes probably already have that shit. It will probably explode at some point though.
>>52064>doots politely behind Trump
>>52066"Uh... I think I'll deliver these myself. A bit more personal that way"
*delivers beverages to respective parties*
>>52066Well thats depressing.
>>52066Ah, yes. The gnomes.
Does Torc learn anything about the wand?
>>52069Its a wand of Cure Moderate Wounds. How about that. Torcuil makes a note to stockpile candy in advance of Filly's next visit.
It looks like a cool stick tho.
Tracy silently trots into the Entertron, sadly humming the /mlp/ 4CC anthem as she arrives. After just standing there for a moment, she drops the bag on the ground, and out rolls a severed head too scarred to be identifiable.
>>52070You can bet your ass Torc is gonaa stockpile candy.
In the meantime, a subject I've asked a couple times but I don't believe I've recieved an answer on.
Could I make Snek a ranger, choose the ranged combat specialization and apply that to the guns?
>>52072Can you make me a necklace of ears?
>>52073Want to go to cardishore or whatever the gnome town is called?
>>52075Are you bored with the game?
>>52076No,but the game isnt just kill shit in a dungeon.
>>52077Can we do that first though?
>>52073Oh, yes of course. That makes even more sense than rogue when I think about it.
>GM gets mental image of Snek Tarzan swinging through the trees with the gun in his mouth, using a tooth to pull the trigger. With each swing, he fires off a shot,....
>>52078I suppose, the automobile is already invented anyway.
>Googling "Snake Ranger" gave... strange results
I'll still monitor the thread, but I have some stuff to do. I'll be streaming the rest of Samurai Jack (last 4 eps) in the background and then probably the MLP movie if anyone wants to join.
https://www.rabb.it/ninjas
>>52080Kek
>>52079Yay
>>52075Considering this dungeon crawling is going nowhere fast? Sure
>>52082Thats real fucking disgusting.
>>52083Can you post when the movie starts?
I would watch Samurai Jack, but I want to start from the beginning
>>52086Probably about an hour from now
Tracy kicks the head like a soccerball, and watches it ricochet around the room, before throwing it back in her bag.
We going to play tonight, or are you all watching the superbowl?
Gonna start the movie when u get in Torcuil (and anyone else who monitors these threads and is bored/causally unoccupied)
>>52091I don't watch it either.
I would watch if the Denver Broncos were in the superbowl
>>52089Why would i watch the negro football league?
>>52099Srsly. Corporate propoganda and social engineering, false tribalism, etc., lefty messages in the commercials and lots of obscenely well-paid guys who should be leading in the military forces imo
>>52099Just being considerate
>>52101Ikr.
It's a machine of false football.
>>52101If Donald Trump's Anti-Trust lawsuit against the MSN on behalf of the American Football League has succeeded, we'd have much better football
>>52098Stopped working for me, for some reason..
>>52105Its still there, idk
How ling would it take to make/charge a Wand of True Strike?
>>52093Same
You guys still watching the movie?
Tracy, in Nightmare form, has a carry 612 pounds as a light load. Can she still use Tumble while Brad is riding her, or is he still too heavy to Tumble efficiently while carrying?
>>52111Depends on his riding skill
>>52112He has 10 ranks, and the magick shoes give him an additional 10 while he's riding her.
>>52113Then yeah, I'd allow it with a simple riding check
Tracy grinds in the Entertron
"What if we make carriages that dont need horses to go?"
>>52118Oh, I get it
>stick head in entertron>body regenerates>kill new person>regenerates again>kill again>repeat>>52117"You mean cars? We had tons of those in Scotland."
>>52119GM explicitly said we couldn't get moar XP for killing someone twice.
>>52120That's right, holodeck gives feats.
>>52122He did, didn't he
>>52121"Yeah, large metal carriages that moved by an engine."
>>52123"Yes me have same idea out of nowhere! Weird."
>>52117"Back at home, we just make dropouts do it."
>>52124>>52123"Torc,we make one?"
Make the Ghost Chariot first.
>>52125"Yeah they do same thing in germaneigh."
>>52124>>52126"Sure, we had a
lot of cool stuff where I'm from. I mainly knew how the stuff worked in general, but I was fucked when it came to specifics"
>>52128"There are just some colts in the neighborhood who never make anything of themselves..." Tracy says, letting out a sigh.
>>52111Horse acrobat is best acrobat.
>>52117"Now why would you ever want to get rid of the horse?"
>>52119"How'd that Nicola Sturgeon work out for ya?"
>>52124"Uh huh"
>>52132>riderless blackReeeee
>>52129"What,if we make electronic devices were we role play?"
>>52134That a painting of a horse at the training farm. They make them jump without riders while training, to prove they're intelligent enough to do it on their own.
>>52137Thats cool as fuck.
>>52138Lipizzaners are horse masterrace.
>tfw you can use Tumble instead of perform
>>52138"See? Now can your horse-less carriage do that? I didn't think so"
>>52140I already maxed-out Tumble: make a Handle Animal check to train Tracy for the general purpose of Performance, so that they can draw crowds together.
>>52139Its like the horses in oblivion but in real life.
>>52140"We add system of hydrologic lifting."
>>52141>Tracy is trained as a performing animalI'm sorry, what?

and +1 luck from the stone

>>52149Oh yeah! Extraordinary performance, baby!
Who needs Charisma, when you've got Dex?
[acrobatic hoers noises]
Port Barry is a fairly prosperous city, right?
>>52152It's more prosperous now than a few months ago, but it started in a not-so-great position
>>52153It should be prosperous enough to earn the characters a reputation with more performances though.
>20: Great performance. In a prosperous city, you can earn 3d10 sp/day. In time, you may be invited to join a professional troupe and may develop a regional reputation.>25: Memorable performance. In a prosperous city, you can earn 3d6 gp/day. In time, you may draw attention from distant potential patrons, or even from extraplanar beings.Good for leadership, plot development, and anything else that deals with reputation.
>>52154That's over time though.
With routine performances, you can earn quite the reputation.
>>52138Horses in general are cool as fuck.

