The original comic is a Doonesbury strip, which is an American leftist comic strip that's been running for several decades now. The guy who writes it is basically your typical smarmy baby boomer leftist Harvard alum. The "conservative comedian" is just a strawman representing what I guess liberals imagine conservative humor to be.
