>>164343>>164362Silver fires his rifle at the drone who peaks over the rails and into the narrow space between the flights of stairs. One bullet is unaccounted for, likely having gone all the way to the ceiling. Another goes into the flight of stairs on the other side. And another would have hit the drone, save that the bottom of the set of stairs is in the way. There is a small explosion of wooden splinters. But another bullet seems to hit its mark, though exactly where and to what effect is hard to say. The creature flinches and pulls back out of sight.
From beneath and behind Silver, he can hear a

Silver can see the barrel of a gun just barely past the edge of the doorway. Not well aimed, but there.
>>164422Hmm...so, here's an idea. Since he can see the gun barrel, can he use his magic to pull the gun forward? Even if it remains in the changeling's grasp, perhaps he will be pulled out into the open for an easy shot.
>>164424Hmmmm.... this is doable from a close distance, but I'm not sure Silver is close enough for that to be viable. Silver is also presumably using magic to support the front of his rifle
>>164425Silver creeps closer to the gun.

As Silver goes up the stairs clockwise, approaching the door at the landing from the left, Silver does not see anycreature on the right side of the entryway. He can simply see a polished softwood floor, and a sort of coral-red colored wall.

>>164520Bang Bang Bang BangSilver hears nothing in reply
>>164521Can Silver see through the dust from the explosion to see what the scene looks like?
>>164522Yes.
Looking inside, Silver can see fallen ceiling tiles and bits of drywall covering parts of a varnished wood floor, which already has streaks of blue blood. The hallway goes two ways, left and right, though it is clear that most of the interest is to the left. To the left the hallway opens to elevator banks and ultimately, further back, a reception desk.
On the right, not far at all from the door, Silver sees a dead, black drone on the ground. He has a beige trench coat soaked in blue blood, a helmet that Silver recognizes as being Changeling military issue of the style of the last war, and next to him, he has a weapon that Silver has never seen before. The weapon is made almost entirely out of metal painted black, except with a wooden butt stock and bakelite handgrips. It has a long, curved and dimpled magazine in front of the grip, a gas block above the barrel, simple iron sights, and a barrel that is shorter than the Jenny's, but a length that is slightly greater.
To the left, where the hallway expands to include the elevator bank, Silver sees another dead drone leaning against the wall, in an area that would have been cover from an attack from the door. This drone has no clothing, but also has a military helmet. He has multiple bullet wounds, and a machine carbine before him.
>>164523Taking a hold of the helmet of the trench coated changeling and, much like he did with the gas mask, peaks it out slowly into the left side of the hallway.
>>164525Now Silver does the same with the right side.
>>164527Silver desides to risk it and peak his head out just barely so he can see around the corner.
>>164532Hmmm... which corner is Silver looking around?
>>164534The right corner is the opposite direction that Silver initially saw the drones. Going down the hallway right from the stairs has another elevator bank with two elevators with brass doors, and then the hallway turns another corner right. On that wall, Silver can see two opaque glass doors with rough texture and names in white letters written on them, evidently some sort of company. Silver sees no signs of life in this way as the lights are on in the hallway, but no light comes through the doors.
>>164535Silver opens the doors to check inside.
>>164538Hmm...well, they're made of glass, yes? How hard would it be for Silver to, say, bash the glass out using the butt of his Jenny?
>>164546ClashThe windows break open, and with a few more hits, Silver can see inside, or even unlock and open the doors. Silver sees a small reception area with a desk, and a hallway that has a couple offices, both with windows allowing some view inside. The offices appear to be in the condition they were left in when they were locked up the night before, with all lights off, and only a little natural sunlight from distant windows coming in.
>>164547Now that Silver can get inside, can he see if the doors were locked from the inside or outside?
>>164548The locks have a manual lock that allows them to be locked from the inside, and a key lock that allows them to be locked from the outside. No dead bolts are used, although the one by the hallway seems to have one.
>>164549So, they could have been locked from either side, then. Can Silver see inside the offices, in case there just so happens to be a hostage inside?
>>164550By walking into the hallway inside of the business, Silver can see into the offices through the glass windows.
>>164551Silver does so, careful not to cut his hooves on any of the glass from the door along the way.
>>164552The offices have plants, desks, bookshelves, chairs, and sometimes papers or books strewn about, but there do not appear to be any hostages inside
