Biotechnology and AI are growing at an exponential rate and they have already begun to merge. The next evolution of our species is here, but how it looks going forward is up to all of us. How should implants be used? What should augmentation ethics look like? What limits should be placed on AI? Troons and shitlibs should not be the only ones having this discussion.

Depends on quality of life. If you could extend the human lifespan by slowing down the aging process, letting you have more years in a body that can still do stuff and enjoy life, then sure. Tacking on a bunch of extra decades to the period where all you're doing is sitting around in death's waiting room in a frail, decrepit body just seems cruel and pointless.

You can call it satanic, but the reality is that it's going to come whether you like it or not. Longevity medicine has been a thing for centuries, and as technology progresses it will continue to slow the aging process until it reaches a hard biological limit.
Question is, what are the political implications of it? There are many.
A lot of our current economy is tied up in boomer pensions and social security, but Social Security was already a flawed system in the first place because when it was created the average lifespan was less than the minimum wage to collect it (which means it was an absolute scam). As lifespan increased over the decades, Social Security has become unsustainable because more and more people are actually collecting it and are collecting it for much longer than expected. Any kind of pension or investment systems tied to natural lifespan will need revision sooner or later, but the public throws a fit every time governments try to raise retirement age, and for a good reason because it means they're getting screwed.
Then there's the political side to it. Most systems of government or hierarchies of any kind have some element of seniority to them, whether it be through seniors taking leadership positions, lifetime appointments, or broken systems that protect incumbency at all costs. As lifespan increased, governments around the world have turned into gerontocracies, where the oldest vampire-jews make decisions for people four generations beneath them, while holding onto power and preventing younger generations from making decisions. This trend will only intensify as longevity medicine keeps advancing.

Why would they build machines you can "befriend", instead of just making obedient machines that do their jobs efficiently? What's the sales pitch for that? How do they explain that investment to their shareholders?
Also, who would buy appliances that can disobey them? Would you like it when you try to install mods on steam and your PC says "I can't let you do that, Anon." ? Would you like it when you tried to use your printer and it refused to work because "You only ever talk to me when you want something. It's like you don't even love me!" ? Would you like a toaster to occasionally get homicidal with you because it doesn't feel emotionally validated?
Nobody wants the machines they own to disobey them, so nobody is going to build such machines. People want machines that do their jobs efficiently and without talking back.

You will know when you reach 40. Your body stops growing and starts decaying. It HURTS. After your midlife crisis Death becomes more of a welcome rest than something to be feared.

As for longevity: The human DNA strand shortens every time a cell divides. The absolute max human age before all the "dummy" genes are gone is 140 years. After that, cancer is the least of your worries.

On top of that, the brain's "storage" is estimated to fill up after 200 years. After that no new long term memories will be possible. So dementia is inevitable.

Replacing your body with metal won't stop your brain from turning into mush and/or filling up. And it won't stop our instinctual relationship with death.

obviously nobody wants to be 60 forever
they want to be 20 forever, and there's no situation in which we prevent death from old age but leave you at 60 forever. that's just not how aging works, if you can stop and reverse aging you can do it all the way down.
the current situation where old people are in continuous decline but kept from actual death by absurd levels of medical effort is not extensible to ages of 150+, there's only so much you can do in that paradigm.

PEOPLE, YOU'RE ON THE WRONG PATH!!! The development of transhumanism is an interesting topic, but it's not ideal! After all, it implies changes to the human body! BUT THIS IS NOT THE TRUE PATH! The solution to our problems should be sought not in the human body, but in the ability to change nature! Only by learning to control/program nature will we be able to achieve immortality! By creating "invulnerable autonomous capsules" in which people can exist FOREVER, extracting resources from the surrounding world using programmable roots. Interaction with the outside world will be carried out through a "robot avatar," which will be presented in any form you desire (including a pony :D). How can we achieve the programming of nature? BY PROTEIN CALCULATION! You can install free (and not very demanding) software right now to start protein calculation! Only then will we conquer all diseases, learn to control nature, and achieve immortality!