Are we still crawling tonight?
Alright. Later than anticipated, but I'm here. I'll keep the room open cuz PM's, but I'm pretty much ready to get started

>>52180*Kisses back slobbering horsey*
*Giddies up*
>>52178Alright, so Tracy is an acrobat nao. Other than that, Torcuil has a new stick, Trump wowed the crowd, Thez and Infernius talked to the Gestapo and learned that the knee-grows are reported to live on a continent way in the north-east.
It looks like Infernius isn't here though...
>>52183*continues riding horse*
>>52184*hasn't stopped bucking intensely*
Have an updated character sheet if you guys like taking notes.
So are we gonna do anything?
>>52185*slaps horse rump*
>>52186Dunno. So to summarize, the Wand machine tells you what to make the wand out of for the particular type of wand and makes it for you, and then gives bonuses to charging. It will also tell you how many charges remain.
>>52185*plot oscillates hypnotically*
>>52188That makes sense.
Torc walks out to find the rest of the party, sees Tracy and Trump, and runs back inside.
>>52189*Is entranced by the unoriginality of the images displayed on horse flank*
"Uh, Yuri Orlov was it?"
>>52191Kek
"Like you haven't seen us before!"
>>52188How did the town like Brad and Tracy's Performance?
>>52191That makes sense.
Thez and Infernius also learn that the knee-grows do not often venture outside their continent, as they are not well regarded outside their own culture.
>>52194What's Tracy's Dex and Perform?
>>52193"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH'
>>52195She was using Tumble, in place of perform:
>You can also tumble to entertain an audience (as though using the Perform skill). Her Dex is 19, and she has 17 ranks in Tumble.
>>52197I see. You can also apply both skills to a comprehesive performance btw.
"My Impropmptu concerts get a combined +63, when I cast "Dancing Lights!" Thez exclaims enthusiastically.
>>52199"Reeeee! I only have a +35 on Diplomacy"
*Still humping horsey*
>>52199Would there be ever a case where Spellcraft and Arcane Knowledge would both be used for a check?
That +39 bonus would be amazing
>>52201Yes, spell creation
*Offers the last bit of juice he can possibly muster, and gives it to the ravenous horse*
"Okay, we can clear out the dungeon now"
[1d20+39 = 47]>>52202Oh, you mean like:
Torc tries to make a spell that makes a target use the weapon in their hand against themselvesIs that how it works?
>>52204The "stop stabbing yourself" spell?
>>52198I know she had at least 5 in Dance; but I don't have my character sheet to remember how many she put in Acting...
"Bet you never carried your husband on your back while

>>52200>Implying Diplomacy can amass/entertain crowdsYou can make a Ride check to use your Prancing Pastel Periwinkle Pony to draw crowds for you, to bring them in long enough to make a speech, before making the Diplomacy check to speak to people who arrive.

>>52205Kek this
>inb4 the party opens a traveling circus act
>>52206Oh I'm not here to entertain

>>52297I haven't. ^_^
>>52298Trumpaladin should probably quit drinking covfefe

>>52302Infernius' question sets her into a more intense fit of giggles. "I... have no idea," she squeezes out, sipping occasionally from her covfefe.

>>52321TBH, Theurge was an excuse for his memes to work for clerical spells.
>>52322This is what I'm thinking. Maybe not the statistics and the exact details, but if Infernius wants to put a couple
thousand germans into his "past life bracket" from which he might have residual memory and disposition, I'm okay with it.
Spoiler alert, the next adversary the party faced was going to be "blacks",... basically Wights except augmented to be a legit threat
>>52325Reeeee no spoilers!
>>52325>WightsWights are spoopy asf.Winterwights and Lavawights are even cooler.
Also, I'll admit that its been several years since I saw such a documentary - might even have been this one or parts of - on account of the purveysive feeling of despair that it invokes. I knew all about Dresden, the behavior of the Soviets toward civilians, but every time I watch these docus I am impressed with the vast and nigh-infinite level of scope and detail that is behind the truth and the obfuscation of it. That Germany and the Nazis 'enjoy' the infamy and contempt that is rightfully visited on the allies and most especially the soviets - and that this disinformation continues day by day, with every virtue signalled re-affirmation of "muh death camps" and "6 gorrilion" - is enervating to the core.

As far as level loss, I've been thinking about it. I think it would be silly to lose more than one level per "session" (meaning, -1 level at the end of the temple). Outside of a dramatic magical effect, it seems that any more at the same time would cause further consequences. Now the rules for level loss (as though it WERE a magical effect) would put the character at 1/2 way to their next level. So, if Thez lost 1 level of Fighter, she would be 47th level, 1/2 way toward 48th.
This capacity would also lend its self toward a more gradual replacement of levels, rather than "cutting a hand off and waiting for it to grow back", metaphorically speaking.

The question is, would he use such a power for for something like that?

>>52718If it didn't happen, then Thez wouldn't have had pity sex with Infernius that night. Which I believe is the sex that got her pregnant. So Adolphina Preston would not exist, although thez probably would have gotten pregnant later anyways. Tracy would have never coerced brad into proposing to her. So Brad would be single, and probably would have progressed further down Operation Waifu as originally intended, which means Slovenia would be pretty much a girlfriend. Infernius would have never gone down the darth path - probably. There would be no mission to save infernius - no cool gear, no raid of the court city. Possibly that means the court city would never have attacked

Oh, that was mostly shitposting. Trump made a joke about the succubus-pony draining his energy through sex, so I was humoring him.
It was never really stated whether or not ponies and aged differently (I mentioned "pony years" in the any nest, but wasn't really serious), so I just made an ironic joke to semi-settle that.
It probably won't have any actual consequences, unless…
Tracy's Mobility training should be done by now, right? She's been at it in a while, even if she's been interrupted a bit.
>>52833Assuming Tracy has the Dodge feat, yes

>>52846Nope, just polymorph. The first charge of baleful was to turn a rock into gold, and the second turned the 3 rats into gold statues. Alas, those statues, one can only wonder where they have wandered off to,....
>>52847I thought we liquidated them or did something with them?
>>52848I'm pretty sure Thez requisitioned one for display in the Tower, but naturally Darkie and co ran off with it.
"What? That thing was worth over 2000gp!"
>>52848Nah, that'd be gay. Polymorph spells of any kind normally couldn't create materials of intrinsic value.
The pirates or whoever who took them probably loaded them onto their ships only to realize that they were gold-painted lead: even as statues, they were swindlers.
>>52849.. Unless I'm mistaken...
>>52846>>52847So could Snek, as a familiar, recharge the Polymorph spells for Torc with his touch-delivering ability?

I had intended that it present nominal-moderate difficulty, while also including a bunch of plot twists pertaining to the world. Unfortunately, I can't force the party to actually complete it without railroading. And so.
<BOOOOOOOOOOOM> with an earth-shattering, concussive sound-wave, the temple explodes. As debris from the temple falls all along the dock-side (no Tracy, you have more than enough glassteel bits, you can't have more) a whispering voice issues forth.

