Even more annoying for me, X hasn't worked with my version of greasemonkey for a couple years. I have to either cobble together my own workarounds(notably I do not know JS, just enough general programming principles I can kind-of-sort-of figure out how to force the square block through the round hole) based on context or manually copy in fixes.

Maybe you need to manually download newer version of it from the website, for me it works fine

Well I'll be damned, 23.2 works. I've been using my custom 22.4 for years since the later versions were eating shit(it wouldn't inject/render at all). I still had to make a couple of my own little cosmetic changes(like changing "cross-post" back to the arrow), but all looks well. One of these days I should try to figure out how to remove post-matching hashbangs from links to other thread OPs(/thread/123456#p123456), it's annoying to have to delete the #p123456 every time so refreshing a thread stays where I was at instead of jumping back to the top.

I'm back because the new captchas are fucking awful and I got told my IP was range-banned/had file posting limited due to abuse which I seriously doubt.

Yeah it's a guess. To get someone's IP before you needed to subponea an anon, to go through official channels, maybe alert some normie to your operations.

The jannies/moderation were allowing sh4rt' activity and raiding, so you could say they were more or less working together, but it's possible that the jannies couldn't see the IPs with their tools. I think spur does see, and what it does is it provides the criminal element of the glowies to get the IPs through "backchannels" (without alerting the surface level glowies or other operators of this criminal activity), at least that's what I imagine is possible since at the end of the day it's jews pulling the strings even in american intelligence agencies, since and spur is israeli based company it shouldn't be hard for the american jew to get spur data.

As far as what spur or 4chan is doing behind the scenes I don't know, but the stuff about IPs here is wildly inaccurate. An IP address is not that hard to get, and it's honestly not that big a deal if somebody gets yours. It's basically just an address assigned to you by your ISP that tells the network where to route the stuff you request. Any website you use is going to have your IP address by default, because if it didn't then the internet wouldn't work. Whether the site itself stores user IPs in the database or makes them viewable to mods/jannies depends on how the site's code works internally, but I would assume they probably do have that information and probably always have. However, again, some random person having your IP address isn't that big a deal in itself.

The concern with an IP address is that your ISP knows which IP address is associated with which customer, so if someone went to your ISP and gave them an IP, they could look it up and see which customer was issued that address. Generally speaking, ISPs don't give this information out unless they're ordered to by the court, and the only time that ever happens is if a given user is doing something illegal, a law enforcement agency has that user's IP address, and they want to know what actual person was making the post. So the only time you'd need to be worried about 4chan having access to your IP address is if you're doing something on 4chan that could attract the attention of law enforcement. Law enforcement would then need to A) get your IP address from 4chan's servers, and B) go through the court system to obtain your personal identity from your ISP. Some tranny-janny on 4chan giving your IP address out to some faggot on the donkey show is basically meaningless. All they could do with it is try to launch some noob-level hacking attacks on you, which these days would be guaranteed to fail unless you're a complete dumbass and you intentionally configured your home network in an unsafe way.

So, I'm not really sure what the concern is here.

So far as I can tell, the "big picture" here is that you don't understand what an IP address is or what it's used for. Every website you've ever visited has your IP address; it's basically public information. What exactly are you worried about?

They clearly didn't have the data before, because they needed to get spur. Spur has nothing to do with combatting proxies that's just a red herring.

It kind of feels like we're having two different conversations here. First, who exactly are "they" in this context? Are we talking about 4chan mods? Glowies? What? Second, I'll just repeat my original question: what are you afraid of exactly? So far as I can tell, you're worried about this mystery party having access to lists of user IPs on 4chan, which again isn't that big a deal in itself. Whether or not they had access to it originally or needed Spur to gain said access is beside the point. Unless you're a government agency that can subpoena the ISP to give you more information, there's basically nothing you can do with someone's IP address.

Also:
>Spur has nothing to do with combatting proxies that's just a red herring.
What the hell are you even talking about? Who said anything about combatting proxies? What does "combatting proxies" even mean? It's like you're just throwing out random computer terms without understanding what they mean.

That's the thing, they don't need to do subponeas when using Spur, because spur provides the contexts for every IP. And this is a criminal government group that will have access to those.

spur is only used when 4chan's in-house bot detection finds you suspicious
only proxyniggers complain about spur because it BTFO'd them so hard they can't spam anymore

also a lie, proxy users found ways to bypass spur, and spur was never implemented to fight the proxy users in the first place.

It temporary fucked with some proxy shitters, but that was never the main goal of spur. The goal of spur was to get profiles on users who are anti-Israel, or otherwise dissident and spread information that status quo don't like (red pills on JQ, too much actual data on freemason groups/lodges activity, e.g. local rumors). Leto's group and some other proxy group both found ways to bypass spur very quickly, so it clearly had nothing to do with combatting proxy, the jannies were already in bed with some of that userbase anyway.

Spur was never about banning proxy users, and I'd go as far as to say not even ban household router proxies, it's just so now when they think someone is posting "too hot content" they no longer need to do a subponea (and they probably can't too many times anyway, for it attracts too much attention to all kinds of different ops going on), they can just cross-reference it to the IPs from Spur database. And maybe also forward said information to glowie groups that are actively defending secret societies and other topics (not just on 4chan, but likely on other sites as well), since it wasn't uncommon for someone to post something that went against status quo and masons, for them to get instantly swarmed by sam hyde defense force/thiel's knight brotherhood coming to reassure that no masonry was involved goyim.
