Well how about that,... air pirates. And they call their ship a derivative of "Cunt" too. I wonder if there's a connection, GM says dryly.
This leg of the game has the players either onboard or somewhere in the vicinity of the 'random' pirate airship that has taken to firing upon Trump Tower, as well as several of the characters. Unfortunately, a spell-caster onboard has placed a spell of Peace on the ship, and now there's a shimmering wall of force surrounding the captain.
Thez is hovering about 45deg from the front, ready to attack. Lenos is preparing for a Meteor Swarm, Infernius is speeding toward the ship, and Torcuil said "Fuck the Bullshit" and just teleported to it.
Trump wants to engage in diplomacy, but he rolled a 1 so he has to wait, and Tracy can't stab at ALL, which is an entirely new sensation for her.

The below-deck is the 'captain's quarters', except converted into a bunk area for several dozen. The below-deck is about 1000sq ft with a loading bay in the front, with a transparent (and removable) membrane keeping wind and elements out of the below-deck. In the middle is the kitchen, which has a small chute connecting the kitchen to the bar area. Also, there's a jaccuzi toward the back.
>>42959How many decks are there?
>>42959You said the tower was dented earlier.
How much damage was actually done?
>>42963Nothing structural or significant, just enough for the party to go "Oh hey, these cannons seem to be able to do damage to that glass-shit."
When you cast Gate, is there a chance of creatures slipping through from the other side without you wanting them to?
>>42964What kind of ammo are they firing?
>>42965If not properly warded or guarded (magic circles n shit) yes, they can.
>ammoLarge bullets, rather than cannonballs.
>>42966>Large bulletsInteresting.
How much ammunition is left in stock? Do they have any spare powder?
>>42966>Large bulletsCan I get a compare and contrast of these cannons versus the ones on the Jolly Cunt?
>>42967There's about 30 shots stacked in a hopper below-decks, meaning 3 full volleys and a single burst from the fore-cannons.
>>42968Way different. More technologically advanced and precise in their construction, in addition to being flame-less and entirely mechanical in their operation.
>>42969>entirely mechanicalSo, is there a Use Magick Device DC for anything else on the ship?
I can't remember how many ranks I put into Tracy's skill, but I think I maxed it out because I wanted her to be able to use scrolls.
>>42970Nope. By the looks of things, this wasn't a raiding party, this was just a 'party' on the 'yacht' where the assembled got wasted and decided to fuck with that new bunch they kept hearing about.
[1d20+10 = 25]>>42970I can't find the sheet atm, but I'll just say she put 10 ranks into it for the sakje of using her Detect Magick wand right now.
Rolling to use Wand to check what parts of the ship are magical and/or warded, for the sake of clarity.

>>42973>it workedGood. I hope she has the same luck when she tries to use the scroll to summon the Hags.
>>42974Kek
>>42974There's no traps, and the magic of the ship is largely centered around and emanating from the Flying Stone. There are traces running through the ship, but relating to some other function of the ship and not producing any effects.
>>42976Not
just a bunch of assholes, but yes. Don't worry though, a few got away to provide intel.
>>42975If you fail your Use Magick Device DC when using a scroll spell that isn't on your list, is your scroll still used-up? I wan't to know, because the DC's for casting Greater Planar Ally or Greater Planar Binding from scrolls would be at 28.
>>42977>They delivered intel from the encounter to whatever big bad they were working forreeeeSo what's the drawings on the napkin map?
>>42977>Flying StoneDon't know what that is.
Did it project the shield as well?
What about the wards that made the balloon indestructible?
>>42979>napkin mapI think that's a telltale sign that we're not about to get any moar info out of this vessel.
>muh natural 20.. >>42966>monsters could come throughSo I'm guessing the move Grapple+Gate+Toss isn't worth the risk, despite its hilarity...
>>42978Yes, the scroll is still consumed by a miss-cast.
>>42980Its a flying stone. Its a stone that if you're not careful will fly away damaging a number of things along the way. Its not the source of the shield, and its not that the balloon (stone) is indestructable, its been layered over with a variety of protective materials, to prevent it from sustaining damage. Its almost like they thought compromising the vehicle's flight was an effective strategy that opponents might employ.
>>42979A bunch of little sketches, they don't make any sense by themselves.
>>42983>the scroll is still consumed by a miss-castI guess I'd better invest moar points in that skill then..
Scrolls are handy though, if you have the right skills to use them.
>>42984Actually, I just realized that that Summon Monster 1 wand wouldn't work unless Trumpaladin rolled 20 to activate it... Glad I realized that before he wanted to use it..
Aside from what's listed on the Wands list, can you create wands for other spells?
>>42985Pretty much any spell 4th level or lower
>>42986What kinds of spells can you create potions for?
>>42981>Implying I didn't know thatDo you think you're the only person who keeps prodding and trying long after you've received a "no" answer?
>>42985>The Indian givingreeeee
>>42986That's good to know then. Wands are even handier than scrolls in that regard.
>>42987Also interested.
I was going to ask if a Transformation spell (whose focus is a Potion of Bull's Strength), could be cast on the potion and be given to others.
>>42988>reeeeeSorry.. I mean, you can still keep the wand, Tracy already made herself another one (a summon monster I wand is dirt cheap to make).
>>42987Just about anything 4th or lower, with exception.
>>42989Yes but more costly/difficult/time-consuming to produce, and don't break them.
>>42991How long does it take to craft a 1st-level spell wand?
>>42992Depends on the spell and caster level. 3rd level magic missile takes 3 days, 9th level takes 7 days. Also, wands cost experience to craft.
>>42993I wanted to craft a True Strike wand for Tracy. How long and how much XP would that cost?
>>42994Minimal XP or caash/materials. Did I say 3-7 days for magic missile (true strike would be comparable)? That's just to
make the wand. I missed the part about having to effectively cast the spell in question 50 times (once per charge). So, longer.
>>42995What's the amount of time it takes to cast a spell with a wand?
>>42996Its a brilliant idea though, making an otherwise tedious spell significantly more useful.
>>429971 standard action, meaning that a character could use the wand as an action and make a single strike with their weapon (waiving the 5' movement) in the same round.
Friendly reminder: Dragon pony cohort
>>43000>>42999Go back to stealing waifus.
>>42998Neat! Is there a minimum number of spells to place in a wand, or can it hold like 5? After the number of spells is spent, can the wand be "recharged" or must a new one be crafted?
>>43001>Implying the dragon won't be a waifu >>43002A wand is just a storage device: it holds up to 50 spells.
Casting a spell from a wand is normally a standard action, unless the spell in question takes longer to cast.
>>43002According to the Wiki:
>Each wand has 50 charges when created, and each charge expended allows the user to use the wand’s spell one time. A wand that runs out of charges is just a stick.Does that entail that it takes 50 days to create a wand, and that it can't be recharged thereafter?
>>43002One spell per wand, rechargeable but ineffective unless completely recharged.
(the rules say they aren't but I say blah)
>>4300450 casts, not necessarily 50 days
>>43005Good. Better to have a wand of True Strike than for her to carry around a bunch of scrolls.