Up until this point, the armies you've fought been almost entirely composed of enemies your class is specialized against. Don't get butthurt just because of a plot twist to shake things up. There will be plenty of new places with things to kill and loot to steal.
I've been wanting to go back to Cardishore for months now.
>>52874That's not why you want to go there
TBH, the main reason the temple exploded is because as a pressing "adversary/obstacle", I got a little tired of the degree of nonchalance the party affected to it. This is/was a sinister element, literally on their doorstep, which the party seemed totally content to treat as an abandoned building to be scrapped and resourced. In reality, the contents of the temple were vastly more than sufficient to wipe the party out outright, depending on how it was role-played. Heck, several rooms were just a couple dice rolls away from death and dismemberment. In spite of this, the degree of "meh, when we get to it" kinda ruined it for me.
Additionally, I am a little irritated at the degree of vast research and investigation that the party is perfectly (and evidently) capable of doing, only for me to have to correct or weigh in on very basic details and issues, simply because that same due diligence was not applied. No offense, but Tracy is a perfect example of this, being far more fixated on what pretty-shiny could be had, rather than maximizing the pretty shinies (abilites AND swag) that has already been given. Trump has yet to have a moment with Vandereim. Tracy - the master of blades - has not once even bothered to figure out the correct usage of Korak's sword. I could go on.
>>52875Yeah, I also want to retrieve Tracy's knife collection, and stab some warm-blooded creatures.
>>52876I guess you're right about all that..

>>52893>In particular, I'm contemplating a prohibition on ridiculously-exhaustive sex scenes during critical hours (namely, weekends)Please do
>>52894>>52896I knew there was something off about it.
>>52894>>52896I don't want players to be sorry, it was poorly implemented on my part. What I do advise and request is that more attention be paid to the character's disposition, and less attention be to their faggot's. Yes, the faggot determines what the character does, but the character is the one who can die or experience consequences. I mean I could have had Thez maintain a vigil over the temple, as though it was something that could blow up at any time, or could possess numerous high-level spellcasters, but that would have been railroading.
>>52898I suggest adding some railroading and mix it with the sandbox.

Yeah. I've been waiting to reveal that shit for months now.
>>52903Oh shit..!
I was wondering when keeping his corpse was gonna' bite me in the ass..*checks closet and sifts through skeletons to see if he's still there*

>>52905His bits are still there
>>52907Tracy breaths a sigh of relief, having confirmed that her favorite corpse is still intact.
For the record, I had thought that this would have been revealed in the Banquet Nuts thread (hence the OP image)
>>52909>Banquet NutsJee, that was like 20 nuts ago.
>>52906Fucking magecucks!!
>>52911>is a mageBut yes, mages are generally pussies that are always trying to cheat death in one way or another
>*Death-chan kisses Torcuil on the cheek*
>>52910Yeah, I know. I thought it was going to be revealed then, and then again during court city, and again with the temple.
So to summarize (though little has
actually happened, but now the characters realize they're not as cushy as they may have thought):
Kefka is alive somehow. Consequently, the Spartan contingent desires to relay with command. The gnomes (good call) can be inquired about the airship, Cardishore is back on the table so to speak, and there are a variety of other cities and nation-states that are now within reach (cuz airship).
>>52912Im not a mage, im a cleric.
>>52913I was expecting it, but didn't know when it would happen.
>>52911Pretty sure a lot of gods can resurrect after time so long as they still have worshipers, or certain aspects of their portfolio remain as part of the universe.
>>52915Hmmm difficult if true.
>>52915Actually, I'm glad those necromancers didn't get their hands on any part of Kefka's body. That could've been uber-spooky apocalypse-tier..
*hides precious body-parts*
>>52916If Kefka's powers were rooted deeply enough in this world, he might be good as immortal.
We still don't know just how power he is as a mage or a deity.

>>52920>>52912It's not a god. Just a mage. A Mage like few others, to be sure, but the difference matters
>>52921You don't necessarily have to completely kill something to get XP from it. You can gain experience from removing the threat of an encounter, if you role-play it well enough.
Look on the bright side, we'll get to fight them both again at full or even heightened strength, so you'll have a chance to earn that XP seriously.

>>52957"How do you find Tracy? Neither of us are as fast as her and we don't have the ability to find her while she's hiding. Fae is fast enough, she can spot and listen as well. She can track her scent. That might work. Torcuil could scry on Tracy. I'm mostly just worried about her doing harm.
If she's coming back for anything, it's those birds. She loves those more than pretty much anything. Except crime and crafting I guess.
That fucking dragon lives because
Torcuil and Thez are sweet on her. Lenos only found out she existed much later."

Then, once that us destroyed, we quickly attack the enemy's territory while they are disorganzied and before they can rebuild their forces. strikingly few ever achieve it. What is more, the few people who are known to have auditioned at Cardishore (and presumably did not pass) never return to their former lives. What happens to them or where they go is not known.
>>53060e_e I accept this cute
Okkay. So what would have happened is had the party proceeded down the long staircase, they would have found themselves in a large open room, too dark to see the exterior walls. Quick jump cut-to, they would have been thoroughly BTFO by Kefka and the leaders of the 7 factions. Who are the 7 factions? Perhaps the party will learn who they are. They would
have learned who they are, but they also would have gotten blown the fuck up in the process (its a TRAP!).
Luckily for the party, the character's willingness to engage in foolishness and other such outlasted the patience of the 7 Factions, and so they just blew the building up anyway. Desu, I'm glad they did because I hadn't accounted for Snek, and since Torcuil was carrying the Staff of Power, it is guaranteed to have obliterated everyone in the party, disregarding any preventative measures (magic, etc.).
So how about that, the party pissing GM off landed them in the most favorable possible outcome. Don't think that will work a second time tho.
Pic mostly unrelated
>>53053Meant to quote this one. e_e
>>53125OH YEAH THE STAFF OF POWER
Lets see, I think Torc has never actually used that one. So, upon breaking it would release: one magic missle, one ray of enfeeblement, one continual flame, one levotate, one lightning bolt, one fireball, two cones of cold, two hold monsters, two walls of force, and two globes of invulnerablilty. Holy shit, not too mention whoever broke it has a 50% chance of dieing, or going to another planeI'm glad I have a natrual tentancy to piss everyone off, and that I actually broke that staff when you told me not too.

