The SSRS Kostroma lies idle in the southeastern bay of Mended Horn Island. Only the front portion, the two forward masts and the front of the superstructure that sits in the center of the freighter's hull, is illuminated by a pair of dim lights that glow orange-red, a sure sign that the boilers of the Kostroma are dying, and the lights will soon go off. The remainder of the ship's funnel, and the mast behind the superstructure are visible only in silhouette. The gibbous moon and starry night that would have provided a clear backdrop to the black hulk of the Kostroma have been smothered by the overcast skies and light rain.
A sound comes, not from the Kostroma, and indeed, not from anywhere at all. A low, vaguely tinnitus-like sound that drains out the sound of silence. It calls to you. It calls to everyone.
"Come to the Kostroma, good soldier. Join us here. Come."

But if he has his dexterity bonus then a 14 does not beat his AC. I’m not sure if him foraging would leave him flat footed, especially with Silver to take him out of it. But then would being pushed back leave him flat footed? If it does, even a flak jacket would only give him 14 AC, and Posey’s 14 would beat that
Now that I look at it, idk if he would have been flat-footed anyway.
>>194930Kira definitely seems distressed at the dead body in the room. She wonders to herself if this pony's soul is lost forever, or if by some miracle he'll still be able to be rejoined with Ouroboros once the cycles turns.
>>194932You have a dead body in your body.
Idk who else to target, so I guess it's Cavalier's turn?
>>194936Does Cavaliere have a clear line of movement to any of the remaining enemies?
>>194933>>194934kek
>>194937I think? With a move action?
Why are you asking me.
>>194939It was intended for GM pony, sorry.
Cavaliere crouches down, intending to charge.
>>194930>>194931>>194929So basically the question is this - did the pony have his dexterity bonus to AC? If yes, then the shot misses, if no it hits. Looking at the rules I don't see anything that says that a bullrush or looking around would cause him to loose his dexterity bonus, but I'll hear arguments to the contrary.
I will say that Posey one shot killing the pony, while very impressive, would be contrary to some other party member's goals.
>>194932Awww
>>194933Kek.
I will say that the juxtaposition between Kira's silly, friendly, general cinnamon-roll-like personality and her existence as a large monstrous creature that needs to eat creatures similar in size and shapes to ponies to survive, could easily eat ponies, and has been demonstrated time and time again to effortlessly constrict and disable ponies - is why Kira is allowed as a second PC
>>194937No. There are two lines of objects down the center of teh room. Think of it like a grocery store having two rows of shelves creating three aisles. The row of things is low enough to allow visibility over it, or ranged attacks over it, and of course it isn't that hard to just go around it, but it prevents a straight, diagonal line across the room. And those unimpeded lines are what is required under D&D rules to go long distances within the six seconds of a turn and still have time to make an attack
>>194941Can Cavaliere get adjacent to any of the hostile ponies with a 20 ft. move? Are there any open exits on the other side of the hold?
>>194942Why not just move them shoot?
>>194941>I will say that the juxtaposition between Kira's silly, friendly, general cinnamon-roll-like personality and her existence as a large monstrous creature that needs to eat creatures similar in size and shapes to ponies to survive, could easily eat ponies, and has been demonstrated time and time again to effortlessly constrict and disable ponies - is why Kira is allowed as a second PCI have a Breezie Frenzied Berserker I am interested in playing...
>>194941I mean, technically he could move to them, just not attack
>>194942Not directly adjacent, no
>>194945I see...
We could just call it a movement turn, with everyone in Cargo hold 4 just moving around as the remaining ponies reposition/retreat
>>194944Cavaliere's gun doesn't have a non-lethal setting, sadly, nor can he shoot weapons out of the hooves of ponies (unless if we pull something from DnD Modern, but let's not do that now), and we're not in any imminent danger.
>>194945kek
>>194946Last question is, can Cavaliere run to the door on the opposite side of the hold to block an exit?
>>194948He can try, though he’d have to get past Silver and most likely he wouldn’t
quite make it
>>194948You really should have bought some +1 merciful bullets if your intent was to play a pacifist.
Maybe buy a merciful weapon later.
>>194949Can't he just fly over silver?
>>194949Not make it? He can still move 80 ft. in a run move. And if the place is actually littered with junk, he could just fly to the other end. Are you really sure? Where are Silver and Posey relative to each other? If he can't reach the exit itself, he will position himself a little bit in front of Posey, maybe to her right or left depending on layout.
>>194950Those are a thing?
>>194952Well, it would get him close to the door. Perhaps 10 feet or even less. Only Silver and maybe the rifle pony Silver pushed could be in the way
>>194952Merciful
>The weapon deals an extra 1d6 points of damage, and all damage it deals is nonlethal damage. On command, the weapon suppresses this ability until commanded to resume it. Bows, crossbows, and slings so crafted bestow the merciful effect upon their ammunition.Pretty mid for a +1 enhancement, but given the tactics you prefer it's pretty essentia.
Okay, I overestimated the size of the cargo hold. Yeah, Cavaliere could probably get to the door or close enough.
>>194953>Perhaps 10 feet or even lessThat's close enough to make attacks of opportunity on creatures trying to leave.
>>194955I'm looking through flight (
https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Fly) and I'm not sure what Cavaliere's flight speed would be, or what is meant exactly by minimum speed. Is it movement speed? If so, he should be able to get to the other side with 80 ft. of movement, or if it's less he should still be able to make it due to it being a direct line. The worry would be more if it's
too small to safely do so, but he should be fine. He is a poor flier so let's approach this step by step:
Takeoff and ascent: half speed, so 10 ft. intervals. To be out of range of melee attacks he ascends to 10 ft. He does so at a 45 degree angle, which takes two movement steps and moves him forward 10 ft.
Level flight: minimum forward speed is 10 ft., regular is 20 ft. He must move at least 10 ft. between up and down. This is one movement turn.
Descent: to land, he descends 10 ft. at a 45 degree angle, which also moves him forward 10 ft. This fits within one movement turn, concluding his run turn.
From what I gather the distance he can travel is between 40 and 50 ft. Is this possible within the confines of the hold?
>>194956I mean, he can just run past Silver
The ceiling isn't exceptionally high, maybe 20 feet, but that's probably enough
I will say that if he comes within the rifle pony's space that would provoke an attack of opportunity.... which he's already expended on Silver this turn so no, actually it would not
>>194957Oh, well if you insist, Cavaliere takes the boring option and sprints to the other side of the hold. If the withdrawing ponies want to make an escape they will have to brave his claws.
Sorry for wasting everypony's time. Still, it was fun to figure that out. Now I have a frame of reference. If he wasn't encumbered he could move much further which shows why weight is a big deal with this character.
>>194956....Has racial flight speed really not been resolved yet?
>>194959He's on a boat now
The rifle pony off to the left shoots at Cavaliere

