/MLPOL/ Watch Party Part 5: Don't Ask About The Fish
Nine years on, still running strong!
Welcome, newfags and oldfags. This is a thread about a weekly get-together some of us like to do on Fridays.
Account registration is not required.
Starting at around 7:00pm EST (8:00pm Central Time), and continuing until the end of the night.
Cytube is the current site hosting the Watch Parties, and the normal room is https://cytu.be/r/MLPOL-WatchParty . This may be subject to change, so double check the announcement post in the thread.
These nights consist of going to a website with a video player and a chatroom and having a good time. The format we're using starts with the first hour being a series of pony animations and music. This is followed with a couple episodes of a show, then we switch over to a livestream portion for a brief intermission, followed by a series of classic shorts, good classic tv, then a movie. This is followed by two episodes of another show, followed by MLP episodes, then the room is usually pretty open to whatever.
The mood of the nights is “Good Vibes”, and we tend to like more classic content compared to a lot of what's on offer these days.
Feel free to swing on over. The playlist for the CyTube portion is usually left running on repeat from week to week if you're overstretched on week.

The first Monday Movie Night of our sessions, and we have a harvest of a lot of fresh content in it.
We'll start the evening off with a video of banquo0 doing a search on Google Play and reporting what he found, followed by music. Most of our music is from within the last two weeks, though I'd like to particularly highlight Harmony Bop's new song from just 5 days ago. “SEXIEST HORSE ALIVE (Original Song)”. I've liked their earlier sings, so I have high hopes for this.
In animation news, ForgaLorga graces us with a three and a half minute animation from 2 days ago titled “Random is Magic”. Minty Root has also released an animated teaser for Pandemonium, his next animation. I'm going to keep this in the rotation every now and then until that animation releases.
Tonight's Farscape episode is the followup from last week, when our crew went to regroup with their members who are at that archaeological dig site. The one with the ghosts begging the living to never use the something-or-other that was so significant in that area. It's got something to do with wormhole-like technology and a civilization known for maintaining peace despite living on the borders of other warlike civilizations. Last we saw, Peacekeepers marched in and took a lot of people prisoner. Crichton is being interrogated by the ranking new Peacekeeper character, too horny to stop her from getting information.
Scorpius isn't looking too good these days, and is being treated badly after being brainfucked in the aurora chair. It freaks Crichton out, it's so messed up. I heard in the interviews that they went further in recordings that didn't make the final cut.

I'll see if I can keep using Fridays for a more open and loose kind of night. A place to pop some of the awkwardly lengthed content, or just blocks of twenty minute episodes of whatever's on YouTube. The playlist will probably be kept open and unlocked for people to suggest things. No fancy write-up, relaxed personal rules for picking pony pictures must strongly feature the core concept or if about a pony, must be a solo pic without other ponies.
I haven't decided whether to use 3 images as a header, or keep with 5.
Tonight, I've got something on the side that'll keep me pretty busy for the early part, but the room'll be open with content. I'll be near-ish on my phone.

For a movie, I suggest Scaramouche from 1952. For horse content at the end of the night, why not Mr. Ed?
Someone put Wild Manes on the table as a potential series to watch. I checked it out and it doesn't appear awful, but it's not as kawaii (kawaii means cute) as older MLP. There are fewer than 40 artworks of it on e6.

Mr. Ed and Wild Manes were suggested, and since it was easier to find I've decided on Mr. Ed for the time being. It's something like 8 seasons so we can probably switch back and forth if we get tired of it.

We'll have a selection of music from mostly Pipetka and Hay Tea today, with a contribution of one song by Blackened Blue. Hay Tea released an album based on the five stages of grief, with each song in varying electronic styles styles. Pipetka has songs of varying themes, and Blackened Blue has a G% song with vocals in it. Further content to be heard when played.
In other Pony content, we have one comic dub from Scribbler Productions titled “Luna's Misadventures: Apple Family Fiasco”, and Scribbler also published a ten minute slice of life / drama fanfic titled “Nopony's Daughter”, written by Ice Star.
Aside from this, we'll have a short video by Sargon titled “The Funniest Thing I've Seen For Ages”, a four minute release trailer for a VR release of Perfect Dark N64. One more short, and an unused demo from HomestarRunnerDotCom's Teen Girl Squad.
In tonight's Farscape episode, we finally reunite with Aeryn to restore the status quo. But then Scorpius is involved again. This time, not as an all-powerful supervillain. I expect wild shenanigans to ensue.

In recognition of the beginning of July, the theme of the week is a celebration of the founding of nations! Both Canada Day (July 1st) and the United States' Independance Day (July 4th) were last week.

I don't think Nicecrew staff are pozzed like that. The movie night stream itself goes through 7 proxies. Tor could be regarded as suspicious considering it's the go-to browser for being gay and doing crime, but I think if anything it's Tor's network shitness being responsible for the breakdown.
I don't think Nicecrew staff are pozzed like that. The movie night stream itself goes through 7 proxies. Tor could be regarded as suspicious considering it's the go-to browser for being gay and doing crime, but I think if anything it's Tor's network shitness being responsible for the breakdown.
I'd just like to opine that I use Palemoon, and have been pleasantly surprised at how successfully I can watch the episodes, and even the movie on that site.

Not really sure what issue you're having, but just by the very nature of how it works Tor is not an optimal way to watch streaming video. Tor basically routes your internet traffic through three randomly selected nodes and it changes nodes every ten minutes or so. You're basically trading speed for privacy; it's a good way to stay hidden if you want to keep the sites you visit from knowing who you are and/or prevent your ISP from knowing what sites you visit, but the tradeoff is that it massively slows things down. Unless you have some specific reason why you want to stay anonymous it doesn't make much sense to use it for everyday browsing. I turn it on whenever I get nostalgic for 90s dial-up internet because it's usually about that fast.
