I was bullied all they way from 2nd grade until I graduated high school

I was bullied rather heavily when I was younger. Admittedly I had horrible hygiene habits and I was bullied for the way that I smell. My problem was that nobody I knew as a friend ever acknowledged that the bullies were right and it took me years to figure out that had I listened to what they were saying, I would have been able to improve my life much sooner than I did.
So my first bit of advice is to listen to what they say.
Do they say you dress like shit? That you're ugly? You smell like a sewer?
A little bit of hygiene goes a long way.
Its up to you, come to a decision on whether their claims have merit or not and if they do, make a change.
If improving yourself doesn't work or you decide that their claims have no merit, you'll have to earn their begrudging respect by being better than them at whatever that may be. >>5242 is an effective method, and it worked for me when I cornered my bully alone and punched him repeatedly in the head.
But 15 years down the line I wish I had listened to what they had to say and improved myself instead.
