In the far-off, northern island of Mended Horn, the party there has learned that they face an enemy they have dubbed "The Traveller." They have decided to go to an old, abandoned village there in hopes of rescuing some communist sailors.
In Baltimare, Dark Star tries to get things in order, while Virgin Flame looks for her old friend.

>>186115"I'm inclined to agree, and for different reasons I am as unnerved by the Traveler becoming a asset - more like a ticking time-bomb - of ANY military/government ponies."
>>186113"Even if they plan to fight the Traveler, there's no telling whether they will have any success. And if they get the whammie, we 'll likely have to fight them at some point anyway. The military ponies don't seem aware of our presence, but the Traveler most assuredly does. I hate to say it, but I think our best bet - if we're to survive and NOT eventually fall under the hell of an un-Equestrian abomination - is to take advantage of the military ponies' movements, and take the Traveler by surprise. Worst-case scenario, we still have to fight off the military, but we MIGHT garner the aid of "suddenly freed from crazy-mind-bondage" ponies on the freighter."

>>186120I'm not really certain what Vir would do in this situation but I know I can't stop myself from making her do this, so she's doing it. ^^
>Ahhhh skreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!Vir nods sagely. Clearly, there's a bunch of tension ins those wings that needs out. Muscles were made to swim around in amoeba filled rivers, not to push paper.
Vir mounts the mare or climbs up on her while push her down. Just to get better access and control over her wing to truly begin her massage. Perhaps if she did a good enough job, the bap would consider converting. Perhaps that's what ponies meant when they talked about the missionary position.
With one hoof, she shuts the door. We don't wanna bother the others. And with the other hoof, she scopes up the wing and proceeds to drag her tongue along a bony finger in the wing. As she reach it's point, she nimble on it as if she was trying to peel a banana.

Can we decide right now if we're going to board the ship, or if we go find the Marines first? I thought we were set on boarding the ship. It's right in front of us.

