I got power back on friday, but then lost it saturday morning with it trying to come back on and off until it stopped and heard something get electrocuted outside, I saw sparks and smoke coming from the nearby substation, power came again late evening, only for the more "normal" type of outage that happens here every few weeks or less on sunday morning of hearing transformer "explode", till it came back late sunday afternoon and as of now it has been 'stable', but you can never trust it.

I have an UPS/Battery Backup which is pretty much a necessity with such an unstable grid, which I now need to replace its batteries as they have degraded too far to be able to hold anything on during outages. The infrastructure has been shit for the past decades, even after whatever "improvements" were done after the 2017 cat. 5 hurricane destroyed most of the grid, I had 6 months of no electricity outside of solar power that could power the basics (a freezer, charging stuff, fans for the night and a washing machine on days of clear skies).

I have an UPS/Battery Backup which is pretty much a necessity with such an unstable grid, which I now need to replace its batteries as they have degraded too far to be able to hold anything on during outages. The infrastructure has been shit for the past decades, even after whatever "improvements" were done after the 2017 cat. 5 hurricane destroyed most of the grid, I had 6 months of no electricity outside of solar power that could power the basics (a freezer, charging stuff, fans for the night and a washing machine on days of clear skies).