>>53130>Would also like to see some enemies of varying alignmentYou don't like it when you're unable to use your main class feature against enemies, so do you think I'd like it when my way of dealing extra damage, much of the damage from the sword, a number of protective spells, and my way of detecting enemies is completely ineffective? Diversifying the alignment of enemies may allow for more diplomacy and more of trying to talk the enemy down (the only other thing my character is good at) which would be fun, but otherwise, pic
>>53131As long as I still have this smiting ability, I'd like to use it some time. Besides, a story where the goof vs. evil dialogue is too clear little bit bland. I prefer stories with drama and tough decisions, where several opposing factions, all just in their own conflicting motives, are forced to tragically clash against each other, like the Trojan War.
Besides, it's not always clear who an enemy or an ally is just because of their alignment. I just want a more diverse pool of stab-able NPCs on the table.
>>53132You mean your once a day smite that can deal three points of damage and add +2 to the attack roll? I'm willing to bet your sneak attack damage means more to you. I still am more sorry to lose the 4 times a day, +17 damage and +5 attack uses of Smite evil, besides the +2 attack and +2 damage on the sword, possibly another 2d6 damage on the sword, and spells like Dispel Evil.
Yeah yeah yeah, in the real world, morality is a social construct created by tribes and internalized by individuals to become a deep emotional need, and one tribe's sacred and good is another tribe's profane and evil, so every one who acts is fully convinced that they are serviving the cause of good. But fuck the real world, give me high fantasy. In High Fantasy, good and evil, law and chaos are cosmic scale factions and ideologies, where you rarely have to wonder who is on the right
If I wanted a world full of tragedy, where there is no right answer, and where you can never be sure you've done good or that there is any good to do, where there is no greater cosmic purpose, I'd pay attention to the Real World. Fuck the real world. Give me a universe where I can look at something and say "we smite this" and look at another thing and say "we protect this." I love alignment being a good way to guess whether or not someone is likely to keep or violate the NAP.
>>53132>tough decisionsThen why be involved in the situation at all if there's no clear benefit to your being there? Lord knows we have enough difficulty motivating the characters to do things as it is. You're playing the group information gatherer, the
only character with the skills to actually do it, yet you refuse to have her communicate information 'cause "she isn't motivated." Trumpaladin has definitely sat out battles when morality is gray. It'll only get worse if gray becomes the standard.
I'll get more than enough of though decisions when I finally get a job as a prosecutor. I've seen more than enough of them just through my exposure to that career
>Tragic clashThen what is the point of the characters being there if they can't do anything that makes a difference, because no outcome is good? Again, if I wanted a world where making a positive difference were not possible, I would pay attention to the real world. And I don't.
The Illiad is run to read, I agree. It is not fun to roleplay or live. I'd prefer Star Wars
\r
>>53127>>53125I want to inspire enough men to crush (international?)Jewry.
>>53134>why be involved in the situation at all if there's no clear benefit to your being there? You don't choose to be involved in situations. Situations just happen.
I like complex, dramatic circumstances (that
don't occur through metafaggotry), where there may be good or bad consequences on either side of the issue.
>what is the point of the characters being there if they can't do anything that makes a difference, because no outcome is good? It's not a proper tragedy if you don't learn something from it in the aftermath. Your decisions when circumstances are hazy define your views and values as a character. Anyone can make a decision when circumstances are clear, but when situations become convoluted, that's where the real character-development occurs.
>Trumpaladin has definitely sat out battles when morality is grayYou have that Phylactery of Faithfulness: you won't fall without realizing it.
>SmiteIt's not the damage, it's the concept: I wanna own the role as long as I have it
(might just toss the levels if I see a better development plan, so that's a bit gray)Poisons, Smiting, Sneak attacks: overall I built a character capable of doing bad things to good people, if they get in the way of what she's aiming for when necessary.
>alignment being a good way to guess whether or not someone is likely to keep or violate the NAPAlignment is not a sure-kill method to know if a character will always be on your side. Good characters have conflicts of interest too.
>>53125Also id like to go to space.
>>53137Finish-off the Earth Jews first. Better not to leave the job unfinished.
>>53136>Damage doesn't matterWell it fucking does to me when the entire mechanic is centered around combat and my character is nerfed in it, because the entire class is designed around facing evil opponents.
And if your whole issue is role play, well damn it, I'm roleplaying a Crusader. So yeah, evil enemies are better
>if they get in the way of what she's aiming for when necessaryWhat the hell is your character aiming for? Aside from being your tool to gain more items and powers for combat you don't actually have an interest in?
>Not a proper TragedyTragedy is fun to read and watch. Why the hell would you want to live or play it?
>You don't choose to be involved in situations. Situations just happenThe reason I can't chose what happens to me in life is because the only alternative to being flung around by circumstance is Suicide. A game is about taking power over your character and circumstance
>>53137Why is space so much more interesting to you than the hordes of villains on the same planet? Do you think a different planet might be less boring to you? If you're bored by this planet, why would a different one be less boring to you?
>>53128Yes, vandereim would also have been kill. Uatchit would not have died, but the figurine would have been destroyed, along with the new and untested goat figurines.
>>53131Relax, I'm looking to include ideas; the excluding of ideas will come later.
>>53134Noted
>>53139>>53138Niggers did you not read this ?
>>53135
>>53136>you won't fall without realizing itNo, the problem is
why the hell am I doing this in the first place. A motivation to actually act, not a fear of being nerfed more. Not that falling matters as much if enemies are not evil aligned, because most of the powers pertain to evil foes anyways
>>53139>when the entire mechanic is centered around combat and my character is nerfed in itM8, you don't always have to be the one killing. My character fights best off of the battlefield anyway: I wanna murder enemies behind the scenes, when their pants are down.
>>53140I'd like more opportunities to steal things from NPCs.
>>53145You want to be a nigger is what you want. There is nothing worth taking from low level NPCs
>>53146I want to steal things because that's what my character is good at. If I'm going to be a thief, I want to get the chance to steal things.
>There is nothing worth taking from low level NPCsThat's why I hope to find some higher-level NPCs with deep pockets, or vaults to rob.
>>53147Exactly. You wish to be a nigger. Just killing and sealing from low level NPCs because... Well, there is no reason. It's not taking the world or the campaign seriously at all, because you think you can just go around destroying parts of it with impunity. I've played with people who do this, and it pisses me off to no end
>>53149I'm playing a NE thief: I'll steal anything I can get away with, and murder anyone I need to do it.
>>53150There's no deep need for you to play as nigger. People who do that are asshole players who show a contempt for the world
>>53149Could you like,... not for just one second?
>>53127>exploration>>53130>MLP>>53135>crush the jewnice pali
>>53145>jacking shit>>53146Would Trump have the same objections if it involved stealing from ppl who stole from the party first?
>>53151My character is a psychopathic killer on some days, and a boorish thug on others. She's usually more interested in the acts she commits rather than the goals they help her attain, and her goals tend to be short-term wants.
