The long term goal, besides converting all of the inhabitants of this world to the one true football, is to kill the Terrasque. But before that, we need to uncover all of the powers of the Pyramid, and all of the secrets of the past party. To do that, we need the manual contained in the boiler room (or whatever) near the treasury at the bottom of the pyramid. For some reason the entrance is blocked off through the pyramid itself, and the only way to it is through the ant colony, hence why we are there. As for how we get through the ant colony, I think we just pay them off and see if they let us pass
