I have just watched 2 people participate in something that was advertised as a debate. They did this because they both believe they should be the man to lead the most influential country on Earth. A country that could probably economically cripple most others on this planet, and if they couldn't, they'd surely succeed when it came to employing their military might. The citizens of this country seem to agree that these two have the best qualifications for that post, and they are prepared to give them this power, all that remains is to play the democratic game to decide which of them is the final winner.
I cannot fathom how this came about, as one of them is an outspoken communist jew, and the other is a "civic nationalist" who still befriends the jew - just does it in a nationalistic way, I suppose. I don't understand anymore.
As for the "debate" itself, they both acted like 5 year old children who have yet to learn and understand what a debate even is. No, maybe that is not accurate. It seemed they did their best to do the very opposite of how proper debate is usually conducted. They spoke out of turn, every turn. They refused to stay on topic, and sometimes just straight up avoided answering direct questions. Not by tricks, mind you, but just by stating they are going to ignore certain points, not even bothering to keep up appearances. There was an appointed moderator, who was supposed to keep order. He didn't. More than that, he just contributed to the chaos. He was supposed to be impartial. He wasn't. More than that, he actually helped the side of the senile communist on occasion. He didn't bother with keeping up appearances either.
Today was a weird day. I don't know what is going on anymore.
