>>130653"Yes" She nods, and smiles awkwardly. She walks off
White Sands asks
"So... you don't seem to know modern society very well... Where are you from, exactly?"
>>130654"Oh! That's so neat! My name is Slow Burn. I'm not a priest yet, but I'm an assistant to the Priestess here. I hope to be a deacon someday."
>>130655"From the jungle," Iron replies as his mind pondered where exactly he should go.
>>130656Whit Sands walks out, and starts to walk on her own, leading Iron
"I know you had never seen a phone before. Not only that, the concept was completely alien. Say, how much _do_ you know about Changelings. I mean, what did you know before coming to this city?"
>>130657"Only heard about them as some sort of story for foals to behave and follow the rules the elders taught," he continues "did not really buy it, considering how brutal they were depicted as."
>>130659"But what did they
say?"
>>130658"Oh, it's great! I get to help in the rituals, and talk to all sorts of ponies. Mostly older mares, but all sorts of ponies! I decided to serve after there was this terrible terrible storm and I though our house would wash away, and then the sun came through the clouds and it was the most incredible thing ever! There were some other things but I think that was the biggest thing -"
>>130660"They tear your chest open and eat your heart while you're still alive and tied up with some gooey stuff," Iron explains stoically "then others come along and eat the rest of the victim piece by piece. All because the pony thought it was a good idea to trust a stranger to lead him into a secret fun spot, or whatever other secluded place the elder could think of."
He slowly turns to see Sands, having trotted up next to her. "Ones like to throw in a mocking, sadistic tone while they do that, others prefer to paint them as cold, calcuating predators. It is up to the elder."
>>130661"Well I don't know if it was a real 'miracle, more like a reminder of how bright and beautiful life can be in the toughest of times and to never give up hope, but yeah Princess Celestia controls th sun so it wouldn't be there without her anyways. There are a lot of ponies! Most of them want something though. But there was this one stallion a few days ago who came in who said he fought zombies and it was really interesting, like a comic book or something -"
>>130662"Well, we've seen hearts ripped out and victims eaten piece by piece, but it wasn't Changelings doing it. The
Elders tell you this?"
>>130663Iron nods. "I doubt they actually believe it," he adds "probably they are simply retelling what the last elder told them, going back for far longer than I was alive."
>>130664"Uh huh. Did you tell me that you didn't know who the Princess is? Or was?"
>>130663"Zombies?! I know city life can be very queer, but I've never heard of zombies being around before."Rolling knowledge (history, hopefully this is the right one for the job) regarding zombinos in Equestria:
[1d20+6 = 22] >>130665Iron shakes his head. "Most I heard is that they do not believe the Sun is moved by a pony, and therefore nopony really talks about her."
>>130666>Artifiicial 22>Satan TripsZombies are associated with Coljun culture (uncomfirmed for any acual zombies), an alleged outbreak of Zombies in Albion a couple hundred years ago (questionable), and myths of a great zombie war in Northern Griffonia.
"Oh yes! He says he fought zombies with sword and gun in some old underground... place. He came back with these glasses full of salt and they had spirits in them or something"
>>130667"What had you heard about the outside world?"
>>130668"Nothing much, as that sort of talk is only for the elders to discuss," Iron explains.
>>130669"Who were the elders?" She asks
>>130668Amber tries to suppress a giggle.
"Old ponies love to tell tall tales. He was probably just dealing with some nasty critters, and I bet those salts had liquor in them. He sure sounds like an interesting storyteller though." >>130670"A bunch of old coots that keep track of the knowledge gained through ponies on their spiritual journey," he answers "some of them were promoted to elders if they bring tons of knowledge and resources. Cannot enter their group otherwise."
>>130671"No no! There were blue auras of magic that rose up to the ceiling! He said there were real zomies!"
>>130672"When was the last time you talked to your mother or father?" She asks
>>130673"Last time I spoke to mother was... 2 seasons ago while my father about 1 or so," Iron answers, softly poking his chin "...I hope they do not miss me too much back there."
>>130673Amber narrows her eyes skeptically.
"Zombies are an old mares' tale, and those stories are from a long ways away. It's not that hard for an unicorn to make dancing lights; he probably wasn't an unicorn but I'm sure he found some way to do it." >>130674She takes in a long breath, and hold it.
"I don't even know how long it's been, for me"
She continues walking
>>130675"The bottles did it on their own! I saw it!"
