/MLPOL/ Movie Night
We like movie nights on Fridays. These movie nights are usually prefaced with a Pre-Stream event before we watch a movie or two, which is then normally followed by several episodes of Ponies.
Registering an account on the streaming sites we go to is not required.
The Pre-Stream for the Movie Night usually starts at 7:00pm EST.
https://cytu.be/r/FlappyPterodactyl is the normal room for the Pre-Stream.
The Movie Night proper usually starts at around 8:00pm or 8:30pm EST.
Location varies depending on various factors.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0493464/shooter is a pretty good one, wanted is physics silly, but fun still
>>374766>>374768Wanted is pretty fun as I recall, I might throw that in the queue. Shooter I don't think I saw, but that sounds like it could be a good one too.
The scheduling is off today for reasons. I'm going to get some stuff in the room, open the playlist, and then I'll be away from the room for 20-30 minutes.
We've got longer format stuff thrown together quickly, and I paid more attention to the formatting of the stuff later on. Feel free to save the playlist or open the playlist links to any stuff you miss that you want to check out later.
That said,
we're live with a ghost account in the room. Spooky.

An official announcement post seems like it'll make sense for this. We've got a bunch of longer-form content in this week. Less music this week, but still a couple of bumpers.
MLP videos include a Keyboard Ponies Compilation (with new scene), Wind Striker Theories' video asking “Did Cozy Glow know how to use spells?”, a video on the MLP:FiM finale, banqui0's History of the Brony Fandom But Way Too Fast, and a video from four years ago just titled “What Happened to My Little Pony” by Negative Legend.
The final item before Undergrads is an animation called “Peanut Factory”.

RivalriesNitz and Gimpy enter a trivia competition but end up competing against each other in an inter-college competition.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Still live, still running.
Pony Theme of the Week is "Dustmotes".
https://cytu.be/r/FlappyPterodactylhttps://cytu.be/r/FlappyPterodactylhttps://cytu.be/r/FlappyPterodactylNot sure if anyone else here has ever worked retail, but "Superstore" is apparently a really funny show. Would it be possible at all to watch it in the future?
One more week of summer. I hope you're hanging in there and that you're able to make the heat of the season work for you. Perhaps by planting seeds and growing stuff?
For tonight's structure, I decided to theme it around the “Tiny Sky” playlist / album by Skyshard[1]. It's got six songs in it, and it's mostly orchestral stuff. In order to prevent that from taking over the whole tone of the night, I've added a bunch of electronic music from Cider Party's “Uplifting” playlist[2] by a variety of artists. One of the songs is a cover of SoGreatAndPowerful's On My Own[3].
Bumper videos for the night will be taken from the channel of the animator Batsy[4].
Our Undergrads episodes for the night are about a financial aid cheque not showing up, followed by one themed around identity crisis.
There are three more episodes this week. Does the group want a three-parter next week, or a two-parter followed by the next week having the last episode and some kind of documentary or review video talking about Undergrads instead?

