Nintendo Switch, account transfer -> what games can you play?

I noticed if you deregister your jailbroken switch from nintendo website, you can use that switch's legit acc and games you bought on a new switch

That's cool and all, but what happens when switch 2 comes out? Does it render all switch 1's paperweight, since everyone will probably migrate their accounts to switch 2? What games will you be able to play on those Switch 1s that have been deregistered? Naturally I don't care about the jailbroken switch because that can play all games (just don't go online), but for my legit switch 1 that can play games online, it would be cool to have it remain relevant even when Switch 2 comes out.

I don't know. I've always meant to jailbreak my old switch, but I haven't turned it on since nintendo started charging for online play.

All consoles charge for online now, so I guess nintendo's just following suit (microsoft's been doing it from day one, sony started with ps4 or 5, don't remember). Jailbroken console's good for offline play, but for online play (if you fancy kart or splatoon), you need one dedicated "clean" switch (or switch 2)

Ok a reference for those that ever wonder the same, should've posted earlier..

it seems many people opted to do data migration or whatever. I didn't choose this path as it seems like it would've transferred everything from old (a second, legit switch 1 that I have) switch 1. Instead I just created second account for my switch 1 (made it a child account of my main account), this way any of the saves I have on the old switch 1 remain, and if you want I think you can transfer the saves manually on games that don't support cloud (e.g. some pokemon games).

Obviously you should only do save transfer or child account creation on a legit switch 1 only, if you have a jailbroken switch try cut as much ties to it as possible to your main account (always keep it in offline, without wifi and on airplane mode), "deregister" it from the website and everything, I wouldn't recommend transferring save game data from jailbroken switch 1 to either a legit switch 2 or to a legit switch 1.