tl;dr: bad character does bad things because she's bad.
>>53145Yes, it's why I hate your character, and the fact that character is the only one you want to play is one of many reasons I don't like you
\r
>>53153I guess stealing from characters who stole from you is still stealing, but it doesn't really feel as malevolent.
>>53155>Tracy isn't a psychopathHow would
you play her?
No response from Trump forthcoming, I can state with relative certainty that I can accommodate both Trump and Tracy, as well as Infernius, and Torcuil (him less immediately, but more fully over time), and Thez for that matter with one of several plans/ventures that I've otherwise shelved because of what was habbening at the time.
>>53156>stealing from characters who stole from you is still stealingHeroes never steal anon. It's called civil asset forfeiture
>>53153>Would Trump have the same objections if it involved stealing from ppl who stole from the party first? You mean like the Drow or the Court City people? Hell no. Fuck those guys
>>53135I definitely wouldn't word it this way, but that's basically the same as my goal here
>>53157I probably wouldn't play Tracy in a heroic campaign. This "kill people who are weaker than you and non-threatening, and take the tiny amount of money you don't need" thing is fine for a Grand Theft Auto:Sword Coast campaign, and that's a valid kind of campaign to run. But I definitely don't want to play that campaign, and it also it's the way this campaign has developed thus far,
especially after the most recent changes.
But to play Tracy as an anti-hero, I'd make her the queen or protector of /mlp/ against shitposters, yesturdy, moot, glimmerniggers, aerolite, and rivals like Ponychan
>>53158>Torcuil (him less immediately, but more fully over time)Yay, I'm sick of sitting around port barry waiting for threats to come to us
>>53159>TIL my charm potions where "civil asset forfeiture"-ed
>>53159>Fuck those guysHuzzah!
>>53159>civil asset forfeitureMeh. Stealing is stealing to me.
>>53162Anon, I'm not sure you understand how good and evil work. Good people do not steal. My character is good. So if he takes a possession of another with out that person's consent and with the intent to permanently deprive, clearly he must be doing something other than stealing.
Just as arresting is not kidnapping, taxation is not a protection racket, the death penalty is not murder, the draft is not slavery, and campaign donations are not bribes, neither can the proper authorities ever steal
>>53159Why are you afraid to speak the truth?
>>53163>if he takes a possession of another with out that person's consent and with the intent to permanently deprive, clearly he must be doing something other than stealingWat?
>>53163What? So good is authoritarians and evil is anarchists viewpoints?
>>53165Pic related
I hope
>>53165I was just repeating the legal definition of larceny as defined in the model penal code
yes, I made an A in first-year criminal lawLarceny is the 1. trespassery (non-consensual) 2. taking 3. of property 4. belonging to another 5. with the intent to permanently deprive
So I was being ironic, because just because I fully intend to play a black and white character, doesn't mean I don't intend to be ironic about it
>>53166It's a little more complex then that, but basically yes
>>53166Thats a bit of a broad generalization. It would be more accurate to say that Authority (as in competence) is good. I don't contest that there are exceptions - especially in real-world implementation - but that's the principle.
>>53168Well, the definition of "authority" is "power we are willing to obey and don't want to rebel against," so yeah it's kind of tautological that authority is good power
>>53167>was being ironicOh, okay then...
>>53169I make that distinction on personal grounds, as I inhabit many social, professional, and economic hierarchies that are predicated in some cases on (as I say, "legitimate") authority, and in other cases on cronyism, nepotism, and a variety of other categories that technically and literally stand in opposition to a true competence hierarchy.
>>53168No no no, I meant it as the view points.
Example: Taxation
Heavy authoritarion: Taxation is okay and not theft
Anarchist: Taxation is 100% theft
Anyway, Torc asks Death an intresting question.
"Hey Death, can you keep people from reviving if you wanted too?"
>>53166This.
I interpret the spectrum of Good to be "helping people" and evil to be "hurting people". At the same time, Law would be "following/respecting authority", and chaos would be "defying authority".
Just because you appeal to a higher authority than yourself doesn't change the moral nature of your action. Even if your action isn't ebil, being lawful doesn't make it good.
>>53169>authority is good powerI disagree. Authority isn't necessarily a power you're "willing" to obey. Authority can be held by extremely evil people. Even if the king is a kike, he's still king, and thus has authority under the laws of that land.
Just because you don't agree with an authority doesn't make it any less legitimate either. Likewise, being good doesn't give you legitimate authority to do as you please, because laws are still laws, even if they're evil, twisted, disgusting laws. It's fine to break laws in the name of good, but you're still breaking the law, regardless of how noble your intentions are.
>>53173Hey, thats how I interpret it too.
Lawful: I will not break the rules
Chaotic: I will break the rules if I want
Good: I will save the puppy
Netrual: I will not go out of my way to save the puppy
Evil: I will make sure the puppy isn't saved
>>53171I live in nothing but hierarchies it feels like. I have a very hobbesian view about authority. That is, it flows from power, and not the other way around. It's almost always in your interest to obey, because if someone has power, that means they have the power to hurt you if you displease them, but also to give you what you want if you please them.
>>53173Eh. I never said I agreed with the Lockean view of authority.
>Authority isn't necessarily a power you're "willing" to obeyWell obviously it's a power that someone is willing to obey, otherwise the king couldn't have power. So if your point is that authority can be authority to some but not to others, I think you're over looking that
>>53172You're asking me to specify a generalized concept that spans a multitude of ideologies and mythologies. If you insist on it, I'm going to favor the depicted dynamic of Piers Anthony's "On a Pale Horse".
>>53174I disagree with that categorization. Give me a minute to articulate
>>53175Well yeah, that's Law (of Power) #1 - Never Outshine the Master
I would divide the ideas as follows:
Good - I will save the puppy, because its the right thing to do
Neutral - I may save the puppy, depending on the circumstances
Evil - I will save the puppy if it is in my best interest, or I will let it die, likewise
>>53175>obviously it's a power that someone is willing to obeyOr the person making those rules could just be very, very powerful: powerful enough to oppress the public.
>>53176>Piers Anthony's "On a Pale Horse".[keks in pale horse]
>>53178Individuals never have that much power out of their own talents outside of Fantasy literature. Humans are far more equal than that. They always rely on hundreds of thousands or millions of other human beings willing to execute their will
>>53179Right, that.
"No, who can and cannot be revived is outside my purview. Legitimately, my role and capacity is as something of a manifold, weighing and measuring the soul and making determinations as to which outer plane the soul retires to," Death says to Torcuil.
>>53180>outside of Fantasy literatureThis is fantasy though.
>They always rely on hundreds of thousands or millions of other human beings willing to execute their willYeah, but those individuals could just as easily be motivated by their own self-interests and have little respect for the system itself.
>>53181Would Torc have been perma-killed if he failed to beat the wraith?
>>53182>just as easily be motivated by their own self-interests and have little respect for the system itselfStill counts as others doing thy bidding
>This is fantasyI was talking about outside of this RPG, but even here, there's pretty clearly several groups with aligned interests giving the big bad a hell of a lot more power than he could have on his own