Theme of the week is Potted Plants, because gardens in the summer are nice.
https://cytu.be/r/FlappyPterodactylhttps://cytu.be/r/FlappyPterodactylhttps://cytu.be/r/FlappyPterodactylHello all, here is tonight's movie schedule:
Merrie Melodies: Hollywood Steps Out
Wodehouse Playhouse: The Code of the Mulliners
The Lion King (1994)
Probably the last of the great Disney animated movies.
Poni:
S1e16: Sonic Rainboom
G1: The Magic Coins parts 1 and 2
Gragalols:
S2 eps 44 and 45 - The Gathering parts 1 and 2
Afterparty:
Counterpart, probably another 4 eps or so if anyone wants to watch.
>>375432I was also recommended "Resident Alien" as a show with a premise similar to Invader Zim, but live-action and really funny.
>>375596Seconding Invader Zim, endlessly strange and entertaining.
>>375432>>375596>>375678Invader Zim we could definitely do, I have that one and it's a good show. Resident Alien I'm not familiar with but I can look into it.
Superstore I remember watching the first episode of and I didn't find it funny. I remember it having a fairly strong anti-white vibe, but maybe it gets better later on. We could try it at some point if people are up for it.
Actually, while I've got people's attention, I might as well float an idea I've been considering. Since the cartoon/anime selections we've been showing have been fairly popular, and since a post-stream-stream is getting to be a regular tradition, I was thinking of putting together a regular late-night anime block that would run after the main stream for anyone who wants to stay up late. I was thinking of modeling it after old-school 2000s era Adult Swim in terms of program selections and aesthetics. I was thinking of taking maybe four anime series, showing one episode of each per week, and maybe having a couple of Aqua Teen Hunger Force episodes in between, the program would probably run for about 3 hours or so post-movie-stream. We could probably start it up as soon as we finish Counterpart. Let me know what you guys think.
just commenting to get off the satan number of replies
Invader Zim sounds good, too.
As a reminder, we've got three episodes left in Undergrads. Do we want to try a three episode run tonight, or a two episode pair like normal and then I'll try to find a retrospective video or something related to the Undergrads Movie to pair with the episode next week.
Next: For the next show in the first chunk, do we want another shorter show or a longer runner? I could slap Invader Zim in, or maybe try out something like Megas XLR.
>>375704Start Aeon Flux if you want a short series
>>375706Well, I've been jumping from short series to short series because ReBoot was four seasons plus two movies, I think. Or the fourth season WAS the movie.
I'm thinking that short series' balance out well with longer runners like Gargoyles, which have multiple seasons. Otherwise I'd want to put something like major science fiction shows of the early 2000's golden age in, or long runner older anime that I never made the time to integrate into my watch schedule.
There's a lot of possibility to change this chunk of the format if someone thinks they have a good suggestion. I'm a bit limited in what I can do, but I could probably work something out. If anyone's got some brainstorms they want to suggest, toss 'em in.
I've got things ready to go.
Friends, find five free Fluttershies in the fotos from this first Friday of a five Friday month.
There's a smaller artist, Maromi, who only has 3 pony songs and 1 non-pony song out so far. They seem to do Fluttershy vocal covers that seems to have gotten a few thousand views. Then I've put in a handful of Koron Korak's recent work (mostly a few hundred views per song, but more songs), with a handful of tracks from BGM.
For bumpers, I've dropped in a few Battlebots compilations of about 2 minutes a piece, along with assorted other videos. At the end, we'll have a 5 minute video about making lumber without a sawmill and a short about growing potatoes.
As usual, bumpers and various songs are shuffled together.
Undergrads will be ending with the last episode and some sort of extra Undergrads content I'll search up on YouTube.
I'll be taking suggestions for what kind of new series you want to add. I'll find something that could be more of a medium length series. Only 2-3 seasons. Or maybe there was a longer series we only did a little bit of a while ago.

Hey everyone, I had something come up and won’t be able to stream tonight, sorry. We will resume our usual program next week.
>>375729Oh ho. Thanks for calling ahead.
I hope your day goes well.
Evening all, here is tonight's schedule:
Looney Tunes: Meet John Doughboy
Wodehouse Playhouse: The Nodder
Joe Dirt (2001)
Poners:
S1e17 - Stare Master
G1: The Magic Coins parts 3 and 4
Gargaoles:
S2e46 - Vendettas
S2e47 - Turf
Tonight we wrap up Undergrads and begin a new chapter of... something else.
Keeping with the theme of early 2000's animation, I tossed in the Zeta Project, a spin-off of a more well-known and well regarded series. The Zeta Project is about 26 episodes and two seasons. Consider this a beta test with the “seed” episode. I thought of this because the main robot character reminded me of Cal in Undergrads. This is not a decision I've put a lot of thought in to.
I'd like to try something a bit like Legend of the Galactic Heroes or some other classic sci-fi, but I'm not sure how the longer episode format would impact the flow of things. This will be a deciding factor.

