Welcoming new players, and raping welcoming back the old ones, itt continuing the RP Game threads. It's largely classic D&D 3.5e, but only as a baseline of rules and details and such. With every session something gets tweaked, added, pissed on, or thrown out the fucking window. We're right now introducing a new character, so anyone interested is welcome to follow along.

First and foremost, the whole point in and of this game is to practice creativity, to excite and develop one's capacity to respond to a situation and come up with solutions. D&D is a particular game/practice that - while I have no statistical analysis to present - is among the most neurologically developmental practices I can think of, particularly when done over an imageboard.
The sheer act of playing involves visualization, comprehension, imagination, expression, reconsideration, and a whole slough of other activities all at the same time, and especially when misunderstandings occur. Not only is the player creating the scene in their head, but they're creating a response to the situation, and even those responses are determined and affected by a simple die roll, causing increased and continual refinement of both intention, causality, and actual occurrence. I am quite certain that if players were hooked up to an EEG (or whatever the brain-scan device is) their brains would fucking light up, in more ways than almost any game or practice in existence. In a previous thread anon asked "How does one practice and train the resolve" and tbh, this is the best answer I came up with.
Additionally, D&D is such that no one can play without having their inherent psychology bubble up (I think I alluded to this at one point), which can then be either addressed or ignored. It is no coincidence that Tracy's faggot chose a psychopathic, edgy, damaged pony as a character, nor is it a coincidence that Trump's faggot chose to play Trumpaladin. I'm not saying either faggot is a psychopath etc. nor that Trump is likewise, but the characters pertain to one or more elements in their psychology that may or may not be worth addressing. Take me for example, Thez is - among other things - a manifestation of my own helplessness in facing aspects of existence that I lack the power to address or affect. Whether its the untimely and painful demise of dear friends, or unfortunate happenings in my childhood - both of which still haunt me to this day - this is my method of coping and trying to pick apart piece by piece the things which are useful and noteworthy and process the rest to the best of my ability. I don't know anyone's particular circumstances, but I could reference numerous comments throughout that suggest to me a greater mental issue which players might not be aware of or have addressed.
More still, the game is designed to give players the opportunity to develop a greater sense of compromise. In crafting this campaign, I deliberately broke numerous 'rules' advised in the DM's guide (most notably the "no divergent alignments" rule) expressly so that players can come to practice compromise and mutual self and group improvement, which are essential and requisite skills in life and which I have come to realize are skills that may be less-developed in anon-board participants; that has been my experience on 4chan, and is my experience on Mlpol.net. >>17323Don't be an asshole. Read it. I read it
>>17323It's worth it. It's thoughtful, and not full of salt like everything else in this thread.
I had hoped that presenting players with relatively clear and obvious challenges (which would become increasingly more difficult and vague over time) would allow players to grow together in a sense, as well as giving a venue to interact on a level which positively excites all 4 essential brain chemicals (Endorphins, Dopamine, Seratonin, and Oxytocin), for both immediate and long-term benefit, which is something that I personally am lacking practice and experience with. More specific to context, I offered players all the means to build whatever fucking items they wanted, virtually unlimited resources (if they asked the right questions), and limitless room to grow and develop things however they desired.
On a personal note, I looked forward every day to driving myself to the brink of mental/physical exhaustion just to add whatever touches or artefacts or what have you just to make it even the slightest bit more compelling, in hopes that among other things a developing fascination and enthusiasm might spread to other parts of the board.
Metaphysically, this game was supposed to be a microscopic venue in which players take control and authority over the game, which transitions into their own lives and circumstances. Allegorically, it was to allow players the chance to voodoo against forces and individuals outside their ability to combat or oppose, Soros being the very least of what I had hope to script. (still more)
>>17318>>17322>>17328Happy to see game is still on.
>as I understand it I'm trying not to be salty about it, so I'll just say it.
