Historically people believed in gravity way way before heliocentrism. They're not really related. It was viewed more like objects moving towards "their natural state", but a force that pulled them down depending on their mass still.

Ok. Run a simulation in your head for me. You have a tank of water, in it is a beach ball. The beach ball is less dense than the water. Then what? What happens? You need a force acting on the mass to pull the water underneath so the beach ball is pushed up. What force is it that pulls on matter?

1) That's not acceleration. Acceleration means speeding up, but every part keeps moving at the same speed. A centrifugal force isn't acceleration.
2) Do you get thrown off a merry-go-round when standing on it? What about one that only rotates once every 24h the size of a planet? Tangential speed doesn't mean a force, and we actually spin pretty slowly very far from the centre of the spin, meaning there's next to no force put on us.