UnderGrads [Finale]Episode 13 -
Screw WeekDuring the final week of college, Nitz tries desperately to attract Kimmy. Jessie becomes more annoyed with Nitz for ignoring her obvious attraction to him.- - -
The Zeta ProjectBatman Beyond S2 E15 -

Movie schedule is coming soon to a theater near you.
Stream room is open if anyone wants to join us in the meantime
https://cytu.be/r/FlappyPterodactylAlright, here is tonight's movie schedule:
Merrie Melodies: The Heckling Hare
Wodehouse Playhouse: Big Business
Orgazmo (1997)
Another Trey Parker/Matt Stone joint. Mormon missionary gets duped into becoming a porn star, funny movie as I remember it.
Poners:
G4: S1e18 The Show Stoppers
G1: Mish Mash Melee, Woe is Me Parts 1 & 2 (I queued up 3 shorts tonight so we don't end up splitting a short two-parter)
Gargoyls:
S2 eps 48 and 49: Reckoning, The Possession
Also, quick announcement: I will be away next week and unable to stream, so you guys will be on your own. The following week (August 30) will include the three-part conclusion of Gargoyles.
Things are once again running comfy.
We've got some pony, some rants, some pony shorts/bumpers, some non-pony shorts/bumbers, a rant, and a short audio story. This all precedes a video guide on how to keep your Snowpony cool, especially in the summer. The video involves real
actually real liquid nitrogen. Now seems an appropriate time for this.
I've also decided to swap out that Zeta Project show for Drawn Together. It's funny, /pol/-like in it's jokes, Tara Strong is a VA in the show, and it's a time capsule show. Could be fun.

Drawn TogetherSeason 1 Episode 01 -
Hot TubThe housemates meet for the first time. Foxxy tries to teach Clara a lesson about racism. Toot must come to terms with the fact that she is no longer a sex symbol when she falls for the (gay) Xandir, who is on a never-ending quest to save his girlfriend.Musical number: "Black Chick's Tongue"Season 1 Episode 02 -
Clara's Dirty Little SecretClara reveals that she has a tentacled monster living in her vagina, which, after Toot angers it, eats Wooldoor and causes the other housemates (except for Foxxy) to attempt to destroy the monster. However, Clara later finds out from her "evil" stepmother (via magic mirror communication) that the only way to get rid of it would be to find her Prince Charming. Meanwhile, Ling-Ling is busy with a load of dirty dishes.Musical number: "La-La-La-La-Labia"~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In respect for Elway's RD image, I've decided that the Pony Theme of the week is:
SOCKS.
That means to open up PonerPics in a background tab and get some thumbnails of themed images if you want to fuck around in chat, and definitely have some Pony Tax™ to pay when we're in intermission before the switchover of the stream happens.
See you soon, and here's to a good night!
https://cytu.be/r/FlappyPterodactylhttps://cytu.be/r/FlappyPterodactylhttps://cytu.be/r/FlappyPterodactylI think I won't make it to this movie night, hope everyone has fun.
Henlo once again. Summertime seems to demand certain activities be tried once in a while. In this spirit, the Pony Theme of the week is CAMPFIRE. Get out in nature and enjoy a bit of smoke inhalation. It keeps the bugs away.
Drawn Together was a surprisingly good pick for last week. I'm looking forward to seeing these episodes.
Most of tonight's playlist is going to be music. No real bumpers this week. Some music videos, a comic dub from Scribbler productions, and a Comedy Fanfic reading also by Scribbler.
The music is drawn from three sources: Turquise Splash, since he made a song recently and ended up on my front page; Algo at All, because he makes great stuff with music videos that feel like SGaP's old work; and MCO945, since they're a very productive artist who's music gets little traction for some unknown reason.
In between the Pony and the Drawn Together is a short that I think is good for people to see.

