Its ridiculous how fucked the american economy is. I'm getting my driveway paved so I decided to see how much it would cost me to buy the 3in Holland paver stones from home depot and for about 7800sqft of my driveway it comes out to almost 120k, so instead I called a company in mexico and found the SAME stones for only 22k, plus about 7k for the tarrifs and logistics. Let me explain to you how fucked the US is using a perfect real-world example.
In my local town there's a Buffet place that I worked at for a while. Shining gem of the town, everyone goes there every weekend, they've kept the same prices and the same food for over 25 years.
Sounds great on paper doesn't it?
Well here's the thing. They can afford to have not changed prices - cuz don't tell me the cost of ingredients HASN'T changed in that 25 years - because with the exception of ONE GUY (other than me) the entire kitchen staff are illegal.
What this guy has been doing is taking the proceeds from not paying for his workers properly and reinvesting it into their bottom line, thus artificially inflating the solvency of the business. Over time, this has a draining effect on other local businesses who eventually go out of business, to the point that the only business that can really compete is the Chinese buffet, who have their own game going. See, they have a family member who works at Tyson, who offers at-cost cases of chicken to employees and family members.
So the chinese are gaming the system one way, the jewish white guy is gaming the system another way, so that no one can compete and everything stagnates.
Oh but don't tell the locals. It doesn't matter that it's all true, all that matters to them is cheap fried chicken and catfish. And crawfish on Fri/Sat

So now you're witnessing this site in more of it's ordinary state. There is an observable group that makes this board their home board even though most posters and lurkers are off doing other things or inhabiting other areas of the internet. Dedicated autists, if things of significance, banter, fun, or whatever occurs, it will be brought here and posted, but (mostly) the incessant drive for fast-paced 4chan shenanigens are things we grew out of. We're also painfully aware (as is much of 4chan now, one hopes) of how artificial a NOT insignificant percentage of the posts there are, as well as who is behind it. It's kind of funny, because all this donkey show hack situation has ACTUALLY done is give confirmation to many/most (if not all) of the speculations, assessments, and predictions about 4chan and moderation from myself and others back when this site was founded.

yeah, i've built a few of them over the years. lately i've downloaded a few different kits to print out with my 3d printer, but getting all the parts prepped seems like it's going to be a nightmare.

What filament material will you be using? I know people have leaked entire gunpla moulds before. Third party firms that dealt with resin are taking this approach as well, and the results are fantastic.
Also, I wouldn't sweat parts preparation - 3D printing is out of my wheelhouse, but trimming flash, sanding, gluing and test fitting isn't as difficult as it seems. Just please wear your half-mask and goggles if you work with resin, as the resulting dust can give you cancer.

The unicorns have created a false sun, just above the atmposphere, and for kicks we add some sparkly dots to the heat shield. The shield is needed to slow how fast our ground cools since six miles up its a quarter of a Kelvin above absolute zero. The dots are to remind us there used to be other suns, too. Of course the commoners just think they're real stars, and name the constellations after the seasons when the alicorns chooose that arrangement.
The commoners need something to believe in, so we don't exactly correct them.

i'm using PLA. i tried using ABS and PLA+ but didn't have much luck. there's little lines on everything a 3d printer makes, and depending on the size of the print and the material, they can be really obvious. there's ways to get rid of them, it's just extra work.