>>53410"I don't know... I guess look for allies? We can't do this alone"

>>53443Fine, she stabbed him in the stomach right as he was disappearing.

"Whatever..."
Trumpaladin gets up and slouches off, away
>>53444To be fair, I never said it was Torc either
>>53447That's not how the phrase "to be fair" works
Tracy goes to the airship.
"Hey Torc, could you help me charge this wand?"

>>53528There's only so much discussion that can occur in a single day. The current discussion seems to be that the game be on standby for the time being, with the potential for irrelevant shitposting. But, it's only been a day, so who knows.

>>53538I thought The Game was supposed to be on hiatus for this week?
Tracy is currently dragging a very large wagon alone on a trail through the mountains.

>>53547Perhaps, but its still ponies
>>53548I'd rather not, desu.
So, is The Game ready for this week? I want to play.
This thread is cripplingly long.
>>53549There's a few details that need addressing yet, I can give you a rundown if you'll stop in and chat with Ben
>>53554So what's she doing with the wagon? Don't say pulling it.
>>53555She's taking her birds to visit their father for the weekend.
*fluffy heads poke out of the windows on either side of the padded wagon*
"CHEEP!"
"CHEEP?"
>>53556>>53557Big fuggin wagon. Pulled by a wee pastel pony. Its allowed, but it also presents a funny image
>>53558I left it as implied that she was regular warhorse sized. It's only a 15 DC check to assume hybrid shape, right?
>>53554>>53558>A small blue pony named "Tr--ie" pulls a wagon>>53559Does she need to be? It's a hell of a lot easier to pull a big load on wheels than to carry it
>>53559However you want to do it is fine, but the image of wee Tracy amuses me
>>53560the birbs need a much larger wagon
>>53560Tracy's birds are as big a mammoths.
The wagon I had in mind is like 5 times as big, and she still looks small pulling it by herself. Big, fancy, beautifully furnished wagon, with colorful drapes over the windows.
\r
>>53562... "of kobolds",...
>>53563Sure. That's what they were.
>>53562>>53564Can you please not start shit this weekend?
>>53565What do you mean "start shit"?
>>53566Don't start a fire using shit
>>53566You know damn well what I'm talk about
And by the way, if you want to have a fancy wagon, actually aquire the wagon. You want to attack whatever to get the wagon, actually attack whatever. You want to already be halfway to the mountains, declare when you are leaving. Don't just say "oh yeah I have and did this shit"
>>53568I didn't consider the wagon to be significant. She could just push it off of a cliff when she's done with it, if that's a problem.
>You want to already be halfway to the mountains, declare when you are leaving.I figured time had passed since the last session.
>You want to attack whateverI will when I get the opportunity.
>>53569You want to "kill off a small caravan" it can't happen off screen you lazy meta-gaming fuck
Glad to see nothing ever changes between Tracy's and Trump's faggots
>>53569Technically, Tracy could have declared the start of the scene with "Tracy attacks the lead wagon-driver," so just having the wagon without going into detail is a compromise. Besides, I don't mind if the players do a little story-telling; a wagon (even a large one) is pretty mundane to cause a fuss over, especially at the start of a story.
>>53572I don't give a shit about the wagon, it's the "killed a caravan"
>>53570I figured the action of killing 10-16 irrelevant, nonelite NPCs wasn't an issue, for the sake of a joke.
Bottom line is, Tracy, in one way or another, found a wagon just barely big enough to hold her birdies for a ride into the mountains to see their father.
>>53574Uh, yes it is
>Non-eliteSays fucking who? Since when is it established that the NPCs of this world haven't gotten wise to the vulnerability of transport. Or for that matter, when was it established that caravans even exist? In five months I don't believe I've heard a single mention
>>53573Nonsense. Tracy may have >9 Wis, but she's experienced enough to be able to discern when victims wouldn't be able to put up any fight. She wouldn't seen a bunch of NPCs, thought "they look squishy enough", and then it would've been a quick and easy bloodbath. No significant consequences.
>>53575>the NPCs of this world haven't gotten wise to the vulnerability of transport.Apparently, those kobolds in question weren't prepared for a wild horse attack.
>>53575Does it really matter? It's just "Tracy killed something." leave it at that.
>>53576Yeah bullshit. Multiple times in combat we've gone up against enemies that were different than what we thought and Tracy's 9 wis didn't help her.
Did she know how powerful Trollestia was?
That what was Trollestia was actually Ponimaru?
That what she thought was Trollestia was actually a random unicorn?
>>53577No, fuck you
>>53578And fuck you too

>>53593>start shitIt only "starts shit" because you insist on getting butthurt and reading into it to much.
>>53594There's no reading into what is explicitly stated. And there's literally no reason for you to do this shit either. It doesn't serve any purpose
>>53595>no reasonI don't need a reason. It's for fun.
>>53595The purpose is to tell a story. In this story, Tracy "got" a wagon, and is taking birbs to hopefully see their father.
How she got the wagon is still subject to best shitpost
>>53596Okay, then I will bitch back, for fun
>>53598It literally never needed to be stated
>>53599Yes, but if it was merchants that would please Elway and the Fuhrer
K, gotta go
Don't do anything that makes me want to blow characters up when I get back ^_^
>>53598She got it from a horde of kobolds, who themselves just stole it from a troupe of happy merchants, led by some jerk named Barry.
She chopped up the bodies into fertilizer with expert skill, and buried them beneath a grove of young pine saplings, with the help of a few young dryads, who were glad to receive the resource for their trees.
>>53602>Happy merchantsFine by me.
>>53598Tracy killed a caravan of 40 happy merchants, only to realize that it wasn't big enough.
Hitler noticed this sacrifice of happy merchants, and bestowed a larger wagon to her, because he likes ignoring Infernius
Is Infernius's Flamberge a 1 handed weapon or a two-handed weapon?
>>53606It's a Zweihänder type, right?
>>53606Well, the name of the weapon literally means "double handed sword, " and when I saw GM roll dice for it once it was the same as for a greatsword
>>53610Just making sure it was a Zweihänder, and not a rapier-type Flamberg. They come in all shapes and sizes.

