/mlpol/ - My Little Politics

My personal position is that every chan needs some type of random or shitposting board. The topic has been brought up several times on /qa/ by multiple users, and I remember it being brought up fairly early on in the site’s existence. Considering the level of quality we like to maintain for our primary /mlpol/ board, there are number of threads we’ve had to delete that would likely be permissible on an off-topic board. I also suspect there are a lot of tangential or funny things and thread types that users would like to post on the main board but don’t because it would be considered off topic or shitposty, and I think that /sp/ could function as a /b/ style board for such posting without derailing or detracting from discussion on the main board.

My thinking is that the board could be run in the style of old /b/, in that there would be no specific rules on posting beyond observing site-wide rules and applicable laws. There would also be no specific rules on moderating the board either, and mods would be free to delete threads or ban people as they see fit, with a general understanding that bans and deletions should ideally be kept to a minimum and the topic can be addressed if users feel that mods are killing the fun on the board. Basically, sort of a wild west system like /b/ was in its heyday. Porn threads not related to pony would be discouraged since they don’t really add content, and anything that is obvious spam would be deleted, beyond that the board would be pretty much open to serve our users’ shitposting needs.

I also see no particular reason that only one new board should be created, I know that a self-improvement board has been suggested and I would be in favor of that as well.

Do we need another board? Admittedly I only use /mlpol/, but shit's kinda slow as is (though it does seem a bit more active lately, doesn't it?). I know that 'general' is a bad word on chans, but wouldn't that be a working solution for the time being since we have so little? The purpose of the board would be for funposts and threads not directly related to mlp or politics. Some of the thread types we've nixed on the main board due to being shitposty or off topic but aren't in direct violation of rules could go there as well. The rules would be fairly fluid and there could be more or less moderation as users of the board see fit, this would just be determined over time to see what gets posted and what people prefer.

I'm not married to the name /sp/, I just think it's funny because it would be broncos-themed and the acronym could work equally well for SPorts or Shit Posting.

Personally I'd rather have separate boards for distinct tangent topics than generals within the main board. The biggest issues with generals is not that they exist so much as that they exist as circlejerks that take up space on the main board. Page 1 of /mlp/ seems to be mostly a list of general threads based on the couple of times I've gone there, if you're going to have an endless recurring thread for the same topic that generates its own sub-community within the main community, to me it makes much more sense to just put it in its own separate board.

We can't just become a limp-wristed circlejerk patting each other on the back for having the "Right" beliefs, when not fapping to porn. We need to act on these beliefs, act on our ideals, and get shit done. This board needs to be a place where we can discuss plans and raids and organize, not just for fun, but for our goals. We will secure a future for white children and the white race, and we will do it together, or we will die trying.

Both of these boards are necessary, but if I could only choose one, I'd choose the first. The second can be added when more people are ready for it. We need action. We need vision. We will either become the greatest generation of white people, or the last.

Though I think Personal Development is a better and slightly more wide name, /pd/ for short.

I must disagree with that. Just look at /cyb/ and /1ntr/. This boards have too little traffic. I remember asking mod about what can be posted on /1ntr/ and he said you can also post random content there too.

Not everything is in the looks. We don't need to look like nazi. But some neets can use advice on how dress respectably or how world works and its not always about politics.
Not everything can be about politics when you want to help your fellow anons. However, self improvement IS part of politics because political ideologies like NatSoc see degenerates as undesirable elements in societies. Since many people here are NatSoc, they either want to remove them from here or help them improve. Any 2 boards out of which one is random and one is topical will just become bigger random board after the merger. Its little too soon to speculate on how well /sp/ will be doing. If whatever low traffic that was left in /cyb/ and /1ntr/ is fated to move to random board, it will happen on its own, no need for mod intervention. Besides, semi /cyb/ threads were submited at /mlpol/ before. Its because these kind of threads are often warnings and brainstorming for possible solutions to botnet and such so OP want everyone to see it.

A thought: How about a generals board? Then we could have generals for /fitlit/, /pd/, /spoutk/, ongoing happenings and whatever people might want, without the overhead of creating new boards for every idea or annoying people who hate generals. Threads that get enough traction can be spun out to separate boards if and when it makes sense to do so.

Self improvement isn't just about getting physically fit otherwise the military would be compromised of our best and brightest. The reality is that it's about the mindset and the paradigm shift from being defeatist and reactionary vs being visionary and proactive. I think we should have self-improvement for a few weeks before we get roleplaying, though. When I was younger, I roleplayed a lot online and it always brought out the worst in people. I was but a mere sorceror looking to bang some babes and slay some monsters, but everyone else was living though these games and calling in favors from their circlejerk group friends for the sake of pointless loot and more pointless egos. Roleplaying sites were full of mentally-regressed children with "RP Families" and it was fucking creepy. Doing it in that harmless way you mentioned sounds fun, though.