Drawn TogetherSeason 1 Episode 03 -
Gay BashWhen the other housemates begin to wonder if Xandir is gay, their suspicions are confirmed later, and a worried Xandir tries to adjust to life out of the closet; however Foxxy holds a gay bash to force Xandir to admit and embrace his homosexuality. Meanwhile, Spanky forces Ling-Ling into slavery by making bootleg sneakers (using a sewing machine) for an NBA competition.Musical number: "Ling-Ling's Lament"Season 1 Episode 04 -
Requiem for a Reality ShowA food competition leaves half the housemates (Captain Hero, Clara, Spanky and Wooldoor) on the brink of starvation. Toot, on the other hand, overindulges and soon has to undergo weight loss (as advised by Xandir) with disturbing psychological results. Meanwhile, a starving and infuriated Spanky bullies Wooldoor, believing that he is the reason for his starvation. Wooldoor is comforted by Clara and her woodland friends, although Spanky, on the brink of starvation, devours the woodland creatures, unknown to Clara. Meanwhile, Captain Hero begs Foxxy for food, and she responds by taking him to the basement and torturing him, sparking a short-lived romance between them.Musical number: "Bully Song"~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
https://cytu.be/r/FlappyPterodactylhttps://cytu.be/r/FlappyPterodactylhttps://cytu.be/r/FlappyPterodactylThe pony theme, as a reminder, is Campfire.
That said, we are live and ready to rock. See you soon!
Alrighty folks, we should be back to our normal schedule again this week, sorry for any confusion my absence last week may have caused. Presumably Flappy is still getting his program together.
Here is tonight's schedule:
Merrie Melodies - Rookie Revue
Wodehouse Playhouse - Buck u Uppo
Road House (1989)
MLP:
S1e19 - A Dog and Pony Show
G1 - Fugitive Flowers parts 1 and 2
Gargoyles:
Hunters Moon, parts 1, 2 and 3 (series conclusion)
Five Fridays in a row, within the same month. I don't think it means much, but having that happen seems both too rare and too common at the same time.
I hope you had an active week so you can all enjoy sitting back and relaxing with this week's Stream Night.
Music is the core of the night, but I went a bit heavier on the shorts than usual. Some highlights of the week include two comic dubs; Love Today [PMV], by Arthychaud; TJ Pones' “Italians” short animation; and All Fun & Games (MLP in Real Life) by Lancer.
The wrap up of the first section is three vids to hone in on the idea of history. Specifically Fandom history. There's some recent (2023, one year ago) news of Liam Neeson keeping the Lightsaber prop, A banquo) video on the History of the Brony Fandom Byt Way Too Fast, and the The Return of Harmony Orchestral Suite by MelodicPony. I expect Fs in the chat on that last one.
After this, we've got our regular pair of Drawn Together Episodes, then it's on to the other chunk of the night.

Drawn TogetherSeason 1 Episode 05 -
The Other CousinCaptain Hero falls for Clara's mentally retarded cousin, Bleh, who is visiting the house, after Spanky promises to pay him $50 to seduce her. Meanwhile, Ling-Ling is discovered to secrete a hallucinogenic drug when disappointed, and Xandir, Toot and Wooldoor take advantage of this.Musical number: "Girly Girl" (background)Guest star: Sarah Silverman as BlehSeason 1 Episode 06 -
Dirty Pranking No. 2Spanky teaches Clara how to prank the pizza man, sparking a romantic relationship between the pair (of which Clara's father disapproves). Meanwhile, Xandir is upset when Captain Hero keeps canceling their plans together (due to Captain Hero's heroic duties).Musical number: "The Time of My Life" (Broadcast only), untitled replacement song (DVD only)Guest star: Jonathan Kimmel as The King~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Theme of the week will be [i]Sonata Dusk. The Blue One. Great at being simply memed, not so great at other stuff.

