Set six years after season 6, Occupied Equestria presents an alternative history where the Changelings have conquered half of Equestria, while a former Equestrian colony - soured to Princess Twilight's notion of harmony with all creatures because of their encounters with griffins - Invaded and took the other half. In Baltimare and the Equestrian Southeast, the magic of friendship has weakened, as Communists, Changeling infiltrators, Fascists, gangs, and corrupt creepy politicians threaten the city. This role play is based in large part upon the Equestria at War mod for Hearts of Iron 4, and uses D&d 3.5e mechanics.

>>96155Qt.Played a little bit as Longsword recently (communist path, because I like playing as Pony nations better than Griffon nations and because Starry Night's design is actually bretty gud), and it really helped to show why the Longswordian Civil War is never consistent. So many 7-day Focuses, so many events and decisions, so much RNG...
>>96156I like Wingbardy better than lonsword tbh
>>96157True, but there's that challenge of taking a tiny, landlocked, poor, uneducated county, fixing it up, then turning around and conquering the Empire you originally spawned from.
>>96157>>96158So in that case, it's a bit like playing as Serbia in Victoria 2.
>>96148"Yes, basically."
>>96153Dark Star is pretty much being spooned the hell out of right now.
>>96156I've tried repeatedly to stop Hellquill before it genocides the ponies, but it's almost impossible for virtually all surrounding countries.
Despite having three paths, Hellquill 100% invariably goes fascist, and will always complete the pony genocide before 1010, usually much earlier. The only nation that can reliably conquer Hellquill first is the Longsword Socialists (maybe the Military), as they get an early war goal. The Diamond Dogs get an early war goal, but the military is hopelessly inferior until much later. I am not sure about war goals with Firtree and Farbrook, but generally the military is not powerful enough that early. You can
almost do it with Greneclyff, but it's usually too slow. The biggest disapointment is Lake City, who despite getting wargoals against Longsword and Hellquill, and having an ideology that would care about a genocide of ponies, their war goals are bizarrely late in their trees, making it difficult or impossible to conquer Hellquill early enough.
I don't like how the pony genocide in Hellquill goes basically unnoticed by everyone. When the Fascists/Purists of Nimbusia take over, they start to murder Helots at random, which triggers an event for pretty much all nations, and causes Nimbusia to be kicked out of the River Coalition. The focus "what minorities?" by contrast, has no event pop up for any country, not even Hellquill itself. Only the focus "reign of terror" has an event pop up for the Hellquill player, and the whole affair goes entirely unnoticed by Lake City, a pony communist Longsword, and basically everyone who would be inclined to care.
The Reformitsen Black Cloaks of Longsword get a national spirit, a bit of text in the intro-screen, and two separate focus trees opposing them. The Reformitsen Black Cloaks of Hellquill are 100% unnoticed until they unleash a bio-weapon that kills a million Riverlands ponies.
Oh God... That was an almost Nigel level tangent\r

>>96162Um... what is Dark Star reeing to? His status as a living Dakimakura for Silver?
>>96160>>96162Silver smiles some more as he nuzzles into the top of Star's head. "Well, if you ever need somepony to come and turn Star into teddy bear, you know who to call."
Definitely going to be my next goal when I continue as Longsword, but I've gotta hurry. It's New Years on 1008, and they've almost completed the opposite branch of their fascist tree. Just hoping a bunch of partisans is enough to overwhelm the border guards they have before that focus completes. It's neat they added Hellquill to the list of nations you can force to go down a specific path, though. >>96168"Not only are you silly pony, you are also cute pony." Star is fairly certain Silver just kissed the top of his head, though his time to respond to this is limited by Silver once again pulling Star into his new fluffy home.
>>96164>>96168>>96169Skie pulls up her hooves to the right side of her head as she tilts her face
"D'aww. You two are so cute together"
>>96170>>96169"No u"
Dark Star sounds rather indignant
>>96170>>96171"So we are all silly and cute? Great!" Star is absolutely smothered by Silver's thick, soft winter coat. He looks over at Blue, a little worried about her while Silver and Star bond over the comforts of warm fur. "You are not feeling left out, are you? We can move to booth if you want to."
>>96171“No I what?”
She tilts her head in confusion at Dark Star’s sentence fragment
>>96172>>96174"Hehe"
Skies stands up, and walks closer, trying to squeeze her head and shoulders into the Silver Star fluff ball between Silver and Star
