So, how long until they get /mlpol/?
>>131nhnb shart itself due to huge traffic
>>135How well does /mlpol/ handle huge traffic?
>>131We could ask soyjak to revive /mlp/
>>131The Shartboarders love /mlpol/
>>144i want you to see them make out
>>142Hey, 25 replies is HUGE for nhnb
>>1557% of /fim/'s total posts have been from this exodus. It actually is huge.
Imagine if /mlp/ got 3 million posts in just 20 hours.
>>163>Imagine if /mlp/ got 3 million posts in just 20 hours.sounds like this year's April Fools desu
>>131They can TRY,....
>>148Our paths have crossed before, Soyjack has raided us on several occasions. Emphasis on 'try' because there's a function in the staff infrastructure where one focused individual can erase over 100 posts in a simultenous instant. THAT will lag the sire for a minute or two, and voila, everything has returned to normal.
There's no bad blood between the two groups other than their article about us on the soyjack wiki is more comedy and wishful thinking than an accurate account of our dealings.
I'm sitting on a nearly feature complete imageboard software written in C++ that doesn't log IPs. I started writing it during the birth of mlpol before I abandoned it like 90% complete when I realized nobody wanted another imageboard.
>tfw It will probably never get finished
>>366maybe. I'd have to dig up the server but given the absolute state of 4chan I might have the motivation to finish it. I only really had part of the mod tools left to finish. but I'm also autistically afraid of my coding skills being picked apart (very topical atm)
>>374maybe it's not a bad thing to finish it since 4chan is down?
>>376true. it had a lot of modern features built in and it was fast written in C++, but I'm a bit out of practice and I'd definitely have to clean some stuff up if I were to release it to the public. That part scares me. there were some unsolved problems as well, like "how do you range ban an IP if you only have an IP hash to work with?"
>>378do you have a discord or something?
>>365do you have any potential names for this imageboard project?
>>383Yes, though I don't know if I wanna post it here. Maybe a throwaway or something
>>412I've been calling it pluschan/chan++
>>516Eh, dunno about that one, it doesn't really roll off of the tongue, but I'll keep work shopping the name
Also, looking through the old server it looks like I changed the name to "nextchan" at some point.
>>531If you are going through with this project, how do you plan on advertising/growing the platform? If you even do have a plan for that at this point in development.
>>543I have no idea, that was actually one of the reasons that the project kind of petered out, wasn't sure how I could actually get people to use Yet Another Imageboard™
>>135Also being ran by an incompetent pedotroon and rulecuck.
>>365an imageboard with a backend in C++. or even better, a booru, that would be a huge advancement.
if this is true, anon, you got gold in your hands.
>>1111Oh my God, witnessed!
Also, the videos! they have sound!
The videos have SOUND!
>>131Everything is proceeding according to plan.
uhhhhhhh
which bunker do I use??
>>358>their article about us on the soyjack wiki is more comedy and wishful thinking than an accurate account of our dealingsDo you have a link? I actually wasn't aware they had an article on us.
>>1109do not worry anon, I've found what I hope is the most up to date copy and I'm getting it set up now. I just ran into a bug with video uploads that I do not remember existing last time I worked on it so I'm fixing it real quick
>>1145this one, all the others have stuck-up gay moderation
>>1275thats pretty good looking
>>358Is it just me or do the people at Sharty feel super self-righteous? Anyway, I wish I knew this board existed back in 2018. I just got here today.
>>1281That's the result of them constantly posting what is effectively mindless gibberish and then feeling smug when nobody knows what the fuck they're talking about.
>>1281>Is it just me or do the people at Sharty feel super self-righteous?they are a peak example of woke cultism. Any crime is acceptable IF they can convince themselves they are the "good guys"
>>12788moe's mods are actually very chill and their culture would be my 2nd choice from here, but they are super into bestialities, so fair warning.
They support /poner/ and the user base is pretty chill too (pre-refugee). But the calm atmosphere has been in a little upheaval over the refugeefags
>>12888moe mods deleted my nun-Chryssy webm over some gay non-anthro rule, not that anthro apparently ist banned from the board but it should be in the anthro thread (there is no anthro thread).
That reveals they are no better than the nhnb jannies. That's why I choose mlpol over the alternatives.
This site has the barbienigger-schizo but at least we can actually post content that is actually from the content we are all present for.
