Romance-writer anon, go read some good romance novels. Then go read some popular romance fimfics. They're nothing like real relationships, but that's how you write a "Good" romance novel: The fantasy in which two likable characters you want to get together do so. Romance stories are read by the literal lowest common denominator (Even lower than 4chan generalfag greentexts) so you don't need authenticity, you need spectacle. You don't need romantic experience to write a romance novel. So go read some popular romantic stories, and rip them the fuck off.

I am writing the story of two highly different characters finding a common note through a shared love for a subject and, as a result becoming increasingly lost in eachother until it culminates in one losing the other after being blinded to the circumstances of their relationship for so long, effectively turning the story into a classical tragedy as they desperately try to recover from their hubris and regain a semblance of their past life through expertise in said subject.

I'll give it a minor rewrite after I read the official show bible, to mostly reflect its canon.
