Amber winces briefly and looks back at her post. The waiters are too busy to help, and the mother might not be able to catch her alone. Amber tries moving to a side of the restaurant they're moving away from. They have to get turned around, right?

Meanwhile, her owner mother has also entered the hall, going for her filly

Then Amber can feel herself physically pushed aside with an "excuse me," as the mother goes over and picks up her filly, placing her on her back.

The family of four, now seated in one of De Sew's combo tables near the entry to the kitchen, watches the ponies as they return with the filly carried on her mother's back like a trophy.

The mother, though she looks embarrassed, has not left yet. Her other filly remains sitting on the bench

The mother walks past Amber, and turns her head to make the remark
"Sorry... it's just so hard to keep them in line without their father"

"No, no, it's alright, no harm done…" she reassures her. Against her better judgement, she asks, "Will he be arriving later?"

She turns her head away from Amber, moving forward, and in the direction of her other filly, the one on the bench. For more than a second it may seem that she did not notice Amber's question, or that she was not interested in answering it. But then, with her head turned away, she says

"No."

She turns to the newcomers. "Howdy. I'm sorry, but you're going to have to wait a bit."

The stallion sits down next to a white mare in semi-formal clothing, who carries on a conversation with the other mare in the four, who sits alongside the other stallion. The lone mare in the other set sits quietly with the troublesome lemon filly under her forelegs, and with the second fully next to her.

Now that it's a little more relaxed Amber idly wonders what time it is.

Well, hats aren't that uncommon. Amber wonders if she should give military personnel priority or if that's restaurant policy, but there's no space now regardless.

"G'day ma'am. Table for two."

I believe the original family of four received one of De Sew’s combo table-booths that opened up. There should currently be the mother and her two fillies, the two stallions and two mares, and the couple that just showed up with the stallion in uniform.
