It's less the individual retailers that you have to worry about than it is the major banking firms that actually drive the process. They have the means to make cash unavailable to retail stores, and to buy up and rejig stores until there's none left that accept cash. Even if you boycott retail stores you're just prolonging the inevitable if you do nothing to stop the banks, because eventually you'll just have nowhere to buy from.

I don't really think there's anything that bad about 15 minute cities as a concept, as opposed to regular, sprawling cities. Cities tend to be massive shitholes regardless, but being able to walk from the place you work to the supply shop isn't that bad.
Thing about it is that you can't just convert a regular city into a 15 minute city: you have to build a new one from scratch. People asking for 15 minute cities don't realize that they would have to move if they wanted to live in them (and also that their housing prices would be astronomical, as in any city); and people who think it's the hairy scary dystopian boogeyman seem to forget that regular cities are already like that.

The actual retarded part would be that the housing in the city would be unaffordable, so people would have to rent on the outskirts around the city, causing the city to sprawl regardless. People who can afford to live in the center could have decent quality of life, but a bigger city would form around it to meet worker demand and thus defeat the purpose. It's just not logistically viable in America.

Yes there are. They're just subtle (see: pricing you out of the decent parts of the city, and cutting the affordable sections off from where the elites live with uncrossable roads).
Also, these are plans for metropolis, not 15 minute cities. The whole point of 15 minute cities is not needing transit, and the this video opens with transit.

There's lots of criticisms to the 15 minute city zoning concept (they're impractical, expensive to live in, and there's no way to prevent urban sprawl), but you should address what's actually being proposed.
