>>385640I'm a huge newfag and this was the first pony altchan I went to.
>>385640Knowing the 2017 April Fools joke qualifies you as an oldfag? I guess I've graduated
Also there's no way any Anons with even a slight knowledge of the existence of altchans don't know about this place, half of the ghostposts on desu mentioning them are about here and the other half are about NHNB
>>385643>never been to 8chan>try to check it out>security blocker hates ityeah, I think I'm just gonna stay on here and on NHNB
>>385640im a newfag and i found this place from all chans
>>385643I have so many thoughts on this.
If anons want to chase what's popular, then it doesn't matter if 'here' is popular, they're not welcome, at least until they've checked their attitude.
Spoonfeeding denied, come back when you've read the leaks.

You made the statement, and an incredibly vague one at that
The burden of proof rests on you
>>385655Ask me how many linky threads there are.
Not on about linky in particular, just saying there aren't 12 threads. Its weird, for a pony so "embraced by 4chan"
>>385652I've been on both ends. When 8chan was a giant I barely used 4chan, having to wade through shit just to get anything meaningful going sucked. But after 8chan was killed by glows the resurrections and all alts since have been barren in comparison after anons lost any faith in anything with 8. I'm not talking about 8moe which was one of the copycats after 8chan->8kun
By the time I was a regular on 4chan again, the /mlpol/ merge happened and I had gotten used to filtering out a lot of the noise and I was there for a lot of the early energy. But over time I visited 4chan more and mlpol less to be involved in whats currently going on 4chan was just faster for getting any info, reaction, discussion. Even though there was a lot of butting heads, it was worth the trade off to make something out of that chaos.
For /mlp/ it meant prompt threads in a spur of the moment like when I was inspired by bootleg ponies that was one of the threads you'd never see on mlpol, generals with lots of content, show discussion, just things to talk about. But now I generally hate that people have stopped trying, coom dominates or mindless crap I feel nothing for. The board was a shadow of what it was, and there's no sign of everyone being on the same page with the bunkers. Like nhnb is the anti-thesis of the freedom that I liked but some people on /mlp/ think it's the better option even permanently.
[Read more] >>385667Are you ready? I hope so.
4chan is structured to hijack your dopamine receptors.
>>385672I mean coomposts are dopamine crack, so it's always been this way, not just 4chan, mlpol is equally 'bad' in this context. The faster posting can be addictive, but so can unspoilered porn jacking off or gooning.
I've been through the gamut of boards being sfw and nsfw, with overbearing puritan mods on some of 8chan's many original boards or the absolute rule breaking shit that won't get deleted on /mlp/ after being reported over and over with obvious bias making everyone hate the board or hate the users for championing one side of the bias or another. And now that there's info that private reasons mods can add notes to ignore reports or strongarm bans it just makes it worse.
>>385640Even smuglo has nothing at all. Im shocked and dismayed
>>385667Too many anons want to become the niggers they fight.they are jealous of their gayop jannie bs instead of apalled
>>385624Nobody from /fg/ or
isekai is in there bro. Theres threads from 2019. This boards /a/ is basically /po/
quality > quantity imo
I'd rather have a community of real and genuine anons than endless spam.
>>385679It's true./a/ is the "too little, too late" effort toward a former staff member's grand scheme. The idea was to TRY to make a pony site receptible to weebs. In the end, he is on to making silly amounts of money and no one cares about anime.
I've only ever used 4chan and /mlp/ and I used it because it was the best place to talk with fan of the show about the show and to find stuff that was created without needing a stupid fucking sign-in and I could call out faggots and niggers for what they were
others might have hated it but I liked the general threads because after the show ended there wasn't enough going on to sustain discussions and it was a good place for fans of specific characters to go to specific threads and show off any green, art or music they made, and the spirit of the fandom was kept alive because of the rewatch streams and the anniversary streams, I don't see us being able to congregate like that if we're scattered to these alts
I don't know when 4chan will be back, but I doubt it'll be gone for long, and when it's back, if it's back to it's normal self, I'm going back to /mlp/, and if it's not back to it's normal self I'm not even sure if I'll stay around here if it won't feel like the fandom with how dead it feels
>>385703Hit the nail on the head, exactly how I feel too. It just isn't the same here, and it's very lonely.
>>385707Also, I was in the middle of a discussion about Trixie before the site went down, I really wanted to see to the end of the discussion.
>>385703Honestly a break from doom scrolling the chans sounds healthy but my life situation prevents me from doing anything productive for 10 moar days
>>385707>>385708we'll go back home soon guys, don't worry
>>385652It's not about "popularity" as an abstract metric, it's about having more stuff to talk about. It's nice when you wake up and most of the threads you were watching have something to reply to. It's less nice when you wake up and most of the threads you were watching have between 0 and 3 replies, and none of them are relevant to any discussions you were involved in so you close the site again and that's the limit of your engagement this time.