>>130676Iron nods stoically. "I will probably reach your level soon," he comments absent-mindedly.
>>130677She blinks
"And that's okay with you?"
>>130678"...not really," he answers "but I do not have high hopes I will be able to see them in less than... 16 seasons or something like that with my lackluster achievments so far."
>>130676"It wouldn't be the first time a pony used magic secretly and claimed it was something more. I'd want to believe you but I think you've been hoodwinked." She suddenly looks a bit bashful.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to be so brusque…" >>130679"What constitutes an achievement?" She asks
>>130680He droops
"Oh..."
>>130681Iron shrugs. "I have no idea," he promptly answers "this is supposed to be a spiritual journey, so the details were less than precise. At least I should have material proof of my success."
>>130681She rubs her fetlock against her leg, looking to the side.
"So, erm…you really do get ponies from all over Equestria?" >>130683"Most are from around here, but there are some from the swamps, from Canterlot, from Fillydelphia, from Bales, from Vanhoover, and other places. At least I think there are."
>>130682She turns her head forward
"Well, I know I have to report back... You know, I
don't have any material proof of success... or any success to report... I am kind of afraid" Her ears fall slightly back, and she frowns
>>130684Iron nods. "I feel you," he answers "disappointing the ones that took care of you and expect you to do amazing things only to give nothing really hurts."
He briefly glances forwards as well, admittedly still downcast.
>>130684She resumes a small smile and looks at Slow Burn.
"That's really interesting.
I've been trotting around the city all day and I've noticed how different every neighborhood is from another. Have been around all of Baltimare before?" >>130686"Oh, yes I have! I am from south of the city, but I live in the North now."
>>130685She nods, and looks forward. She leads him around a corner, and is most definitely leading
"It seems your situation is a lot like mine, in many ways..."
>>130687He nods back, agreeing with her overall evaluation, keeping any potential comments that could ruin the moment in his mouth as he keeps on following her without any complaints.
>>130688She stops
"Alright... Here is the Equestrian Union station... I can't go to a consulate... let's see if they let me send it"
>>130689"Oh, there are plenty of houses and old apartment buildings. There's the river down there and the old hospital. Some areas are nice, but many are run down. There's many old mills there. Most of the city is north of the river, but there are towns south of there. Those are more like the old Equestria"
>>130690Iron nods. "Shall I accompany you or do you prefer to be alone on this?" he offers.
>>130692With a nod, Iron steps forth. "I will come with, then," he proclaims stoically.
[1d20 = 5]>>130694"Oh, well there's this cathedral, there's the movie theater, there's some farms, there's the paper mill, there's the monastery with the orphanage, there are some nice restaurants, the's the town of Northside and the waterfront there -"
>>130693"Alright..."
She walks in . Whatever else Iron may think of White Sands, she is rather pleasing to look at from behind.
She walks in, and towards a mare, hoofing her a letter. She says a few words, evidently city names
>>130695The nice landscape Iron's currently is seeing only serves to reminds his own issues regarding his opinion on the painting.
Iron waits without saying a word as the transfer starts.
[1d20 = 19]>>130696"Sorry, we'e not sending to there-"
"Well what about..."
>>130697Uh..."Oh, there's the carnival, there are places to go to the beach, there's the zoo -"
>>130698Iron's ear flicker at the rejection yet keeps calm, knowing his own input won't really matte.
[1d20 = 16]>>130699"Yes, we can send to that city"
White Sands breathes out, visibly relieved
>>130700No... But the river is south and the bay is east"Oh yes! There's a Ferris wheel and everything! And all sorts of strange beasts!"
[1d5 = 2]>>130699>>130701She comes back. She is shaking
"Message sent..."
>>130701Iron can't but exhale as well, wondering what is her next move.
>>130703"I guess she'll be sending one back..."
>>130704"I suppose we will pick it up here?" he asks
>>130705"Yes. Here." She answers
>>130706"Oh there are almost certainly dragons in Baltimare"
>>130707Iron nods. "Alright," he answers "at least they will know you are alive."
>>130709"Oh yes! There could be nice ones, even though there are mean ones. It' s always great meeting new ponies!"
>>130708"Yes... She will... I hope she will be happy about that"
>>130710"A lot of expectations from you?" he asks.
