Occupied Equestria - Into the Unknown
Anonymous

No.101000
101004 101008
Set six years after season 6, Occupied Equestria presents an alternative history where the Changelings have conquered half of Equestria, while a former Equestrian colony - soured to Princess Twilight's notion of harmony with all creatures because of their encounters with griffins - Invaded and took the other half. In Baltimare and the Equestrian Southeast, the magic of friendship has weakened, as Communists, Changeling infiltrators, Fascists, gangs, and corrupt creepy politicians threaten the city. This role play is based in large part upon the Equestria at War mod for Hearts of Iron 4, and uses D&d 3.5e mechanics.

The long train ride to Bales is over, with Brie, Onyx, and Spark reaching their destination a little bruised but not dead or arrested. Before them lies a new and unfamiliar city and world, at the crossroads of Equestria's past and present, and also the Changeling Occupied Zone and East Equestria. In Baltimare, Dark Star prepares to set out on a mission to track down and arrest unfaithful and unreliable local law enforcement that have been leaking information to rebel forces. Silver may finally have a new toy he can use to clear the Catacombs of their undead presence. Iron, meanwhile, has drifted further into an temple in his search for a treasure sough by an archaeological expedition that was ambushed by bandits.

This area is less densely populated than the Eastside, though not quite as wealthy as the North. There are a number of singe family bungalows on eighths of acres, a a few small apartment buildings, and some larger shop buildings, as well as the occassional warehouse or distribution center. He passes by a school, and a precinct annex. The architecture of the area is dominated by red brick, though there are a few wooden houses of white paint and low sloped slate roofs

I did a practice run of it

This update pretty much kills any normal, reasonable means of expansion on a New Mareland run (or Zebra colony campaign, for that matter) on historical mode.

New Mareland has the major problem that it is sandwiched between two Great Powers (kind of three). The only nations within the range of its ships are Wingbardy and friends (sharing a land border), Aquellia (across a strait), Sicameon, and Minotauria (only if you try to expand the range of the Navy). The basic strategy as New Mareland is always to expand south, into Sicameon and then Minotauria, or even better, Minotauria then Sicameon. After that, the Free Towns of Gryphus are vulnerable, or even the Zebra colony, Cyanolisia, or Falcor. Then, Zaphzia and Prywhen can be attacked. By this time, a war with Aquellia can be managed, and at least one naval ship is built. Expanding into Minotauria especially is essential, because only the southern Griffonian nations have rubber, which is crucial to planes and motorized. For the same reason, you should try to invade it as the Zebra colony.

A few updates ago, both Minotauria and Sicameon were massively buffed, with starting armies that would each be twice the size of the New Mareland Starting army. Now, the two will automatically create a faction together. this would raise the difficulty as New Mareland, though maybe be too much for the Zebras to overcome. What is really new is the Navy of Sicameon. Sicameon gets two Battlecruisers, and a shitload of other vessels. i think their navy is bigger than Aquellia's, and probably the third or fourth biggest on the whole continent. There is absolutely no way to invade Sicameon or Minotauria now as New Mareland on historical mode. The only two nations within range are now the great powers of Wingbardy and Aquellia, which are difficult enough to defeat with years of preperation. That will now have to be done without rubber, or the factories and resources New Mareland used to be able to get from invading south.

I guess maybe it's possible to play on non-historical, hope they never form the southern pact, then invade Minotauria, then invade Sicameon through that little straight. Still though

Well hello there, dialogue.
Iron does his best not to look nosy.
"I wonder what is making them so confident in that they will grab everything," Iron whispers just for Cauldron to overhear. "Do they have a secret weapon capable of scaring us away?"
He is a bit worried about the lack of ponies in Pear's personal life.
(No relatives to miss as well as incentive to fight back? That could complicate things. After my actions I am pretty sure I cannot exploit her lack of affection.)
He sneakes a glance on Pear's rear.
(While the view is nice, she seems to have been used by another stallion.)
He shakes his head.
(A shame about her luck with the stallion. Perhaps I should make my move with Cauldron when we get to safety with those pots, so as to not make her suffer Pear's fate.)

That's... exactly the opposite of what that entire train of dialogue was hinting

She is rather thin. Her tail is currently wrapped thin (which makes her easier to see), presumably as a measure to keep her tail from getting caught in anything in the jungle

He looks at Cauldron.
"Could they do the authority thing?" he whispers.

Iron is a bit weary over Pear's thin frame.
(While my father told me a mare can handle most stallions, she will probably have to get used to anypony bigger than her.)
He glances the best he can at Cauldron's rear from the side to compare the thickness.

It's circa 1940, premarital sex is really only socially accepted where a partner is betrothed to be married. Pear is Bourgeois, and that group especially tends to be conservative. Grant explicitly says "lose your maidenhood" which is old timey for "virginity"
"Not in the jungle"

Cauldron is definitely thicker. Pear, in general, has the physique of a unicorn, despite being an earth pony, and seems to work mostly indoors, although she is adjusting to the jungle and caverns fairly well (including the aforementioned tail improvisation). She may well be stronger and more durable than she looks, with earth pony magic

Right. Forgot the importance of virginity for most mares.
Iron nods, having taken her glance.
"Good to know."
(Maybe the Earth Pony magic in her will awaken and strengthen in time if she lives in the jungle in time? She was able to make it this far without breaking much of a sweat, excluding the fights where she hid. Perhaps she could become more like us.)
Glancing between the two mares, his mind is processing.
(Should I go for the Earth Pony who has a negative opinion of me but is ultimately alone and would be eager to be in the jungle in order to get some history and get away from the annoying traditions of cityfolk or the zebra who has a positive opinion of me overall but chained to the concrete jungle by so many responsibilities as well as being in constant danger of being taken away due to her forced occupation?)
A little drop of sweat starts trickling down from the side of his forehead as he walks.
(Why does my soul throw these problems at me?)

I took another look at the map, and found that under this new system, it’s still possible to naval invade Cyanolisia when selecting only heavy cruisers or vessels with longer range. The Hauklands are also in range (though they have no resources) and so is Vedina. So it would be possible to invade Cyanolisia, then Minotauria-Sicameon, although they would have like 30 units with no opportunity to for a simple encirclement, making it not much easier than invading something like Prywhen