>>186129Is that correct. str mod + improved grapple?
>>186129Well, what ever I guess. :'C my snuggie
>>186130It wouldn't really matter, because you rolled a Nat 1. Grapples, and all other attacks, fail on nat 1s (unless the opponent also gets a nat 1).
>>186130Oh, pardon, you also add your base attack bonus
I'm really not set to any particular outcome; we could do either or split and do both. Brie in CHARACTER thinks we should kill the traveler now, but now it comes down to what everyone wants to do including GM, who I could imagine BOTH wanting and not wanting to split the party in this way.
Let's just go to the ship. If we travel again, we'll practically be guaranteeing more encounters with the summons, and we don't benefit from fighting summons at all. The marines can wait an extra hour for us to storm the ship.
>>186134>>186135I don't want to really spoil things, but since GM pone is having trouble finding a way to say it in the game: going to deal with the Traveler first will result in a full or at least partial failure of the primary mission objectives.
Anyways, Kira knows how important stopping the Traveler is, that's why she wants to go off on her own to find the missing marines and complete the objective. She's not the best suited for combat, but she's perfectly suited both for tracking down the marines and avoiding encounters using survival and stealth.
>>186137Well, that does change my opinion. Let's do the job that pays us first.
Let's just fast-track the travel to the lighthouse. Roll Survival to help us avoid encounters.
>>186138Equally, then let's go marines first. The intention isnt to derail or unravel any plans. The Traveler freaks Brie out and he wants to kill it cuz thats what he knows; when all you have is a hammer,.... but as a player, I want it to play out as best as possible, and I dont mind a little railroading if it will help.
>>186133Ah, I see. Good to know.
>>186132Yeah, I realized on my way back that that nine was due to nat 1.
I'm excited for what will happen with my crit fail. ^^
>>186128>>186134The debate is more along the lines of whether we split the party or not, because the urgency has increased. Cavaliere is reluctant to do so but is the best suited (aside from Dust) to help Kira locate and protect the ponies. He would not want her to be alone because he knows how dangerous it is.
I also don't think they're at the lighthouse.
>>186137>don't want to spoil things>spoils things
Just make a decision and I will follow it.
>>186142The urgency has increased, yes, but that may be as much a thematic thing of 'mounting tension' and uncertainty of the 'best' course of action, weighed versus obligation and morality of completing the mission and THEN handling business.
Its a tough call cuz its well designed.
We might take further discussion, to OOC?
>>186142>>186143>>186144GM pone is deciding whether or not he should say something, he doesn't like saying stuff out of character usually or railroading so sometimes he needs a little extra nudge to give us the direction we need not only to complete our mission but also make the game more fun for us as well as for him.
>>186147It's nice of him but there has been plenty of indication that all aspects of this quest have urgency. If we collectively ignore that then we deserve to reap the consequences. Take the encounter outside of the village. We delayed ourselves so the monsters were on top of us by the time we noticed.
>>186147Appreciated. When gaming in person or even over voice chat, you can use your body language or voice to pffer subtle cues and indications, which arent possible online in the standard form. This is why a little railroading is okay in this context. More than anything, I dont want any effort to go to waste if possible, especially over mixed signals (ffs, that fucking goat).
I was of the impression that the Traveler was being made increasingly significant as an incentive designed to steer us toward the freighter.
>>186148>the villageAs said, the village was a very understandable but very odd/nuanced situation where I had reason to believe that there was something to the goat. It was stupid, but in context my conclusion was logical, given some DMs with GM prior and leading up to.
Which is also why Im okay with a little railroading.
>>186123"Oh no, I'm already volunteering, I Was looking for a Job for two of my friends."
He nods
>>186135>The marines can wait an extra hour for us to storm the ship.Do you think the communist reinforcements that are landing on the island are going to sit around and wait for that hour? More to the point, once the Traveller is defeated, do you think they will have anything left to do except kill the party and kill the airmen?
>If we travel again, we'll practically be guaranteeing more encounters with the summonsWhat do you want? At first, you were listing numbers of admittedly pretty decent random encounters to fight just because you wanted to fight. Then your character deliberately provoked the Traveller into hostility when he wasn't initially hostile, and then furthermore you've provoked multiple new summons within combat. Then you asked if your character could be in
more danger. And now you complain that there are too many encounters and they are too pointless. What do you want? You complain the combat is too easy. You complain the combat is too hard. You complain it is too easy immediately after saying it is too hard immediately after saying it is too easy. You want combat that has no relevance to the story but as soon as there are less than a handful of fights that serve the story it's too much combat and the story needs to be shorter. Likewise on the loot, you say that the magic items belonging to the party are suited for level 12, and then every character that has been around for a year has so many magic weapons they are literally giving them away. Then you say that too many enemies are not dropping loot. Then you don't care much when enemies that have pockets and wallets to raid have money and various items on them. What do you want? Would you rather we eliminated that damned cursed crown, we eliminated the agreed upon pay out, we eliminated any possibility of magic items in safes on the ship or artifacts in the research bay, or of rescued NPCs or their families paying out rewards, or of taking pictures of the Traveller and leveraging them for more money - basically if we took every single reward and completely replaced it with dice rolls from standardized tables for gold pieces and gems. Would you prefer it if we did that? What do you want? No seriously, what do you want? You're like a cat that wants to be let outside. Then come back inside. Then let back outside. Then come back inside. Then outside then inside then outside then inside. Do you want combat or not? Do you want a complete overhaul of the way in which loot works or not? What do you want? It's driving me insane. Fucking pick something.

