Can we have the ability to have ideology flags like old /pol/ used to do? Ones like NatSoc flag, snake one, the Texas flag, white power cross, etc...

I have mixed feelings on this subject. On the one hand it could be pretty neat, but having looked at Leftypol it looks like they over use it, and I would want ideology flags to drown out country flags. My top preference would be that flags are like they are on Polandball Reddit, where some users have icons that are specific and chosen (like a Texas flag), but most have ones that presumably correspond to the country their IP is from.

Actually, one solution could be that people just request flags on the /qa/ board, and moderators manually change their flags to whatever specific requested flag. That would mean that people could have unique flags if they really want them, but it wouldn't be so common as to disrupt the current flag system, and would probably require less coding than making a new choose-your flag feature

This feature is supported by the imageboard software already. We just haven't enabled it. We also have the forced-flag system that you described. Currently we can force user's flags to Israel, Gypsies, and Canadians for funposting purposes.

Although it doesn't guarantee that it will be enabled, what other flags would you like to see? Do you think they should be limited to political ideologies, or should they be more 4chon-like?

I personally don't think that a 4chon-style flags are a good idea. But I think ideology flags could be fun, so long as they're only used when relevant.

A mix of both. For example, you can perhaps have a kekistani flag while still having a majority of ideological flags. Ideology flags seem like the best shot, and I like the idea >>1304 this messages in case there's over saturation.

I never liked the ideology flags. They always just encourage people to let the their flgs talk for them, and promoted factional bullshit within board discussion.
Also, we're far too small at this point for this to not immediately become cancerous: this board is too small to retain its anonymity if everyone can easily point out "that one guy who is a National Capitalist".

Yes, VPN providers usually don't keep public lists of what IPs are theirs so you're right of course.
That leaves doing it volontarily/manually. I'll bother someone in this thread if and when the IP changes - but it will just cycle through 4-5 different servers (depending on which ones has spare capacity) so hopefully it won't be too annoying.

Hi tried to make a flag for Black Sun, but as I'm no artist it didn't quite convey the style of the original. Problem is that you're restricted to an image of 16x11 (WxH) pixels, and trying to fit a complex symbol while keeping it legible can be problematic. Let me know if you want what I have, or hopefully you are able to make a better flag.
