Imo, so long as it's not a drag for you. It's more important to do the fun parts of your art than the hard parts. The fun parts get you up in momentum, which enables you to do the hard parts. If you only do the hard parts, you slowly start to drag your feet towards the subject at hand.

Here are some art tutorials and other resources I found one day while searching the internet. I honestly, use tutorials sparingly. Not because I am above them. But because I try to adhere to the principle I described above. I believe, "It's better to have fun doing easy stuff than demotivate yourself by doing hard stuff."
So, like, you enjoy drawing, let's say shiba inu dogs; you probably enjoy it, because you are pretty good at it. If you just continue to draw that (what you find fun), eventually you will be like, "Hey, what if I drew the dog in a reaper's cloak while holding a scythe in its paws?" And so it expands. imo.

I hope I don't come off as a douche. I drew made some adjustments to them, that I like. Felt, doing it this way would be clearer than explaining in a visual medium. However, if you want an explanation with them, you can just ask.
Don't get me wrong tho, these were really well done, both of them. Drawing characters, in your own invented poses, interacting with each other, and so on, is really challenging. It's easier to come in afterwards, to suggest edits after the base is done. Like, it's harder to write a book from scratch than it is to criticize it, I think that makes sense. Probably.
Anyway, I hope I don't come off as a douche. The originals are really impressive. There's a lot to like in them. This is just some stuff I would prefer differently.

Since I already know adobe illustrator, it supports adobe animate really well too. Plus, most of the pre-made files for mlp are in flash format, so adobe animate is actually the smarter choice for mlp works.
