I really like the styles of AnonTheAnon and HotDiggedyDemon, which are both very goofy and cartoonish. HotDiggedyDemon's style especially reminds me of Ren and Stimpy. But if you're not interested in making comedic content, that sort of style might not work for you.

I like art that remains true to the show but with some added depth, shading and features. Ponies should be somewhat anatomically correct but not too much so, as skinny legs push them into the uncanny valley.

I also don't like floof unless if it's to signify a messy coat. Floof indicates that pony hair is longer than is show-accurate. It also reminds me of furry artists who use it liberally.

It's hard to pin down but I'd go with any art style that resembles the classical arts.

I personally enjoy Shinodage's art. I'm a pleb who can't into art critique, though, so the only thing I can really offer is that I think his style is freakin' adorable without straying too far from the show's original style.

AnonTheAnons art style is rooted purely in the west, he took the shows style (which is very geometric) and made it reminiscent of the style we might have seen in the golden era of western animation. while not the most sexy style I do think he did a very good job at that?
HotDiggedyDemon style is also very western, he does a lot of caricature for comedic effect, again not the most sexy of styles I'm looking for something more along the lines of aesthetically pleasing, yet simple enough for a relative n00b.

Actually I set out to diverge from the show for several reasons. firstly, there is an immense sum of artwork done in the shows style, I don't think we need more, wouldn't you like something fresh?
In the second place It make me feel like a copycat.
In the third place, I think that the shows style only allow for so many expression, how about you?

I know dumblr artists have a particular visage to their art but is there not diversity among them (there is a tumblr dedicated to Aryanne)? What constitutes a tumbl(e)r-tastic style? are these tumpleresque? that middle one isn't to shabby, that was the safest drawing that I found, all of his other works are naughty. (why is it that most of the "decent" artists draw porn?)

This guy is probably my favorite pony artist. Name is Kawaii Pony or some variant of that. I found his art at a convention. I've seen people try to draw poners in an anime style before and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. This is probably the best execution of that idea that I've seen.