We could just roll a dice, if push comes to shove.
>>186254Silver: "В чем дело?" -
"What's the matter?"
>>186260>>186258>>186255Let Silver finish up this conversation with Paltry and hopefully convince him to defect, then I'll put part 1 of my plan into action.
>>186264 "Конечно, они не могут быть здесь, чтобы убить нас, верно?" -
"Surely they can't be here to kill us, right?" He repeats for what is now the third time to say more or less the same thing
>>186268Silver extends a hoof to Paltry. "Пойдем с нами. Мы убьем Путешественника, спасем твоих товарищей и сохраним тебя в безопасности." -
"Come with us. We will kill the Traveler, save your comrades, and keep you safe."
>>186269He looks up to Silver, then down to the hoof, and takes a deep breath, letting it out. Then he extends his hoof to Silver's
"Хорошо, но... Как можно убить черного бога?" -
"Okay, but uh... How can you kill the black god?"
>>186270Silver takes Paltry's hoof, and stands him up straight. "С упорством, решимостью и множеством пуль." -
"With tenacity, determination and lots of bullets." For emphasis, he motions to the guns that he and Mala both have on their persons. "Посмотри, смогут ли твои товарищи стоять и двигаться самостоятельно. Мы выдвигаемся отсюда через минуту." -
"See if your comrades can stand and move on their own. We'll be moving out of here in a minute."With Paltry on board, Silver begins executing his plan for the operation, starting with going to one of the captured and conscious possessed ponies. He removes the blindfold and earplugs from the pony. "Hey Traveler, are you still there?"
>>186271Paltry shakes his head at the "kill it with bullets" remark, evidently unpersuaded.
He looks over at the other two ponies who are, or have been, unconscious
"Я не думаю, что они могут ходить самостоятельно. Ещё нет. Не скоро." -
"I don't think they can walk on their own. Not yet. Not soon." Although if one was given a health potion, maybe that one could standSilver removes the cloth over the eyes of one of the few prisoner ponies. His dilated pupils do not narrow in the light, but instead simply move side to side before settling on Silver
Speaking in a voice not accented to Severyanan, he says,
"Our Fellow Traveller has been around since before time divided that which is and that which is not. Yes. He is here." [Read more]

Silver: "I have given it some thought, and I must say what you offer is quite incredible. However, there has been incident which will get in way of you completing your promise to this world. I assume you have been able to sense disturbance on this island, just very recently?"
>>186275 "Yes, open up your mind, and we can start on the journey towards Progress. The beginning of this... 'Pathway Forward', as you ponies call it. Yes, we know there is a presence of many more ponies, we can feel them. Did the Commissar send them? Did the Commissar send you? Are you with the Commissar?"
Brie is waiting with baited breath on Silver's next words
>>186276"Commissar asked for them, yes. They are ponies from Defense Intelligence Agency. They seek to silence your vessels, to 'subdue' you, as laughable as that may seem. They have come en masse to North Bay of island seeking to oppose your Progress, seeking to go backwards on this Pathway. With being as powerful, ancient, and mighty as yourself, I believe they would stand little chance against you. I believe they simply need to be...
enlightened, if you understand my euphemism and manner of speaking."
>>186278Brie was so into it, until Silver said "enlightened",... "eviscerated" would have been so much better,... alas
>>186278"'Vessels'? Is that what you think of them? We are friends. No, we do not understand 'Euphemism'. Why do you hylomorphs hide things? How horrible is it that meaning must be hidden behind the veil of language and not simply communicated past biophysical barriers? When there is Unity - when true Harmony is complete - there shall be no such thing. But we believe we understand. The wretched Commissar has rejected Progress and has sent in allies. The path to progress will be blocked by those who benefit from the Ancien Regime, as we have been told. We will reeducate them if we can, and stop them by force if we must.