>>1313"3 : Anthro is only allowed in two threads. And one thread must be generalized in nature, to cover the entire subject matter."
I'm guessing this. and funny you're right they don't have an anthro thread up, so they probably expected you to make one. One mod was already said to be ban-happy over anthro by the BO.
>>1320I'm talking about a subset of the late /mlp/ that usually always had a tamers thread up; who is a youtube animator that has been making My Little Pony content since last year. 8moe isn't /mlp/ and it certainly isn't going to be good replacement. They dont have to change anything about that either, they have their home that I'll respect. It's not about wanting to post anthro but about wanting to post content that is about ponies.
>>12888chan is a zoo harboring board for disgusting niggers to spread their disgusting animal loving disease
ok, server is up everybody. tell me what you like, what you hate, and what's broken
https://www.nextchan.io/mare/>>1496no viruses, pinkie promise
>>1548I mean, yeah, probably.
Never really believed that it would take off, but it was a fun challenge to write nonetheless
Is NHNB just not loading for anybody else?
>>1721Workin for me. The site's been a little janky due to the increased traffic but the few mods seem to be pretty active in trying to fix it.
>>131>NHNB>dedGood, only the mentally retarded enjoy that dust bowl
nhnb is currently being raided by the sharty
>>2069Strange but welcome I guess
>>2078Nevermind they gave up after 20 minutes
It's not the first time this happened, they tried raiding a few years ago and that failed too
>>2069No one cares about your rulecuck board faggot
>>2084This is the thread for diaspora website news, no?
>>2082Dunno if they really failed. It's a pain to post over there compared to here and that's not even taking in account the users.
>>2086If they couldn't wipe a single board it's by definition a fail
>>1323Hah yeah that's MareMoe, the mod hates anthro and barbie abit too much. I usually end up moving around most of the stuff he deletes. The guy is great at removing spam tho I gotta say.
Sorry about him tho, he can be a bit insensitive at times. If he becomes too aggressiv then just tell me in the mod thread and I'll spank his butt. (He even quickly deletes my accidental semi anthro posts, rofl)
>>1388Mare pussy is the best. Fight me.
>>1313Here you go brother:
https://8chan.moe/mlp/res/1830.html#1963If he deletes it I'll give the silly guy a 1 day ban muahah ;p I'ma go have a beer now, happy Easter my dudes /)
>>2087I mean taking into account all the anti-spam measures the site has taken since then. Makes it a pain to post there for normal users.
>>365Best of luck, but it sounds like using a hammer on a screw. There's a reason these things aren't usually done in compiled languages. I would have thought poor performance had more to do with network problems and database bottlenecks and things like that, not execution of the actual PHP or ASP.net.
>>2248You would be surprised by the performance difference. And complied languages are not uncommon for a backend, It's not as if I'm using C++ for the frontend.
>>2313There is obviously a big performance difference, but when is computational power ever a bottleneck for a website? Legitimate question, I have no experience running websites.
>>2319while you are right that a large chunk of the execution time is taken up by database queries, you must also consider how an image board operates. Every time you post, the server rebuilds not just the individual thread, but all of the indexes and the catalog as well, which can involve iterating through and building hundreds of posts spread across over a dozen html files, which requires lots of disk operations and function calls on top of the database queries. When you upload a file, you also have to verify that the file is valid and then generate a thumbnail. Another important fact is that PHP is not naively multithreaded, which my program is. (I don't know about ASP.net)
while the difference between execution times may be small on a single post, this can quickly add up if your image board has tens of millions of active posts and hundreds of posts per minute.
>>2478Which is why I suspect 4chan going down was a deliberate act (
>>>/mlpol/383024 →). If we are to assume the OS hadn't been updated in 10 years, the same can me assumed for the hardware.
>>2493for sure, hearing about how they were using a pdf thumbnailer from 2012 is pretty crazy, and that the code is pretty much untouched since 2015. But, the hardware is provided through paid hosting and has changed over the years (the use of a CDN server is a good example). The cost of the hardware is also a major issue for 4chan. I remember moot nearly went bankrupt keeping the site operating.
>>2501Kinda makes one wonder what's going to happen to the bottom line for gookmoot when all of this is said and done, imagine if he gets the site back up and the first thing he does is ask people to buy 4chan passes
>>3702He's almost certainly going to go for a very temporary solution and then the moment it's online he's gonna try and sell it to the highest bidder because actually fixing the code isn't worth it. It won't be passive income to him anymore and that means it's worthless.
