Transhumanism and Incentive Structures

As we all know many of the incentive structures in modern society that kept our civilization going are breaking down. The promise of a family is all but dead with no fault divorce, rewarding jobs are becoming harder to find, and a house is becoming a pipe dream for most. As these incentives disappear so too does the incentive to participate in society or to even care about the long term health of civilization. There doesn't seem to be any ending no fault divorce while women are the majority of voters, AI is only going to take more jobs, and reducing zoning restrictions to build more houses would tank the portfolios of powerful companies. It is unlikely these incentives are coming back any time soon. Our society will need new incentives and it will need them soon.

I believe transhumanism will provide the incentives for people to participate in society and care for its long term future. AI generated pharmaceuticals and senolytics will greatly increase life expectancy which will give a clear incentive to work and care about the future of society. Increased life expectancy and quality will also help reduce the damage done by low birthrates which will eventually be null issue as artificial womb technology improves. The need for intimacy will likely be filled by companion robots for men and if they press the right Darwinian buttons will be more satisfying than the deteriating relationships situation we see today. Your horse waifu could be here sooner than you think.

This stuff is coming and it is coming very soon. AI powered mRNA cancer vaccines are currently in the works, the Children's Hospital of Pennsylvania is currently discussing human trials for artificial wombs, and humanoid robots can now be purchased for less than $20k. We will live to see all of this. Will it be enough to get people to engage with society again?

As long as Jeets don't get the tech, it would be good. That said, this new tech would also increase tensions as there will be tons of outdated farm equipment roaming around the land they were imported in.

They could be deported... or repurposed.

Your soul is not being transferred to a computer database metaverse or whatever, you're getting shot point-blank and an AI will pretend to be you.

I don't think we will see mind uploading anytime soon. I do think we will see biotech advance to the point where longer life spans become the norm though. Enhanced intelligence using technology like brain implants or tFUS is also a possibility in the near future.

To give you all an idea of how fast this technology is advancing this thread is older than this article.
