There is a small road on the other side of this alley, with a line of buildings that look mostly like single houses, and further to the right is what seems like a larger, almost warehouse like building. Silver can smell salt and fish, and through gaps in the houses there he can see what seems to be the harbor bay on the other side of the houses. But Loputu goes down just a few feet on the left, to an opening on a building that was a part of the apartment block around the garden plot, just on the other side.
They go up a set of external stairs, made of wood, up to a landing on the second level. Silver can't quite see over the houses, but there is nothing beyond them, just the clear, full moon night.