Oh hey nhnb just removed all the captcha
>>3926They must have realized that that shit is gay.
Unfortunately, "Hey I just realized Im gay and decided to stop" while appreciable, still isn't a good look
>>3926Dashie fapping is bad for your health!
>>3926Oh hey, it's still a rulecuck board for retards
>>4143rewatch tranny detected, you have to go back
>>4148Oh, you really are schizo. What was the intent behind using that particular screencap?
>>4153>Overmoderation is... le GOOD>Don't like it, you're a schizo|> Who could be behind this post?
>>4155Anything that makes schizos like you seeth is objectively good
I keep telling you, (((they))) aren't sending their best
>>4162>Oh shit, we're found out quick! Use a boogeyman and link a falseflag!Imagine being such a RULECUCK that you need to make a plea case to post anything from /mlp/. That's the reality of anyone who isn't just a rewatchtranny
>rewatchtranny
You're not doing your argument any favors here.
>>4182I don't need your favor I only speak facts, schizobrownoids can't even. Imagine going defending a den of I HATE CHANGE autism where they regularly have kangaroo courts
>>4190Are you upset that you can't post with your tranny polycule about grooming kids in Second Life?
>>4190hope 4chan stays down so your general fucks off and dies.
>>4198>You cant>YouSwing and a miss. /opg/ is already on nhnb despite rewatch tranny tears. KWAB look at the crybaby bitches this you always are.
The rewatch trannies immediately accepted gmod as kosher marenigger content but rejected popens as le other not-allowed marefagging.
>Cyslop offboard sesh - OK and board culture :)>Gay offboard TFaggots - OK and board culture :)>Gslop offboard - OK and board culture :)>Popens - SHUT. IT. DOWN.Why are rewatch trannies so unbearbly Jewish? The world wonders why it's so disgusting
>>4213>Swing and a missOkay, so you are that same guy
>>4214>Everyone who uses globally known phrases is the same personI accept your transition.
>>4213Why do you care so much? You can post here, can't you? Oh wait, you just want to create strife.
>>4247In fairness, he could just be autistically mad about something out of his control and wants someone to hear him be mad about it. It's still retarded, but it doesn't hurt to show a little understanding.
But yes, obvious bait is obvious
>>4274It's either a persona that he no longer considers necessary or (more likely) he just wasn't that invested in posting and decided to step away and focus on something other than imageboards when /mlp/ went down.
>>4274This board has no flaggot support,, that he can paint all glimmerfags with by association.
The flags on /poner/ are disabled, and when enabled they're by location like /pol/
>>4291Even if he posted without a flag, people would immediately declare it to be him and remind people of what that means. I don't think that plays much of a role in him not posting anymore.
>go on nhnb
>bypass flood detection limit bullshit
>sometimes thread limit as well
Fuck that piece of shit website
But it's le pure it doesn't have le eqg le g5 le tamers
Who fucking cares don't like the threads you can just filter them imagine being this Obsessed over anything not g4 related actual schizos
>he's STILL seething on both sites
>he's STILL using the same language and pretending to be multiple people
>he's STILL getting called out
keep crying lmfao
>>4313Shartyfags aren't the brightest.
>>4313Why can't he just post here and not bring drama?
>>4349Attention starved. Probably raised by a single mom.
Let me rephrase. Press : in the text window
>>1388I'm pretty sure /zoo/ got taken down like a month ago. Not that I frequent there or anything..
>>4372It's not the same as being a flaggot with it attached to every single post you make until you change it.
>Be me, open the "Looser version of /fim/"
>See someone at the top get rulecucked anyways
lol, lmao even.
>>4738>is learning about the word-filterJust like this exodus/refugee situation, you can blame that on Soyjack, who spammed cring e enough times that we made it funny to us.
>>4745And what have you learned?
>>4747that you is a cringy ass nigga frfr
>>4744I had a good laugh when I found that out. Utterly unexpected.
unironically, I won't use this because I cant hide threads and the filers is shit. No 4chanx so is dead
>>4744But how is cring.e sausage related?
>>5271Hiding threads already exists nigger, open a thread and filter it by thread+, and it works, just reload the page
What you're thinking of is shiftclick hide a simple QoL thing that can be added.
>>5297Daddy would you like some sausage?