>>186282Silver: "Ah, I must ask for your forgiveness for my transgression, we are but humble ponies who are slaves to our prior habits and cultural understandings. But yes, they must be reeducated or stopped, for while Path to true Harmony may not always be paved with smoothest of stones, we must tread along it regardless."
>>186282Oh, Im quite aware, but Brie wants to make an entrance. And also he wanted to see what guile Silver would opt for
>>186285To this end, Brie will circle behind this proxy pont
rot intensifies
"Have we decided which way we are going yet?"
>>186283The pony makes a sudden exhalation that sounds like a hiss.
"Ah! We knew that Commissar was an anti-revolutionary snake. Light Water was right not to trust him, and the Stalliongraders. They are too comfortable as they are to want to move. To give up their mastery. If they could see what Our Fellow Traveller could give them they would want that more. Open up your minds that they may work through you as well."
>"Thralls do not talk nearly as much back in Magehold...">>186283"Silver, just what are you trying to accomplish here? He's thoroughly brainwashed. Are you looking for information?"
>>186290"Hes working on a con job," Brie whispers
>>186254^^ That's a lengthy reply. I liked the read.
"Thank you again. I'm grateful that your helping me despite, uhh, my missteps," Vir says as she scratches the back of her neck. "Also, I have another question. Perhaps you can help me? Do you know anypony named Hope's Anchor?"
>>186288>>186290>>186286Silver: "Indeed we would, but we have tasks which we must see to in order to oppose these reactionaries who stand against you and your offering, to gather more to see your Light. Worry not, Our Fellow Traveler. Before all is said and done, when Commissar and his allies have been defeated once and for all, we shall come into your Unity."
Silver then puts the blindfold and earplugs back on the possessed pony, before addressing the party. "I just sicced Traveler on DIA forces landing on island. With any luck, they will come into conflict shortly, distracting them both while we complete mission we came here for. Then we gather all of us together, and assault Kostroma to end this." He turns to the snek in the party. "Kira, can you use your tracking ability to look for those lost marines?"
Kira: "Yes sir!"
Track: Kira, using a combination of survival skills, general knowledge of geography, and her natural lamia senses, attempts to locate a trail leading them to the lost marines.
[1d20+11 = (9+11) = 20]Silver: "Rest of us, let us get move on. We are taking possessed ponies and commies with us. Give commies potion of cure moderate wounds if they need it to get their unconscious members moving."

>>186293>I just sicced Traveler on DIA forces landing on island"Are you sure it would fall for that? It seems too intelligent for me. The thrall you spoke through is not necessarily representative of the master." Posey says skeptically
"Every single DIA that the Traveller assimilates into its herd is another thrall that we will have to fight later. Oh well, it is too late to go back now. Let us make haste." she says, picking up her saddlebags, stretching her legs, and getting ready to trot

Okay, it’s a Bolshevik phrase. The acronym is “GRU.” Not “DIA” as if it’s the “diverse intelligence agency”

>>186296Ah, okay, just working with what was said to Silver.
Oh wait, I forgot.
Did we decide if we were going to take the body of the doctor? If not, I'm going to take his head before we leave if nobody is going to miss it.
>>186300Why only his head?
>>186301It's all I need, and all that I can get away with carrying for now.

>>186304>I'm not sure how well the commie ponies would appreciate you taking their former doctor's headWe're not supposed to leave a good impression on them. We're pirates.
I don't mind leaving it. Let's just get to the light house.
>>186296Btw, is Vir and Dark Star in the same building right now?
>>186309Yes actually
>>186292She first swivels her ears, then turns her head around. Then she turns her whole body.

>>186310How long does it take the group to get to the lighthouse?
>>186313Is the group even going to the lighthouse at all? Because that is very far from clear to me
>>186293Kira, unfortunately, is limited in her ability to smell, given a relatively strong wind from the south that makes it difficult, perhaps even impossible, to smell anything from the northern part of the island.
And yet, she can smell Equines, on the hill that's up in front of where the party first landed.
>>186314>Is the group even going to the lighthouse at all? Because that is very far from clear to meIdk, but I we've decided to save the marines, and it's easier for everyone if the party is not split up, so let's just go there as a group. We've been wondering for too long.
Besides, I want Posey to be there to charm/persuade the Marines in case they're suspicious of us.
So let's just all follow Kira.
>>186315>So let's just all follow KiraWhat a great idea!
Posey sends her Dreads up into the air to scout from above.