The pony in the center tries to move through the door.
That is... other than Ideal for Cavaliere
Kira's turn, then Silver's
>>194957Silver steps forward to the center pony trying to flee with his sword and returns the favor of the butt bash, bringing his sword's pommel right on down his noggin with quite a bit of force.
[1d20+9 = (11+9) = 20][2d6+8 = (4+8) = 12]Kira, meanwhile, makes to wrap around the pony on the right while he's distracted.
Touch Attack:

[1d20+13 = (7+13) = 20] >>194959I don't want griffons to be too powerful (not that flight is ever a weak ability) so making them poor fliers by default and have bipedal weight limits seems reasonable. We never decided on griffons having a charisma malus but I've gone without that so far and it would hurt Cavaliere substantially.
>>194960>>194961Perhaps I made the wrong choice. Cavaliere is now down to 3 HP.
The bullet hits him square in the torso and will certainly leave a scar. The griffon staggers, and seems close to falling over, but with supreme force of effort remains standing. Moreover, he throws a punch at the pony moving past him.
[1d20+4 = (12+4) = 16][1d6 = 2] >>194965Cavaliere hits hit, and does hurt him, judging by the stagger. But it isn't quite enough to keep him from getting through
>>194964squeakyOpposed
[1d20+2 = (16+2) = 18] Posey's turn
>>194964>>194965Silver hurts the pony, but he just barely staggers through
>>194964>>194966squeakyThe pony is grappled
>>194967Kira gently pets the pony's head, as she speaks to him. "Don't worry new friend! We'll chase out all of those nasty thoughts the Traveler put in you and make you better!"
Sorry. I got stuck at the gas station.
>>194967Are there any other enemies I can reach?
(I'm terribly sorry for the delay)
>>194971>>194972With Melee? I don't think so
>>194974What about with an arrow?
Posey takes a move action to reposition and shoots whatever target she can

Confirm

>>194975Yes.
I'm guessing this is towards the rifle pony that just shot cavaliere? or would she attempt the one that got away?
>>194977The one that shot cavalier.
>>194979Is there any cover nearby that may protect from the riflepony?
>>194980Yes. Random crates and similar
