What do you mean by "real"?
For me, it's a pretty useful form of stress relief: it help to clear your mind and just chillax every once in a while.

It is a real thing now weather it works for everyone is not clear. Never seen anyone getting magical powers or something from it but it probably helps with keeping a healthy state of being. I've got a buddy that has recently got into some sort of breathing exercises to increase the time he can hold his breath. He says that it's been working and he feels like he understands the universe when he does it.

I was mostly talking about the ones seen in (((health))) classes. I live In right the middle of Commiefornia, Hippie county, and i swear most people will buy chewed up rocks if you say it's organic and locally grown.

I fucking hate the organic meme. Every now and then you'll find organic produce that actually is of higher quality than the regular stuff, but 99% of the time it's just a sticker and a higher price tag.

What made me Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee most in a grocery store was seeing celery being sold next to celery stalks. It was a bunch of celery for like two dollars, and a bag of celery where all that they did was cut off the base and leafy top of the stalk and sold at over 100% markup over the fuck huge celery bunch that was right next to it. What's worse is that the expensive tiny bags of pre-cut celery were nearly sold out. Fuck people.

It's even worse where I live. While it may be healthier for you, the place I live seems to BREED rich hipsters. You know, the kind of people who will spend all their money on bead shops? I remember I had a friend who would work there. His mom was a chink who immigrated to the U.S. after studying fashion, so he had to help with writing checks and shit. He once told me about this obese fuck who had ordered something and sued them. He had warned the lady multiple times that the clothes might not fit her, but she had ignored his advice. And when she found out that she was too fat, she tried to sue for "Discrimination". She said it was because she was Mexican, fat, and when she heard that a man was on the phone, because she was a woman. Jesus fuck.

You have a conscious and a subconscious. Meditation can let your conscious be quiet enough to let your subconscious pass on its information or concerns. This information could be solutions that the conscious can't locate.

This is useful for people feeling like they are conflicted as it can put the conscious and subconscious in sync.

Well, there's certainly no harm in it: it's literally just sitting still and doing nothing. I'm not so sure about all of the spiritual bullshit, but meditation is certainly a real thing.

For me it has been super useful. The problem is having the discipline to actually do it every day. I certainly feel more collected and put together afterwards. There is a reason Himmler had his men do Yoga.

as to real do you mean the relaxation and health benefits or the esoteric and Buddhism stuff? because yes to the former two and i want to believe in the latter. Try it yourself just 10 min a day should be fine for starting out

Meditation improves alpha brainwaves and overall senses. I meditate nearly everyday and it's saved me from getting snakebites in the wilderness.

This is a good point. I'll add by saying that not all forms of meditation are the "clear your mind and sit there" variety. Comprehensive and intensive stretches are another practice which engage the mind (in a 'moderating/maintaining the stretch' sense) while also leaving the mind free to process whatever.
