That is not true at all. The US dollar is the most banked foreign currency in the world and not many other foreign currencies are banked in similar fashions. US dollars can also be freely converted in any country, allowing for greater trade freedom with it. Plus, many existing contracts between companies and countries around the world require payment in US dollars, so the petroyuan and petrorupee, if they were even a thing, would not be the death knell for the US dollar. In the worst case scenario, the US has dealt with oil rationing following natural disasters and during shortages before and the US seems to be picking up the pace in the transition to electric vehicles.

If I had to guess, I'd say that responsibility for the body of a deceased inmate is expected to fall on the deceased's family, so the prison designers don't expect the prison to dispose of bodies itself. That being said, it's not unheard of for prisons to have a cemetery on or attached to the property to bury deceased prisoners.

The US’s internment camps still allowed people to maintain their families and live in communities together, so they would have had them for a much different purpose.