>>376512I hope you friends had lots of fun!
>>376512For a new series, maybe we could watch
Have Gun Will Travel? There were a lot of 50s western shows made but this is my all-time favorite. The plot of each episode is very well-written and oriented towards a more discerning audience. The characters are also very human in their motivations and Richard Boone is not only a great actor, but subverts tropes regarding western heroes in a great way.
There was mention of a Gargoyles Catch-up Stream.
I don't quite remember where we lost track of things, exactly, so I'm going to try to start the Gargoyles stream at the start of the Avalon Arc. If you have a different spot to start from, then please have an episode guide ready to tell me the season and episode.
I'll get things set up for a bit, and then try to be ready to start the night two hours from this post coming up. We're going to be going fast and loose on this one.
GARGOYLES!
Another show that's known for good writing. That means that it's non-episodic nature is probably going to reward following the plot.
Unfortunately, between needs for sleep and other life-related things that pull us away, things are getting a little confusing in the show. This is for that!
As mentioned in the previous post, I'm not entirely sure where the falloff point started, but I do remember not quite being able to wrap my head around the Avalon storyline. That's where we'll start our catch-up watchthrough. If you've got a particular set of episodes you want to watch, then pull up an episode guide of some kind and point out the episodes. We'll get them on.
Room's ready and running.
https://cytu.be/r/FlappyPterodactylhttps://cytu.be/r/FlappyPterodactylhttps://cytu.be/r/FlappyPterodactyl>>376547Classic series, good times, looking forward to next time ^^
>>376549I'm going to run out of MLP / Gargoyles images real quick.
Maybe if someone's got AI image generation up and running on their machine, they can start generating some relevant stuff and I can grab it from PonerPics.
Working on a few finishing touches on the stream night. It'll be up shortly.
Hello horsefriends!
Tonight's lineup will feature some of Man News' longer videos as bumpers, a bunch of songs, some comic dubs, and Argodaemon's “Sombra's New Groove” short animation. I've also taken the liberty of exhibiting most of the music-ography of Thyrai's youtube music. Five of their eight visible songs on their profile.
Regarding Drawn Together, this night is the night we move from Season 1 to Season 2, with a two-parter. No cliffhangers in this stream night!
Whatever your preferred confectionary delight is, I hope you'll get settled in for a good night!

Drawn TogetherSeason 1 Episode 06 -
The One Wherein There Is a Big TwistDue to the large number of cameras watching them, the housemates grow agitated, realizing that they are not receiving any prize for starring on the show. Toot snaps and complains to the producers; in response to this, the housemates are locked inside the house, but they protest and are subsequently let out. However, the housemates are then dragged into a competition and pitted against each other in a parody of The Apprentice. Foxxy prevails in the end, only for them all to find out that this competition is just a devious plot devised by the most powerful entity of the entire series. In the end, the infuriated housemates hijack a helicopter and blow the house up, but the helicopter is thrown off course and the housemates crash-land on a deserted island.Musical number: "Cash Cash Cashety Cash" (parody)Season 2 Episode 01 -
The One Wherein There Is a Big Twist, Part IIContinuing from the last episode, as the helicopter plummets from the sky, Toot is swept out of it and is beached on an island, where the local natives, thinking she is a whale, feed her offerings. Meanwhile, the housemates crash on a "deserted" island, but are rescued and returned to their respective homes, where they find that they have grown used to life with the cameras, and Wooldoor, distraught, supposedly hangs himself, and during his funeral, the remaining housemates return to the ruins of their old home, where the entity from the previous episode says that they can return to the house, although they must find a new housemate. After several auditions, the externally sweet and innocent Strawberry Sweetcake becomes the newest cast member. However, when Wooldoor, having not actually died, returns to the house, he reveals that Strawberry Sweetcake has a dark secret, which Foxxy, using her mystery-solving abilities, proves.Musical number: "Shit Sandwich" (seen only in DVD version)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