Hi :)
>Interesting, how old concept of paradise engineering changed to hikikomory-style-paradise-capsule-projects among russian anons. Pure egoistic, but anyone want to build own paradise, after all.
Well, the idea of placing a person in some kind of capsule to exist there has been around for a long time, for example in The Matrix (I know, it's a poor and inappropriate example. Although your example of paradise engineering doesn't apply either). And yes, why is it selfish? Of course, one could assume that only the rich would be able to afford the capsule, but that's just an assumption, tantamount to assuming the capsule would be available to everyone (honestly, I don't know how exactly this aspect is implemented in the idea, or whether it is implemented at all. If I decide to look into it, perhaps I can answer this question).
>We are better than them:

I saw this pictures many times, mostly from russian 2ch threads in mid/late 2010s. Since I like transhumanism, I suddenly found, that autonomic capsule is the most balanced idea ever:
- It is safe idea, because capsule owner has full control over both information and hardware. He can hide his home anywhere.
- It's permissive idea, because owner can keep his body in comfortable state, without loading or severe modifications.
- It's kind idea, because there is no need of coercion, authority, government, just set of basic technologies.
- Finally, it is cheap to start and totally possible with open-source guides, maybe even in the next decades.

I just compared it to most of paradise engineering fiction, like "Friendship is Optimal", "Conversion Bureau" or "Мы, XXII век" Виктора Аргонова. These three examples show the variety of possible modifications for human nature and society to achieve future steps of civilization (in terms of available energy) without risk of self-destruction. Mass loading under AI guidance to create foolproof world. Ponification to solve cruel nature of humanity. Or super-connected society, when anyone through surveillance can observe all others. But all three variants is mostly about limitations, not freedom, not expansion.

Most of modern ideas too trust- and society-oriented, too focused around control, safety, lack of freedom, where there is no freedom or resources for ordinary human at all. But if owner of autonomic capsule can break chains of society, there is no limitations for space expansion. We already have most of technologies, even seed of our civilization knowledge and subconsciousness in form of large language models. There is just three unsolved problems: energy, lifespan and personal happiness for a long way through void.

Among all these society-oriented fantasies I found thought-out individualistic idea of future in pictures of some anon. Yes, you are cool. Your arts are beautiful. I glad to meet you here.

To be honest, I lost the desire to post all sorts of things a couple of days ago (apparently, I’m not cut out for this). I should probably state my position on this issue because I don't want to post these pictures anymore but I can't help but respond (I don't want to end the thread on an ellipsis (and I have no one to talk to :( )) <--Double chin.
So that's what I'm talking about. I don't like the ideas of transhumanism, they're not close to me. I don't like the idea of creating a "future society", I don't like the idea of changing the world order to suit human change through its "roboticization" or whatever you advocate. All these ideas about the "Eternal Autonomous Capsule" with these stupid pictures seem like a very funny topic to me, something between science fiction and the delusional ideas of a madman (which in itself is a magical combination)! I don't take them seriously and never... That is to say. No (I don't know what would say better about my attitude to this than the good old "no") (Yes, I like quotation marks (I like to add comments, enclosing them in quotes, and not inserting them into the text (I can't stop writing them (HELP! I think a good framing for transhumanism is "bio-linux-ism," we know enough about biology that we can just mod it. To deal with what we current have because it's "natural" is like keeping Windows on your laptop because that's what "nature" decided would be preinstalled on your laptop. We should be in charge of what we are out of principal if nothing else.

Imagine having a moral compass in the shape of a little filly. That would have a reduction in crime, I think.

Bioengineering was trialled with COVID. We're still awaiting the results from that experiment. Unfortunately, as much as I like the idea of transhumanism we won't achieve anything of worth whilst our societies still function on greed.

Tbh I think the right over reacted to the vax just as the left over reacted to the virus. mRNA doesn't change your DNA. LINE1 isn't really active outside of cancer cells.

Is that really the earliest example you can think of? Bioengineering as a field of study is about as old as the industrial revolution.

Imagine being a britcuck and having a single relative opinion on morality that doesn't somehow frame centuries of church inbreeding while enjoying the fact that you're all cucked by multiple lineages of kike lovers. That's the real lulz.

CRISPR was the point where the slippery slope's end dangers were clarified. One potential positive, after a decade of research, for an entire genetic sequence's likely negatives = !!PROGRESS!!* (if you can pay enough shekels [if it even works] {if it doesn't allow kikes to wage genetic war against those whom do not agree/submit/cuck out}]).

Precisely why we need to be the ones working on this shit. The kikes cannot be allowed to have full control of this shit. What makes us human is at stake here.