Trump, you're a bit of a tyrant. Tracy, you're a bit of a narcissist. Infernius, you're a bit too eager to please. Torcuil, you're a bit too aloof. Me? I'm a sociopath. We all have our faults, and I hoped we might be able to address them, subconsciously if not consciously. I won't go on at length about how things 'should' have gone, but I will say I would rather end the game now than watch it descend into an increasing degree of vitriol over fucking make-believe. Remember, we're essentially playing with dolls here, no matter how attached or detached we as individuals are to our characters. I am particularly disappointed in how at the verge of including new players, increasing threats of stabbing whoever or cutting one another's parts off (even if it IS fictional) lead inevitably to threats of banning people outright. I'm astonished that this is how individuals who are among a group that freely and openly touts that Friendship is Magic are willing to feel justified in such activity. And that's without putting in manipulative shit designed to induce an emotional response, which I am better than average at, and MORE than prepared to do.
So, let me put it to you all this way:
Is it possible that Tracy - stabbing whoever or whatever she wants - could "just happen" to not want to stab, steal from, outright lie to, or otherwise malign the party?
Is it possible that Trump - responding to his particular idiosyncrasies and proclivities - might be a little more lax about demanding compliance from his allies?
Is it possible that Torcuil - in still being the 'cave dweller' that he was/is - might be willing to magic some assertive resolutions to the situation without walking away? You DO know that you're essentially the most powerful character in the game, aside from Thez who - spoiler alert - was going to be a character who regresses in experience and ability?
Is it possible that Infernius,... ah I don't have much against him; I haven't figured out if its bias or not yet.
Basically, my overall rhetorical question is this: is it worth it to continue playing, if everyone is going to end up tearing each-other apart?
>end rant
>>17330im glad you said all this. the only way to work through our problems is to have them all out in the open.
I lied, I've got one more
The riddle of the faggot. I deliberately directed characters to be aware of their faggots for a philosophical point. The idea is that behind the faggots is another sort of faggot, who controls their actions and behaviors. One could call this 'God' or 'Spirit' or whatever, but the idea is that what the player feels as compulsion, inevitable response to circumstances, the natural course of events playing out or whatever, is dictated imperceivably by some'thing' beyond the individual's ability to perceive, and yet can be known to some degree. The characters are aware of their faggots, and yet the characters are entirely at the whim of their faggots. Characters do NOT decide what they are going to do or how they are going to respond, no matter how artistically that is made to seem. Tracy's faggot DOES have dictatorial control of Tracy, regardless of what Tracy Cage's OC has depicted in memes and artwork. Trump's faggot DOES have dictatorial control of Trump, regardless of what/how the real Trump acts and depicts himself.
The ball is in your court, and I'll break every rule in the fucking book to make that possible, and try to make it entertaining and compelling, even to my own detriment (and believe me, I've thought long about the implications of that too).
All I ask is that you PLEASE stop trying to force one another to act per your OWN desires and requirements. I don't even care if you kill yourselves off a dozen times or more, there's PLENTY of ways to undo THAT (incidentally, Infernius is almost as powerful as Torcuil, just that Torcuil can use both arcane and divine spells), but if we ARE to continue, make it about Lulz rather than spite and venom.
>NOW I'm done
>>17330>>17331Fully understand your feeling. And if it is going to be a downward spiral to blackpill station, and not to friendship and magic, much if not all of the fun will be missing.
>still hope friendship will win in the end >>17322>no one can play without having their inherent psychology bubble up... which can then be either addressed or ignoredI know
>Numerous comments throughout that suggest to me a greater mental issue which players might not be aware of or have addressedPlease listen to me because I would really like you to understand what I am about to say: I am fully well aware of my personality flaws
and how they have reflected in this game
>I had hoped that presenting players with relatively clear and obvious challenges... would allow players to grow together in a senseNow matter how little it may have showed, I promise you, it did
>I looked forward every day to driving myself to the brink of mental/physical exhaustion just to add whatever touches or artefacts or what have you just to make it even the slightest bit more compellingSo did I, and you did
>this game was supposed to be a microscopic venue in which players take control and authority over the game, which transitions into their own lives and circumstances. Allegorically, it was to allow players the chance to voodoo against forces and individuals outside their ability to combat or opposeThat's exactly where it all went wrong. I discovered over the summer that I have the strong tendency to feel like the people around me, who I am supposed to be working with and trusting, are plotting and working against me. I am paranoid and megalomaniacal. And the game, unfortunately, just created another instance where I felt powerless to prevent people from working and plotting against me. That was the source of all of the problems in game.