>>186310Vir almost chokes on her gasp. Her eyes go wide as saucers and her shakes backwards.
"You do? You know Hope's?" Vir moves forward for a just moment but stops herself almost instantly, hoping not to frighten the mare she already caused so much pain.
>>186310>Dark star is in the houseHehe, maybe will run into each other.
>>186326Idk, if Dark Star wants to go on this ride. Vir is quite the stronk earth mare -- her horsepussy constricts like a boa.
>>186327.. have u met Dark Star? You havent met Dark Star
>>186327Oh my…
She may need to be renamed once Dark Star is done with her
>>186324Her eyes widen and her tufted ears pull up. Evidently she is somewhat frightened. But then she responds
“I’ve seen her a few times. I wouldn’t say I know her that well.”
>>186328No, sadly I haven't yet. Is there something I should know? Is he allergic to something? Perhaps nuts? ;P
>>186330No spoilers
Its not bad
>>186329>>186328Jokes aside. It's unlikely to happen.
I'm too lazy to change her name. She's complicated but basically she's looking for a stallion with a lot of honor. But maybe, I don't really know Dark Star after all.
>>186314>>186315>>186319Okay, am back.
Kira: "I think I've found them! They're near where we landed. Follow me!"
Kira happily slithers towards the source of the smell, leading the party along to their hopeful destination.
>>186333>tripsAnything can happen. Hes a solid dood, who might jump on a grenade for u.
>>186334Fwap fwap, Brie lifts off and maintains his 40' semi-close proximity
>>186329Vir makes a calming hoof gesture towards the mare to placate her.
"Is she a unicorn. Blue
hehe, I don't remember if her fur was blue or green ^^ fur?" Vir asks.
She stays at a distance and still but her eyes are still wide.
>>186335>Hes a solid dood, who might jump on a grenade for u.Aww, how nice. What a gentlemen. If they were on the Grand Galloping Gala together and there was a puddle in the way, would he throw his leather jacket into it for Vir to use as a bridge? ^^
Also, are trips more
powerful if they are of '3's rather than say '4's? ^^
>>186341>gentlemanIts more he's self-sacrificing
(Sorry, shooshes)
>>186347Nice edit. You really put a lot of effort into those. Comfy ^^
>>186350Thanks, its not the best i did it pretty quickly
>>186334Are there any checks I can make to help us get there?
>>186329>She may need to be renamed once Dark Star is done with herAlso, this phrasing makes me feel objectified. Mean.
>>186327>objectifiedNot the intention I'm sure, but you did post this,... I mean,...
>>186355Fuckin' victim blaming. Tch tch tch. I expected better. ^^
>>186358>victim blaming<Tol'ye ' e wuz gon' say tha'*sighs*
>>186357Well one would hope so with Virgin in the name, but GM's point seems to be that Dark Star (not to exclude Silver, but hes on mission Xp) might find motovation to call into question the apprpriateness of her name. None of this is a criticism either, lewding ponies is one of many features to this game ^_^
>>186360>Dark Star... ...the apprpriateness of her name.I doubt this. Dark Star would never take advantage of her Vir's innocence. He's too noble. ^^
But we can be friends instead, how about that? ^^
Heh, I guess this is who woman feel, you get attention cause you can gift them with sex.
Though to set the record straight, the thing with the bap made me remember who Vir is and isn't. What she isn't, is a pony who basically molests a bap for their wings and what she is, is somepony who is quite sheltered from sex and such things.
She's definitely saving herself for marriage if she even considered that any stallion would find a bulky warthog of a mare like her appealing. She hates the blackhooves and probably wouldn't hook-up with one.
It's also a bit awkward to have sex with another pc, especially if you play as the girl. Or maybe not. Idk, I haven't done it.
Bottom line: While I'm a pervert and could see Vir having sex with every single pc in the entire game, Vir isn't. She's quite far from it.
>>186362>weirdUh,... not gonna go there outside DMs. Not to criticize, rather to explain in detail why theres nothing actually wrong with it, how I know, and why I neither regret knowing enough to have the position
don't I do but niether am inclined to do so, with respect.
Its not gay, cuz mares
>>186329For future reference:
1. Is there a limit to the number of pictures in the camera? Not gonna go nuts, just gonna describe documenting things
2. Is it too late for Brie to have documented some of Silver's conversation with the Thrall?
While traveling, Brie will take some good photos of the thrall chain-gang
>>186337At an available moment, Brie would catch Silver,' attention.
"Excellent thinking with the Traveler, I had something quite similar in mind, though I'll admit it only occurred to me after you began speaking to the thrall yourself. To that end, while we don't have a recording device, we might be able to coax a/that thrall to speak over the radio. Not sure what use it might be, but at this stage we have to consider every possible move at our disposal, and as you so aptly appreciate in your own right, control of information is one of those things that can be used to our advantage."
Have a coot fox
>>186363I suppose so. It's pretty abstract after all. I do have some distance between myself and Vir.
>>186364Well, I'm gonna be honest and say that I don't see the appeal and I don't think I approve. However, I don't believe in rejection of people's beliefs and opinions since the only way people can truly understand each other is if they are completely genuine with each other. So thanks for being honest. ^^
Besides, I don't feel like judging since I have jerked off to the scenario of fucking Twilight Velvet and Mrs. Cake over and over again throughout the years. I have cucked their husbands so many times and I keep getting away with it. If life was fair, the stallions of Ponyville would have nailed me down years ago and decorated a nearby tree with my entrails. But this is not a perfect world. But, yeah, then I feel like my feeling on how woman feel has been vindicated. ^^

