It goes deeper than that, honestly. Modern cultural Marxism is an ideology that appeals to people by telling them that their failures and shortcomings are someone else's fault. If you're poor, it's the fault of rich people. If you're ugly, it's the fault of beautiful people. If you're fat, it's because other people are thin, and so on. The idea is so attractive for a lot of these people that they take it a step further and actually begin to fetishize failure and ugliness. Even a girl like this, who was basically attractive to begin with but is probably insecure as all fuck and has a whole laundry list of things she doesn't like about herself, starts deliberately modifying her appearance in a way that will make her less conventionally attractive, just so she can get angry at all the boys who suddenly don't find her attractive anymore. This way, when she does porn (which she would probably end up doing one way or the other since again she basically hates herself), she can frame it as "empowering" herself rather than degrading and debasing herself.

College kids are basically just slightly older high school kids anyway, and they tend to have the same basic social attitudes, just adapted a little to fit a new environment. In high school this girl was probably the girl who did choir or drama and spent her time wishing she was beautiful enough to be a cheerleader. Now, instead of obsessing over making herself prettier to fit in with the prettier girls, she obsesses over making herself disgusting so she can fit in with the girls who have bigger victim complexes. She doesn't see it this way of course, but that's basically how her thought process works.