>Trump, you're a bit of a tyrantI know
>I would rather end the game now than watch it descend into an increasing degree of vitriol over fucking make-believeI know. I wish my IRL were going well enough to compensate me

>>17339>Is "don't be overly malevolent" that unreasonable? No. My only comment on that is "baby steps".
>More damagedWe're anons posting on a nazi-horsefucker board. I'd be surprised indeed if every one of us wasn't scarred more or less.
>I wish my IRL...I'm in a similar boat. Being here (in thread and in board) has helped me grow by degrees I'd never have imagined, and pardon my selfishness in wanting that to continue at all costs.
I'm sorry if that all came across as brow-beating. This whole game - from start to current - has been far more emotionally involved/-ing than I could have predicted. I've gotten triggered more times than I can count, and each time has been a learning experience for me. I just want everyone to be there for one another, even if they're not getting along at the moment.
I'll have no more threats of banning legit players tho. You may be a mod, but I won't tolerate that. I've come to rely on you in particular
because you have the authorization to affect change beyond mine. In exchange, I promise not to get salty if you wanna mangle Tracy now and again. Deal?
Also to the IRL bit, making one's situation better is a mix of perseverance and patience; the former is a matter of practice and resolve, the latter is a matter of both relaxing and/or occupying one's self in the interim.
>>17343P.S. I'm not just talking about ITT (that's for the lookie-lous)
>>17330>aloofCan't argue with that
>>17331Oui, but I had nothing at that point.
Can't help the fag if the fag isn't there.
Also, you're doing a great job GMing
GM why cant Lenos extend the barrel of a gun? I'm not asking for the pistols to turn into a GUA avenger I've already come this far, might as well get it all outThez and I - and the fact that I can express that without shame, guilt, misgivings, or whatever - love you guys. Its not romantic, but there is a degree of intimacy. Trump IS fearless, upstanding, and resolute. Torcuil IS reasonable, considerate, and brilliantly creative. Infernius
"I'nis!" IS a paragon of generosity and selflessness. Tracy IS an archetypal lone-wolf, yet contributive, and often surprisingly social. Your characters - and though them you - have re-ignited aspects of MYSELF that were quite literally deadened. As pissed as I was earlier, I'll keep these threads going as long as there are players willing to play.
>>17345Wait, that's all you wanted? Yeah, he can do that (I thought you wanted to modify the mechanics or something) Also, yeah I was grasping on that bit.
>>17345I like the aloofness: it's fitting for an old cave-NEET who gained meme powers by studying ancient shitposts in isolation.
*stealthily removes knives from haggis* >>17346Can we have a fresh bread without drama, and leave the salt-posting in this one?
>>17346>Thez and I - and the fact that I can express that without shame, guilt, misgivings, or whatever - love you guysD'AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. i love you to
no homo>Infernius "I'nis!" IS a paragon of generosity and selflessnessim just glad to help.
>>17342>Being here (in thread and in board) has helped me grow by degrees I'd never have imaginedThat's my problem though. I feel like this whole experience has fed into and made worse my paranoia - and it's a problem I've never had IRL. It's also fed into megalomania by making an arms race necessary, and megalomania
is a problem I have IRL. I'm not sure if I am growing or degenerating
>I'll have no more threats of banning legit players tho. It's because it's the only power I have. I am completely powerless otherwise...
>In exchange, I promise not to get salty if you wanna mangle Tracy now and again. Deal? Can I have something to make the fights a little more in my favor...?