Also, if you have something to say, say it on the thread.
>>53613Is everything bantz to you? I actually do care about the fictional world and the characters. Is that so wrong?
>>53614>Is everything bantz to you?As far as offscreen irrelevant/ambiguous action goes, yes it is.
>I actually careTracy doesn't though.
>>53615Tracy is nothing more than a figment of your imagination. She has no will or wants of her own, and no actions besides those you command. Can you please have some respect?
>>53616Tracy is canonically a serial/spree killer. Her single most consistent character-defining trait is that she mortally stabs people/ponies at random, for seemingly no reason at all. If she had the opportunity to kill a bunch of merchants every once in a while, she would, and she'd do it for no other reason than that she wanted to.
>>53617I knew it! There was another shooter. The secrets that Kennedy knew and wanted to tell us was that Equestria is real and how we can get to it.
>>53617So you're telling me that because the source you stole the concept from has her as a 1 dimensional character who is shit for a serious campaign, you feel compelled to play a 1 dimensional character who is shit for a serious campaign
>>53619Well, sort of.
>serious campaign.Define "serious".
>>53619>serious campaignThere's your problem
>>53620Just develop a character and don't be constrained by the source materials
>>53621I mean a campaign where you can actually give a shit about what goes on in the world
>>53621Unironically this.
Nothing about this campaign has been even close to serious. Tracy killing hypothetical NPCs is not the leading cause of that.
>>53622These.
Develop tracy into a 3 dieminsional character like Infernuis.
>>53622>develop a characterI am. I'm developing a NE serial/spree killer who kills things whenever she can get away with it, because she's eevil and criminally insane. Killing irrelevant merchants for no reason is part of that character development.
>>53624She'll still be a serioal killer though, that's not about to change.
She could use some development though. Sometimes I feel like I'm playing a side-character, because she doesn't have very many motives/ambitions.
>>53625Can you please not?
>>53626You are playing a side character, because you think that "lol kill low level NPC lul" is a character
>>53626Im not asking you to change that.
Im asking you to make her 3D
>>53626I need get her working on that guild. I think the mine beneath crumbling remains of Durpistan would be a great location for an ebil organization.
I also want to put her on the path to rediscovering her abilities.
>>53629I dont think that would be a good place for it. Because we need to harvest the metal.
>>53629There are 1000 places to take this character. Why must you take her the *only* way that causes conflict, *and* is entirely non-helpful to the story as developed thus far?
>>53631>causes conflictHow?
>>53630>we need to harvest the metalCan't Tracy oversee the miners? I thought that'd make a great cover for the guild, since that'd give reason for people going in/out of the tunnel.
>>53632Because the purpose of the party in the larger story is to strike against the evil forces that are threatening the world. With that you're deliberately harming the people we (and especially I) are trying to protect and develop and build with. It conflicts certainly with my character goals
>>53634>purpose of the partyI don't remember signing onto one of those. I just saw that it'd be bloody.
>fight ebilYou don't have to be good to fight ebil.
>trying to protectYou don't need to protect the happy merchants on their way to the port.
>>53635>happy merchantsYou have zero intent for it to be happy merchants
>to fight evilYour character is so 1 dimensional that she has no established motivation to fight evil
>Don't remember signing one of thoseBecause you literally decided in *January* that this was your goal with the character. It is not what you started with
>>53631Ah, nerd bickering. I just thought up this weird idea... this may be crazy and I have no idea if it would work...
set up your own role play with specific rules fun sucking fag I mean, really? Complaining this much about someone isn’t going to help either one of you enjoy anything out of this, just form your own session if you need everyone to conform. Otherwise, learn to work with the player, such as an in-character dialogue to try and end what you find problematic though reason or action. And it will give you that character depth your drooling over.
>>53637THE NEW POSTER SPEAKS TRUTH, HOLY SHIT
>>53633I suppose, you would need to give Infernuis a good reason for you to oversee it.
>>53637Who are you?
>>53637Nigger I've been here six months. Who the fuck are you?
>>53638Thank you my good sir. I enjoy watching what you guys get into now and again, but I never really have had time to join one of these, nor do I think I would be good at it.
>>53636>she has no established motivation to fight evilWell, it's implied she wants to steal things and find an excuse to chop plp up, but yes, I'll admit that she hasn't really had very many motivations to fight anyone she's met so far. I also did my best to illustrate her motivation to finish-off Soros, for the sake of her own powers.
>>53641You never know, most of us didn't think we would be good. Its really fun desu.
>>53642Why would she want powers? The source character has no interests in powers
>>53641Didn't know we had lurkers.
You're welcome to join anytime, if you'd wish. We're not so great at it either.
>>53641>we actually have a lurkerYou have made me happy Anon.
>nor do I think I would be good at it.Truth be told, I knew nothing about any RPG when I started, and when I look back at old threads I realize how fucking terrible I was. My point? Anyone can do this shit. It's just shitposting with dice and math.
>>53643I might sometime, but school is killing me this semester. If I can catch a break one day for a longer period, I might see if you guys will put up with a noob such as myself.
>>53645>>53646Thanks. I will definitely try when I find the time.
>>53647They put up with me, so I'm sure they'll put up with others.
>>53644Well, I made that comparison to the crocodile from Peter Pan, but I guess that's a stale thematic at this point, because we haven't heard from Soros in a while...
Regardless, if you stole the power to fly and walk through walls, but lost most of it in a Gatorade accident, wouldn't you be motivated to gain it back, or at least pursue the means? Tracy, as I played/interpreted her, wanted to explore her powers for her own devices even before that incident. As of now, it's the only thing she really wants to attain for herself alone. I intended for her to explore and learn to exploit her abilities, and use them for feats that no other pony could do.
>>53650So the only things you want to do with this character are the only things that will create conflict. Lovely
>>53651>create conflictWhere did I mention that?
Fuck it. I am done caring. I have enough to worry about. I have a different community that needs saving
I wanted to have *one* universe, online or real or fictional, where you could actually accomplish something before being stabbed in the back by your own allies. I will not find that here
It's been an interesting if not always pleasant 6 months, but I cannot survive one more. Thank you to those of you who helped me in my recent troubles, which are still ongoing, and there are still greater problems looming for all of us

