/mlp/ found a balance by prohibiting porn, but allowing links and smut (even if it was gray area).
That way, horny anons could find things to "get started" and go elsewhere for the main event.
On the other hand, Anon could find SFW content in all the board.
Granted, I wouldn't browse /mlp/ on the open at work.
But, imho, limits or restrictions brings creativity in art.
Flutterape is a good example.
Yes, some were clearly sexual.
But a good brunch played with the limits, and that what made it enjoyable.
