I know at last Mare Fair there was someone selling coffee with mare's milk in it. I asked what it tasted like, and someone said it has a flavour not unlike grass or hay (go figure.) Cheese from mare's milk tickles my fancy because nomadic tribes on the Steppe would seldom place mare milk in leather bags so it can coagulate into cheese.
I've always wanted to taste airag, or fermented mare's milk. It is the national drink of Mongolia, and it's said that when you leave a yurt, you should stir the pot the milk sits in.