>>164554Well, it was worth a look at least. If the other opaque glass door before this leads somewhere else, Silver takes it upon himself to also bash it in.
>>164556CrashIt appears to be an approximately similar situation, with a conference room in the front on the left, and some open desks on the right, with Silver seeing windows letting in light from the rising sun on the far right.
>>164557Silver enters, checking the area for hostages or unusual activity.
>>164558Silver goes past the conference room, and past the set of desks, towards an office in the back that has the blinds on most of the windows down. At first he doesn't see it, as a bookshelf, the position of the office away from the rising sun, as well as the closed blinds, cause the interior of the room to be darker than say, the desks in the open area next to the east-facing windows. But there it is: behind a desk with papers and an open bottle, Silver can see what seems to be not one, but two ponies, crouching down on a couch.
>>164560Silver stops upon seeing the ponies. He goes towards them, crouching low and whispering to them.
"Are you hostages we heard about?"
>>164562Laying on the couch and in front is a tan colored Pegasus mare with a black mane, let down and somewhat disheveled. She turns her head quickly towards Silver, and looks at him with wide, green eyes. She immediately starts to get up off of the couch, and starts to move towards Silver.
“Hostages?! What?” She’s definitely startled. The other pony is a white unicorn stallion. He seems to be laying down asleep.
>>164563Silver looks confused at the pair of ponies. The wounded and armed stallion takes a slightly more defensive pose when she approaches, but remains calm.
"You did not hear gunfire and explosions?"
>>164564The mare already looks frightened, but she’s even more so as Silver says that
“I’d that what that banging was?!”
The stallion opens his eyes and thrusts his head upwards, looking around.
“What time is it? What are you doing here? It’s supposed to be a holiday.”
The mare adds
“Heh do you have guns?”
The stallion’s dress shirt is completely unbuttoned and disheveled. He attempts to button it up as he sits up. He smells like Apple Whiskey.
“We were just working over the weekend.”
The mare volunteers,
“To catch up on paperwork while elective surgeries are all cancelled.”
She too, starts to put on a shirt, taking a black shirt off of a chair near the couch.
>>164565Silver grabs a flashlight (either off of himself or off of Spec), and asks the mare, "Could you keep your eyes open, please? Just for one second?"
>>164566Green, bloodshot, and glassy. She winces and closes her eyes
“Ah! Don’t do that!”
She too smells of alcohol, though not so strongly that Silver can identify the brand.
>>164567Not changelings. He didn't think they were, but he had to be sure.
"We are members of Homeguard. War was declared against Changeling Hegemony and changeling agents all across city have been activated, including several that have stationed here in this building and have taken hostages."
>>163667>>163669>>163670>>163671I apologize for being away so long.If the officer moves to the other side, would Amber be plainly visible? Or could Amber move around the sheep to remain undetected?
>>164573The officer is making his passes by moving to the side of the hall away from the stall, and peering in. The officer has already inspected Amber’s stall, and Amber had thus far evaded detection by hiding closely behind a sheep. The officer has moved on to a stall across the central hallway, meaning that he is close to Amber’s stall, by the divider between Amber’s stall and the stall on the left.
>>164568The mare is stunned
“What… war? Those really were gunshots?”
The stallion rolls over and stands up besides the couch. Or rather, he attempts to. In actuality, he miscalculates where his leg goes, and he stumbles and falls down, placing a hoof on the chair next to the couch to try to stand himself up.
“What?! It’s supposed to be a holiday.” And then as he stands up, “This is my office, it’s okay for me to be here.”
>>164575So the officer is closer to Amber's stall at the moment? Is he close to the stall's doorway?
>>164576He is close, though he’s closer to the railing on the left. The door is a little further to the right. The railing is just a pair of wooden beams.
>>164577If Amber leaps over the railing, would that count as a standard action?
>>164578Yes. It’s perfectly doable with her class
>>164575Silver looks at the stallion, but addresses both of the ponies.
"Dark Star has called for mandatory evacuation of city, and this is active combat zone. I need both of you to stay here in this room and keep out of sight until we have cleared building of hostiles, then we will come back for you, call for evac, and get all of you out of here."
>>164579Amber braces herself, for she is trapped in a desperate situation. But it is better to take initiative while she can and gain the upper hoof–or claw, in this case. While the officer is distracted she vaults the railing and attempts to land an attack.
[1d20 = 5] >>164580The stallion isn’t quite able to stand on all fours, but with one hoof on the couch he stabilized himself. He looks over at Silver with giant, wide eyes.
“Uh, whatever you say” he says
