it was a health and safety nightmare also, Buddy Ebsen originally was cast to plat the Tin Man but the aluminum dust they used as makeup put him in the hospital because it coated his lungs in metal dust, the broomstick blew up on the woman playing the witch and left permanent scars on her legs and the green makeup they used was copper based and it stained her face for months, and the snow they used on set was asbestos LOL

Vileneuve, Eggers, Aronofsky, Tarantino, and Nolan are all masterclass directors who have produces masterpieces. Not all of their movie are good, but to imply that no modern movies are good simply demonstrates your lack of culture and ability to objectively evaluate the principles of storytelling, direction, and cinematography. To be fair, Wizard Of Oz got a ton of extra effort put into it, because Disney wanted his first color movie to be amazing.