Also, as an aside, I figured out what Vir's change should be if she has sex: Vril Flame. ^^

>>186347Hehe, hope you don't feel objectified but here's a picture of my character doing an esoteric form of medical check up on yours.
Sadly, the oekaki system has its quirks so I didn't get to finish it.
>>186372While the sentiment is appreciable,... no thank you. If it seemed you were being inconsiderate, my reaction would be... less than favorable. If we are to continue this exchange, perhaps we should move to the OOC thread
Are we doing things today?
If players are available, we could discuss a plan of action, and if anyone is interested, I could OOC about some of Brie's more nuanced multi-round combat maneuvers. GM is conceivably and understandably unavailable, unless he otherwise emerges (which hopefully this will reverse psychology him into doing so, so long as he doesnt figure out my clever ruse)
No lewding virgin mares!
>>186375>more nuanced multi-round combat maneuversLet's go over it before the actual session so we can work together more effectively. What do you have planned?
>>186376I'm all ears. Always glad to discuss tactics.
>>186379 →>>186380 →Posey's eyes go wide and her horn lights up like a lightbulb
"I have... An idea!"
>>186399"..... I have a plan to defeat the Traveller. I will meet me up by the Kostroma. I have a plan to neutralize the thralls too, so I will be taking the prisoner."
Posey begins to gallop in the direction of the village, with her floating disk in tow
>>186416"Wait," Brie swoops in, slips one of his grenades from hits molly-web. "Just in case," he offers the grenade (not a shitpost or anything, totally serious).
>>186416"Oh, don't look at me like that. You gave me these lovely eggs, and here I haven't fulfilled my end of the bargain on those lovely tribal pieces. I hope you'll take this, as an interim offer of value until I can make good on our agreement."
>>186416"What are you intending on doing with the prisoner?" Cavaliere queries. "Because of him your whereabouts will be always visible."
>>186419"~You will thank me later!" Posey shouts, evasively, as she gallops away
Wow, that mare can gallop
With her tireless body, she runs continuously, allowing her to double-hustle, effectively moving at 12 MPH (2x the party's regular travel speed, or 1.5x their speed if they're hustling), which means all said and done she should be able to easily accomplish her short task(s) and meet up with the party when all is said and done.
(Ponies should have 40-50 ft movement speed.)>Because of him your whereabouts will be always visibleThat's probably a good thing then, because it removes the spotlight from the rest of the party.
>>186422You can deny me the you. But I marked the grenade off my sheet
>>186422It’s a hell of a lot easier to get lost in wilderness than you may appreciate, or even to find a specific person in a building once you’re separated. I have not the slightest hint of an idea how Posey is supposed to find the party again once they’ve been separated given that the party is going to be on the move, but sure, Posey can separate from the group, for what I suspect will be until they meet again in Trottingham… except they haven’t agreed on what city they are going to after this, so…

>>186435Im not the one that ran off half-cocked. My support of the idea of her running off was precipitated on the idea that they would in some way partner with you to make it go smoothly. I know, I should know better. Anyway, it isn't hppeless yet
>>186433>It’s a hell of a lot easier to get lost in wilderness than you may appreciateHow big is this island?
I'll roll for it if I have to, but we haven't been rolling all this time so I didn't think it was necessary.
>I have not the slightest hint of an idea how Posey is supposed to find the party again once they’ve been separated given that the party is going to be on the moveShe just said she intended to meet them back at the Kostroma to fight The Traveller.
> Posey can separate from the group, for what I suspect will be until they meet again in Trottingham…That was not my intent. The whole point of this operation was to help fight The Traveller.