>making one's situation better is a mix of perseverance and patience; the former is a matter of practice and resolve, the latter is a matter of both relaxing and/or occupying one's self in the interimCan I be forgiven if I want more trustworthiness?
I wish I could join in on the lubby-dubby, but I am not well right now
>>17352whats wrong friend can i help in someway?
>>17353>>17354D'aww, thanks. I'm fully aware this bullshit has been my doing, by the way
I'm going to wait to bake, 'cuz I want to do it right.
>>17351>megalomaniaAn old friend of mine once asserted that there is no such thing as a person who doesn't have or express some form of megalomania, and that all one can do is learn to manifest it in ways that are more or less appropriate. I also experience elevated (often extreme) levels of paranoia, particularly in my professional and personal affairs. I don't know that I have any solutions to offer at the moment, but I'll commit myself to it, to whatever degree I can.
>banning is only power, are powerlessThat is NOT true, and I hope I/we can help with that.
>make fights more in favorAre you talking combat fights, or group in-fights?
>more trustworthinessThat's one of the parts of your position I agree with entirely. I'm one for compromise, but I feel you're absolutely right on that. You need no forgiveness, but if you feel you do, you are forgiven.
>>17355Everyone played their part, me most of all (no matter how I may want to rationalize otherwise).
>>17356>make fights more in favor>Are you talking combat fights, or group in-fights?hes talking about fights with tracy i think.
>>17357I'm way ahead on that part
sorry Tracy >>17351>Can I have something to make the fights a little more in my favor…?Do you not realize that I've intentionally made sure to only give her powers that your character is resistant/immune to (I make her decisions with math, so it's annoying to me if she sees opportunities? She's a field monster: you could knock her out in just 1-2 hits with Smite Evil
(It's the safe word! I've been hinting at this for weeks now. Remember it!) GM can you look up the artillery luger, and tell me if lenos can do that?
>>17361while we are talking about firearms.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UExcdWxmev8can i get something like pic related?
>>17339I can tone down to malevolence, gradually.
But seriously, why do you have to make things harder than it is? You
know that I make most decisions with math, but you still treat it like it's some kind of power struggle? Why does your character always ask so many obscure inquisitive questions that his faggot already knows the answer to? You
know that she's going to be doing all this edgy/evil shit in secret, but your character keeps prying or making passive-aggressive movements to mess-up whatever he doesn't actually know is going on (i.e. following Tracy all the way to the dome for no reason, while Port Barry was being burned down). I have to pull-out a graphing calculator in every scene she's in with your character in it, so stop intentionally saying stuff that no sane person would say around their psychotic stalker: she's not oblivious to your character casually implying he doesn't like her or that he likes other females; I have to jump through hoops to avoid violent outcomes with muh flowcharts.
Just let me do evil shit in secret so I can play her as neutral in the open, and stop making your character ask questions he wouldn't think of or make passive-aggressive movements like it's some kind of game of chess. Nothing my character does hampers yours directly, so let him mind his own business while the mysterious ghost pony wreaks havoc on unrelated/deserving populous at night.
>>17361Yes like that, but god those colors are awful for a gun.
Now I can shoot stuff from half a mile away. Sniping time >>17363>You know that I make most decisions with mathWhy do you do that. Change the math to something better for the rest of us
>>17364I thought you'd like the colors,....
How about this then? This is more along the lines of how I envisioned the guns to begin with.
>>17365Noted, and I think I can accommodate
>>17363As I said to him "Baby steps"
>>17362Its possible, but you'll have to ask the right people the right questions.
>>17359>Change the math to something better for the rest of usIt's not so easy as it sounds (you try to create your own math system to emulate a psychotic mindset). The system as created to abdicate control and make the game more interesting. I reserve one rotating day per week for pure faggot-driven banter.
Also, if I changed it or tried to predict where it will come out as, it wouldn't really be a yandere plot, would it? An essential part to a yandere story is the unpredictable potential violence.
