Technically… a machine is laminating the card. The unicorn’s magic is doing something else that’s harder to discern.
Kira flicks her tongue in the air. She can taste the herbs the ponies categorize as spice… for some reason… and also… is that cumin? Wait. No. That’s Neela. Not sure why she’d smell like cumin. But she definitely smells like a cervine. A rather tasty cervine…
Kira can taste chili powder, some kind of chemical that’s presumably used to clean the floors, and the pervasive smell of ponies. It’s a good thing Kira is not habituated to associate the smell of equines with food, because otherwise, the smell would be maddening.
But there are no familiar spices.
