HOI4 is a dumbed down version of HOI3 with DLC's. Go play HOI3 with the black ICE mod instead.

I saw one CK2 meme a while ago so I'll try that out first. How do I git gud at that game? Because gitting gud at Stellaris meant going on reddit to find an OP combo of traits for this version of the game and then steamrolling the game on autopilot.

I don't know but I'm just not into that genre of games. I've played complete EU3 (cause fuck getting EU4 with its over 200 dollar amount of dlc. Who in their fucking right minds would even put that much money into that and lets say you only get the base game, you are severely missing out on tons of mechanics and such to the point you might as well not even bother. Another words, I fucking hate having an incomplete game that gets a new dlc every fucking other week. Even if you was to pirate, look at how much fucking shit you have to pirate, is it even worth it?) and I just couldn't get into it no matter how much I tried. Just too much diplomacy, the game tries to offer you so many alliances to be part of and a whole lot of other shit and I just can't keep track of it all like the brainlet I am. I prefered to play as Portugal or Spain and just conquer the new world but even then I still had to worry about the affairs in Europe constantly. I know, I'm a total fucking brainlet but I prefer to play RTS games instead since a game is about 30 minutes to an hour so if I lose, no big loss but if I lost in a campaign in a grand strategy game, I just lost several hours of my life and I like to micromanage units and the sort. The Total War series is more up my alley but I don't count those as grand strategy games since they are turned based and the battles are actually battles you must command and if I could make love with Medieval 2 Total War, I would .

Also I feel redditors have ruined the genre. They flocked to the games and they lost their hardcore mechanics with each new game. They blindly pay for the new dlc without even thinking and naturally, Paradox knows so why not milk the oblivious cow? The worst atrocity is the damn memes they make, they are on a whole another level of cringe. Not to mention I feel they ruined the Civilization franchise too since redditors LOVE Civ 5 and that game is probably the only one they played beside Civ 6 and I don't need to tell you how the Civ franchise got dumbed down.

CK2 always depends on what DLC's your going to be playing with. First if you buy the game on steam you can just pirate all the DLC and use this to play with them on multiplayer.

Since paradox are a bunch of swedish jews they charge hundreds of dollars for text files. Luckily since the game and its DLC are just text files you can simply just change a few files to get the pirated DLC working on Steam.

There are several different ways to play and several different mechanics so it would take some time learning all the mechanics. Easiest way to learn is to read the wiki and play by trial and error. Also the game is very fun in multiplayer. Hit me up if you wanna play fam.

Try HOI3 with black ice if you want a better challenge. Nobody uses the sprites in HOI3 and there is an actual order of battle that you manage. HOI3 is less of like playing a political leader and more about playing like a Army Chief of Staff. Fighting the USSR as Germany is pretty hard, but afterword the western powers feel kinda weak because they AI can't intelligently place their troops.

Doing a co-op game with friends both playing as Japan and the US fleet is almost all in Alaska with tons of US divisions. Iran and Argentina joined the Axis in our game as well. Kinda fucked up a few things.I was able to cut off the Russians in the Caucuses and proceed to arrest them with SS police units because they ran out of supplies. My friends in Japan were able to tie up a stupid huge amount of US troops in Latin America as well. Little problems aside I would rate HOI3 so much higher than HOI4.

I could type out a lot but most of its already been said on the problems with hoi4. The problem with EaW is that its linear and doesn't have a major world conflict, instead like Kaiser Reich its about regional wars which means shit gets boring fast. One war and your done pretty much, meaning the only interesting powers to play are those with a large disadvantage. Its a good mod but bad in game play because of this, I'd say the only way to fix this is by doing multiplayer and forming factions. But even then the terrain doesn't really help to balance this out unlike the base game with Europe being very dynamic.

If you get Vicky 2 with the Pony Demand Mod, I highly recommend going into the mod files and removing the "is_overseas = no" line from the Equestrian culture group. You'll rarely if ever see ponies in your colonial and overseas provinces otherwise: you'll be lucky if you even manage to turn Valmansas and Springdale into fully-fledged, majority-Equestrian states, much less New Mexicolt, Coltarado, Oatlahoma, Fyrefly, and New Caledonia once you acquire those.

Stellaris is less a game and more a roleplay experience, you play it to act out whatever sci-fi scenario you can think of from whatever genre. Though that other Anon is right, it's only fun when you inject high numbers of mods.

Personally, I can't have fun playing it anymore unless I can make the galaxy go full grimdark forever war with the pony imperium.

Try to play as Sombra, thats one of the few scenarios that is still fun. Hard mode no Changeling allies, take all of equestria yourself before the Changelings do. That or play equestria as nmm or Celestia during the civil war and become db.

It appears that removing the "is_overseas = no" from the cultures file in the common folder causes the mod to not load properly when it's at the databases part of loading. Also, on page 13 of the forum post for the mod there's a new version 1.3.0B for the mod.

How about Darkest Hour? It's standalone (paid) mod for HoI2 I found it quite deep and interesting. There is also huge wealth of mods (like orginal Kaiserreich)