>>130710"I don't want to take up too much of your time but…I have another question." She taps the stone floor of the sacristy
? with her hoof nervously.
"Does the church offer any loans?" >>130712"Well... We try to sometimes help those in need...
But we're not allowed to charge interest, and loans are risky... It's a tough subject"
>>130711"Well, I don't have anything to show"
>>130714"I understand," Iron replies before looking from side to side, considering his options for the day.
>>130714She's blushing as she looks at the floor, with her auburn mane nearly touching her white-tinged snout.
"I rented an apartment as cheaply as I could but even so I didn't have enough money for the down payment, and I was told I didn't have any options. I had to take a loan from a local bar…I'll pay it back no problem in a week but being in debt is such an itchy feeling. I'm just wondering if you have any advice." Okay, I have to sleep for the night
>>130715Iron's options are known but to him
>>130716He tilts his head
"You took a loan out from a
bar?"
>>130720"Anything else you may want to do for the day?" Iron asks Sands.
>>130721She looks anxious, as her head is locked forward looking at nothing
"I've never been in prison and released, but I imagine it must be like this. Being released from prison, I mean. What
do you do after being in a cage for so long, being separated from any ties you have in greater society? No job anymore, no family here..."
>>130722Iron's ears droop as he heard Sands' response with a nod. "I apologize for putting that burden on you," he offers, vines swinging inside his head in an attempt to find out what sort of thing they could "...maybe you would want to come along to some of my potential jobs."
>>130723"I don't know what else I would do, as I wait for mother"
>>130724Iron nods once more as he pokes his chin. "At what time would you estimate the response to arrive?" he promptly as he starts to turn his body towards the door while still looking at Sands.
>>130725"In the past it took less than an hour, but the world is different and the situation with me is different. I don't know."
>>130726"Then let us see if we can find something that is worth our while," Iron replies as he starts to walk out the building, feeling like visiting the illegal live animal seller or Cauldron after she's done with her teaching. Considering the latter pony is going to be stuck for a while in the restaurant, he plans to first pass along the restaurant in order to find out if she managed to finish Khoi's training for the day and if true, ask her about where to find some gangster jobs. Otherwise he'd go to the former mare for that same reason. Sands can, at any moment, propose something herself if something pops into her mind.
>>130727Alright, they presumably walk back to the restaurant
>>130728Correct, in search for the mythical striped zebra mare with reluctant affiliations to the mob for a more private talk, without the father present, to be more precise.
>>130729Iron walks into the restaurant. Blanche is there, but Oke, Cauldron, and Khoi are not in line of sight
>>130730Spotting Blanche, Iron walks towards her without much pretext. "I should have asked this the last time I was here, but is Cauldron available for a little chat?"
>>130731She looks to him, and has a mostly neutral expression
"She's in the kitchen. I don't know how much time she has"
>>130732Iron nods, rubbing his chin softly. "Do you know when she will be free?" he asks instead.
>>130733"No... She doesn't take smoke breaks. You can go back and ask, or I can"
>>130734"Go back as in, go inside the food preparing spot?" Iron asks with a tilt of his head.
>>130736"Oh, then I will do that," Iron concludes as he starts to walk towards the entrance to the kitchen.
>>130737Iron moves towards the back of the room, towards steel doors, as Blanche watches him cautiously. Opening the door, Iron can see Black Cauldron in a white garb with a hair shield, and Khoi in a similar white garb with an overly stretched hair shield
>>130738Seeing all the hair shielding on Cauldron and Khoi make him tilt his head softly as he tries closing the steel doors before prancing towards the two mares. "Huh," Iron lets out in order to announce himself "that is one strange set of clothes. Should I be wearing it right now?"
>>130739I know Sardonic is going to go "ackshually, it's called 'x'," but the point is they are wearing clothing to prevent hair from getting in the food, and I don't have the time to figure out what those things are calledBlack Cauldron walks up to him
"yes. What do you need?"
>>130740Iron turns his head before back at Cauldron. "I may want to... exercise my forelegs for a reward, if you get what I mean," he whispers to her "Do you have anything of the sort?"
"No. I don't." She walks up closer, and seems to be trying to get him out of the kitchen
>>130742With a nod, Iron turns around to get out of the kitchen. "Alright," he answers "sorry for disturbing you." He glances at Khoi and waves with a "I know you can do it, Khoi! You have that spark in you!" before complying with Cauldron's wishes fully, exiting the kitchen.