>>53652>>53653Please stop fighting. And dont leave brad.
>>53655I don't want to fight. These arguments are pointless. I can't help it if he gets triggered by everything I do though.
>>53654>>53655I turn on the news and television or facebook or whatever and all I see is a world in decline, with every community I value and everything I value dying or being stamped out. The tides that gave so much hope in 2014, 2015, and that wonderful year of 2016 have long since broken and are receding.
In my personal private life I am still unemployed and still have failed to accomplish much of what I thought I could. It's heart breaking, because hopes were so high
The most heart breaking of all is the future of this site and community. I don't want to say aloud what is going on since that is (probably) confidential, but it scares me and it stresses me
And so I come here so I can be the hero who helps protect a world he cares about and helps to build from a set of villains. But our own damn allies want to be the villains. If we can't care about nameless NPCs then why should we give a fuck about the villains in the main campaign? And if we give a fuck about the villains in the main campaign then how can we ignore players? Another thing to care about
I can't eat right now because of stress. I am done
>>53656All I have asked of you is 1. please stop trying to break the game by combining deviations from set rules when it benefits you with strict rules lawyering when it benefits you and 2. Please play more of as an anti-hero than become yet another villain we have to fight and worry about and protect the fictional world from. The entire point of the main plot is to be in tension and be worried about what harm they may do and are doing to the world. No need to do that yourself. Is that really so much to ask for?
>>53653And this children, is why you don’t seek fulfillment in a fictional world. It is nice to escape to, but never to live in.
This is a game. The people here seek as much enjoyment as you do. They just have different ways of going about the game. If you must leave, then we wish you the best, but you can’t have universal control over everything in any universe. Sometimes when something doesn’t go the way you plan, it gets annoying. But role play is about adapting and solving problems through communication to players and the GM. You may need a break, no one is forcing you to stay, but I urge you to reconsider before quiting for good.
>>51841Now the OP seems ironic, doesn’t it?
>>53657We care for you sir. You should not be so stressed. If you think leaving will help, you may. But we want you to be happy, and I doubt you will be if you leave.
>>53658I've been communicating for months. One issue has been resolved, but that is it
This is a very bad time for me. Under normal circumstances, I could handle it, but these are very bad circumstances
>>53659Understood. I wish you the best. Your in my prayers. If you even need to someone to talk to, remember, you have us. We may not be ideal, but we hope you can think of us as friends.
>>53657I know the feel, also i learned that jews are vastly over represented in the law field. And they take most of the spots that open up.
>>53661I just wish I could have talked to him more and helped him out. He is so far black-pilled, it’s not even funny. He thinks his friends on here are purposely attacking and derailing the game. And his personal life is in worse shape than here. It’s tough. I want desperately to help, but there is only so much a lurker can do.
>>53662Im sure a new player would help white pill him. Also it does kinda seem like a party member might be doing it on purpose.
>>53663Well, the power just went out where I’m at, so I can’t get any work done. Want to guide me through how this role play works?
>>53662You on discord? He's online
>>53664Sure. First off what race would you like to be? Human? Pony? Minotuar? Something else?
>>53665Nope, never used that before.
>>53666 those digits Hmm... I guess a pony.
>>53664Basically, just describe the kind of character you want to play, and that character will wake up in an empty room. To meet the other characters later. It's pretty much open-game/story from there; although the party does get to kill sme really cool (((villians))).
We platy on weekends, and shitpost through the rest of the week. You can be any race or alignment you please.
>>53668Got a specific type you would like to play mudpony, pegasus, or unicorn? Also stallion or mare?
>>53668Great, another pony. What kind of pony?
>>53670Earthpony, and stallion I suppose
my connection is on the fritz today, sorry for delays
>>53667Oh, you don't have to worry about it.
>>53666Hi again Satan
>>53668https://dnd-wiki.org/wiki/SRD:ClassesHere's a class list for your consideration.
Currently we have a Cleric, Paladin, Rouge, Sorcerer/bard, and whatever the hell Thez is at this point.
>>53672There's no rush.
What's he like? What's he do? Any notable talents/profession?
>>53673Better he describe what he wants to be before just picking a class.
GM will be here in a while to guide you through character creation.
>>53672Next we would pick your class, theres barbarian bard cleric fighter rouge soccer wizard and a handful im forgeting.
>>53674I guess, but I found it easier to model a character after the class I wanted
Quick poll, what's everyone's favorite season and/or episode?
>>53677I havent watched past s1
>>53679Chill let him answer one question at a time.
>>53675Was ranger one?
>>53674Hmm... how about the talent of resourcefulness? He can survive off the land using what’s around him.
>>53677It has been a while since I watched the earlier seasons. If I remember it was two, but so far that one season seven episode with apple jack’s parents was my favorite.
>>53679Im bad at names. Can you help me come up with one?
>>53681Yes actually it is.
>>53681I can help with a name, what color is he?
>>53682I think that may work. What do you think?
>>53681Ranger is a class. And it seems to fit your character's talents well.
>nameWell, probably something in relation to his talent would be appropriate, or his cutie mark. What's he look like.
>>53683Color... hmm. A dark blue perhaps?
>>53684Yea i think the class fits very well.
>>53686Okay good, whats his mane color
>>53685 character creation is definitely not my strong suit How about a stick for a cutie mark? It could represent the crafting he would do with them.
>>53687I can’t picture how this will look in my head. How about something like black or navy? A bit darker than the body.
>>53689I think it would look fine.
>>53690Black would be good.
>>53689Not a problem, you're doing fine.
GM will be here later on; then we can actually start him off.
>>53692Sounds good. Can’t wait to see how this goes.
>>53693What's your character's previous occupation, if he had one? You mentioned he was resourceful and a survivalist. How does he use those skills?
>>53695.... I swear that was supposed to go in the porn-dumping thread...
>>53694He was often hired by explorers and archeologists that venture into deep forests and jungles to help them survive and get out of tough situations. He can fashion together sticks, mud, and rock, things you would find in nature, together to make well built camps. He honed this skill to make traps as well, to defend against beasts like timberwolves.
Does that work?
>>53696Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure
>>53698>survivalist>explorer>preferred enemiesSounds like a great Ranger to me.
>>53695>file already exists in this threadWhich one, dammit!
>>53700Thank you. Anything else I need?
>>53698He sounds like a shrewd type.
What kinds of weapons is he good at making/using?
>>53703I didn’t think about that. How about he can make a makeshift dagger out of rock? He likes short blade weapons, but learned how to fumble with a spear to keep large creatures at bay.
>>53704I guess call him Stix
but that makes his nickname faggot
>>53705Welcome stix. You can have any weapon you can imagine.
>>>53705>short blade weaponsI think your character and mine could get along
and my character hates everyone.>make his nickname faggot"Faggot" is the term used to describe the cruel beings that control this world, when the PCs break the fourth wall.
How about making his cutie mark a bundle of sticks (a faggot)? Would better illustrate his resourcefulness and toughness (also, it's like a fascist symbol). Love the name, btw.
>>53706Thanks.
>>53707I like your thinking. A bundle of sticks it is!
>>53707Tracy likes Infernuis.
[bleach gurgling noises]>>53707You said it fellow faggot
Has anyone heard from GM?
>>53712No i assume hes working.
>>53713I've got nothing better to do for tonight, so I have no problem waiting until later.
Tracy is well on her way to Dadybird's nest.
>>53714Yea i dont have anything to do tonight or tomorrow.
>>53715I usually have nothing to do.
I love trolling lefty pol
>>53716I’m free tonight, but I got to finish up work tomorrow, so I don’t know whether I will be on or not then.
>>53717Feel free to drop in any time. Look forward to playing with you.
>inb4 GM fell asleep at his desk
>>53721Happens to the best of us.
>>53722Kek. I'd do it every other day in college last year...
It looks like GM went to bed, so I will as well.
Goodnight m8s.
>>53658I'm good at sensing trends
>>53677Season 4
>>53725Nah, I just finished a night crew schedule for the week. I'll be on days next week
Welcome to our newest player, I'll be happy to walk you through it at earliest.
I'll be happy to bake a new bread since this thread probably has the uncontestable Mlpol post record Xp