Mind you /mlpol/ is actually pretty good right now. It's a decent chunk of the /mlp/ activity and has enough stuff going on to actually self-sustain a bunch of conversations, it's nice. But there's still currently less to talk about than there used to be on /mlp/.
>inb4 it's all artificial mod bait shill bot janny spam!!Even just taking a couple of generals I was a regular in, which have set up bunkers either here or on nhnb too (and even taking into account both for those who have threads on both), there's some that used to get easily 20-50 posts overnight and that now get 5-10 or less.
>>385727this
I don't give a shit about popularity, I don't care about schizo rants about how artificial mod spam janny fag whatever shit, I want to be in a place where it feels like discussion happens
>>385729You dont know that greenmarepussy. He could be a filthy phonezigger
I may be in minority here, however once 4chan goes back I feel like I will try to stick around, I like Anons in here (even if they only post once a day) so I kind of wish to give back to the folks that help me during this harsh time of refuge.
>>385742oh don't get me wrong, when 4chan does come back I am going back there, but this place is good and I'll definitely check in more regularly
>>385742>I may be in minority herenot really, I also want to sneedpost here
altchans are fun to use when their admins aren't fucking with its userbase
Let's play a game!
Guess when 4chan is coming back:
https://strawpoll.com/kogjRdArNg6I will forever stand by my sentiments that the mods and literal tranny jannies deserve it.
It didn't cross my mind, but looking back it's surprising how this kind of thing didn't happen sooner.
>>385742Definitely this. I honestly even kind of regret not coming here more in the past, this place is cool.
In my defense up till now every time I'd check in every couple of years or so it felt so slow that it really felt like there was nothing to talk about. I guess I'm just not in the right altchan mindset where you visit once every 3-6 months, reply to a bunch of threads, leave, and in half a year come back and check if anyone's replied. It feels odd. To the seasoned altchan browsing anons, how often do you actually get sustained conversations when replying to months-old posts like that? It's just not the same if you're talking into the void and the original anon won't even bother seeing your reply.
Also the lack of a thread watcher meant I'd have to manually check back every few months or keep some tabs permanently open, so in the end even though I tried a couple of times I never bothered to become a regular here.
Hopefully now with at least a few more anons like us sticking around things might remain at least slightly more dynamic. And if Pupper is really working on a thread watcher that'd be very big. But either way I'll make a conscious effort again to try checking in a bit more often regardless.
>>385850There's no need to apologize anon, it HAS been dead as shit. A chan board is nothing without posters, and for a while now there's been ill enough posters to count on one hand. I'm astonished (and grateful on levels you may never understand unless you attend a con and get some of the free food) we're having this exchange. Greet the world with open arms, as Polites would say
>>385853Yeah, I getcha.
I sincerely hope that the simple explanation for this is that it was born of an April fool's joke, and that, like myself, many checked it out but ultimately had no reason to make it their second home or anything like that, and so it was left to languish as an obscure altchan and of course inactivity begets inactivity as those who found it interesting but weren't super dedicated to sticking around also began dropping off as activity tapered off.
And if that's true, in turn I equally hope that now, many anons will have significantly stronger and warmer feelings towards the site. You guys took us in during our hour of need and gave us home, warmth, comfiness and poni when we needed it and had nowhere else to find any. I may be getting sappy but I'm sure I couldn't have been the only terminally online anon for whom /mlp/ was their literal online home, and /mlpol/ being here genuinely means a lot to me.
>>385707I will say though, being able to upload 5 images and videos with sound is really nice, and I will miss that.
>>385742I may return once in a while. I may not be as /pol/-minded as the common anon, but I enjoy having a place whwere I can dip my toes into politica without seeing BLACKED or obviously paid shills.
If there's an argument, I can see sources. And if it's fake, is ignored. /mlpol/ was always a good fusion, and the fact many came here rather than 8 or u18 means is good for a reason: community and engagement.
I will surely go back to 4, but I'm going to visit this place more often now.
>nearly a week without any news
I mean, it's 4chan of all places so I'm not expecting them to give daily updates on how getting it back is progressing like twitter or reddit would if they went down, plus trying to keep a low profile with how much work they have to do, but at least hearing something would be nice
>>385779You should not have added two weeks if you wanted real answers
>>386085Heil Atlas /)
I was reminded of you a lot friend!
>>385861What shocks me more than anything is how dead smuglo and other /a/s are. Theres nothing happening on these boards. Nobody is going there. Where do i find the thread? I want meat!!!
>>385850I probably already have (You)s I didn't know about with no thread watcher. RIP.
>>386071Dude, just let it be. Is fucking Hiromoot. For all we know, he cashed out and dip, leaving the site in bigger flames that before.
Damn, I never thought I said this, but I wish Moot was here to save us all. But for what is good, he probably got brainwashed while working in Jewgle.
8kun and 8moe are having technical difficulties. Things may get even more intetesting.
>>386172technical difficulties as in too much traffic from 4chan going down, or technical difficulties as in the alt chans are being attacked too?