>>17367Thats better, gold is terrible look
>>17363>Why does your character always ask so many obscure inquisitive questions that his faggot already knows the answer to? So he can get answers
>You know that she's going to be doing all this edgy/evil shit in secret, but your character keeps prying or making passive-aggressive movements to mess-up whatever he doesn't actually know is going onI think you just answered your own question there
>I have to pull-out a graphing calculator in every scene she's in with your character in itJust... why would you play like that?
>following Tracy all the way to the dome for no reason, while Port Barry was being burned downHow the hell do you come to that interpretation? I was going somewhere because I wanted to expand my empire, and I didn't give a shit what you were doing. And neither of us knew Port Barry was burning down. Cardishore was the city recommended by GM. I would have just as happily gone anywhere else
>or make passive-aggressive movements like it's some kind of game of chessThen don't play chess with loot or unicorns
>let him mind his own business while the mysterious ghost pony wreaks havoc on unrelated/deserving populous at night. He's Paladin of Port Barry, so Port Barry is his business
>>17372I'm sorry, but if your character can't stop prying needlessly on whims he shouldn't have with his level of knowledge, don't expect me not to be sneaky about things; I still intent to play an evil character.
>>17363Nigger, I scored high on the LSAT. I can do basic logic. If Tracy disappears exactly at the moment the unicorn is being talked about, that means Tracy is going for the unicorn, or at least the odds are high enough to merit spending time on it. Same with who took the thing, and so on and so forth. I have been limiting knowledge
>>17375>prying needlessly on whimsIt's called being suspicious. If you don't want that, then stop being suspicious
>>17373Fukkin subb'd! TY!
>>17375May I suggest that Tracy interpret Trump's inquisitiveness as genuine interest rather than prying? Given Tracy's interest in him, wouldn't his questions be interpreted as concern and/or growing devotion? Rather than respond defensively, might she instead respond with intrigue?
>>17375And I still intend to play a Good one you kike. Have you learned nothing.
>>17373Okay, meta-gaming isn't wasn't I thought it was
New, Low-sodium bread when?
>>17377This.
The love interest can be Yandere too
>>17380How did you know I was going with "Low Sodium"? Soon.
>>17386its the next logical step.
>>17384Wat.
>>17385Yandere means an person with an obsessive romantic interest that outwardly presents the appearance of niceness, but on the inside is just crazy and aggressive. Tsundere is basically the inverse, being hostile and cold on the outside, but being loving on the inside
>>17386>>17380I don't think we've resolved the issue. A less salty bread can wait until there is less salt
>>17389I want low-sodium now, so I can post stuff I want there, and dump my autism in this cesspool of a thread.
>>17388>watI took extensive lengths to create a system that minimized increasing attachment and the decay it created, and applied a function to make it so that your character isn't the center of the world anymore.
>>17390Can we not have Yandere decay though? That just creates a monster none of us want to see
>>17391The system itself is created to regulate decay and become increasingly chaotic: it was originally developed for this purpose. The detachment matrix slows the process, but relies on the character focusing on other thought-lines to obscure obsession: in this case, that thought being the arrival of the new most important being in the world.
>>17392did you even watch the video? it shows you how to play an evil character.
>>17392Uh... Okay. Just can you play it in a way that isn't unfun for the rest of us?
>>17394Fuck off
"Maybe this will help," Lenos says with a strange multi-button rod in his hands.
He points it at the party, and not dissimilar to the Frog Swarm, a stampede of adorable kittens shoots forth from the tip, covering everyone in adorable little buzzes with big eyes and cute little ears. The whole place is now filled with the sound of "Mew"s.
>>17396infernuis hugs as many kittens as possible.

How about (and I'll dup-post in new bread) we agree to disagree, but not act like faggots toward one another, or else GM will start nerfing characters left and right? ^_^
>sweetest of disingenuous smiles
No offense, I find that most players are being much more reasonable