>>130743She follows him out of the kitchen. Khoi watches Iron
>>130744Iron's ear flickers at hearing Cauldron's steps behind him still, glancing a bit sideways in anticipation.
>>130746"Oh, I figured you were about to tell me something else," Iron replies as he stands outside the kitchen with a tilt of his head "...are you?"
>>130747She waves her head
"Did you come here because you thought I was going to say something?"
>>130748"More like have somehing productive to do," Iron clarifies "since I am a bit too free currently."
[1d3 = 2]>>130749She tilts her head
"You want something to do?"
>>130750Iron nods to confirm her suspicions.
>>130751"There are always things to do, but I am training Khoi at the moment. The regular cook will be here shortly"
>>130752"Oh, I did not mean to take away from Khoi's training time," Iron replies with a little shake of his head "but I do want to help on keeping her salary affordable."
>>130753"Well... I know what
I have to do. I am less certain about what you have to do, or can do"
>>130754"Could you give me a route in order to get money?" Iron asks "I do not mean cooking, as I am not one to do that, but... somehing a bit more physical could work."
>>130755"There are all sorts of ways to make money, if only you have the will. What did you have in mind?"
>>130756"Something about strength," Iron replies without missing a beat.
>>130757"Well, I got this place, then there's a matter of getting materials and customers. And with... other business, someone needs to be talked down. Or... well, talked down in the better option, but there are other ways it can go down. I think others in the business are having problems getting past customs, but that isn't my business..."
>>130758"So either I locate and transport materials, lure ponies to eat here, do some convicing and helping out other ponies to pass through something," Iron tries to surmise as accurately as possible. "How would I go about doing the first two?"
>>130759"No, that's not....that's not what I meant"
>>130760"Oh," Iron replies with a little pout before rising his ears up in realization "...perhaps you could point me to the right ponies in order to understand what I could do better."
>>130761"No, I just mean there are some things to do. For instance, the potion shop. I found a place, but there are materials to acquire for it, as well as customers. Then in that
other thing I do, you know the thing, someone needs to be dealt with. Let me rephrase that. Someone needs to be
talked to. And then so far as business for that
other thing I do, well, you already know what I do. It involves a tire iron. Other creatures do more with
animals and
heavy crates.
Customs is giving them a hard time." She looks past Iron, towards Blanche
"Even these are not everything, but I've been helping the Kirin mare."
>>130762Iron nods softly, listening intently. "Ah," he answers with a sheepish smile "sorry about that. Perhaps my best choic is to start grinding on the ingredients." Recovering into a normal smile, he turns to Cauldron. "So, what would you need in the short term that I could potentially find? I do have a lot of experience from the jungle to get some of the ones growing on the wild and the time to gather more mundane ones otherwise."
>>130763"There are definitely those that grow in the wild, but we are in the city, and that is what makes it harder"
>>130764"If I go out and try to extrach the ingredients' source from the soil and bring it to the place, would that work?" Iron asks.
>>130765"Do you mean like transplant trees?"
>>130767"I don't have the land, and in any event many of the sources are kind of diverse. Some of them can be bought in bulk, others of them, not so much"
>>130768"What if I go collect a lot of these ingredients from the wild and bring it back to you each day?" Iron offers
>>130769"Well, in theory these should all be collected in bulk so many trips isn't necessary."
>>130770"I believe I can do that," Iron answers confidently before pouting softly "how many of these ingredients would be considered as 'bulk', however? For that matter, how heavy are they?"
>>130771"Well.... It just depends on the potion. Some ingredients, like mint for health potions, are easy to find. The bark of New Mareland Ironwood, for stoneskin, has to be imported. Then there's aluminum powder, tiger fur, kelp..."
>>130772Iron has a blank look on his face, a bit surprised at the amount of ingredients. "Uh, kelp is... one of those deep water plants, right?" he asks "Mint should be pretty easy to find, tiger fur I may know where I could find, but this 'ha-lum-ee-num' powder I have no idea what it is."
>>130773"Well, don't worry too much. A lot of the ingredients I can just buy on the open market and it really isn't a big deal. Some requires deep jungle plants or animals and is kind of hard to find. Some has to be imported from countries that... Well, there are just aren't trade agreements with those countries at this time. And some are chemicals that are heavily regulated now."
>>130774"So what could I do regarding that?" Iron asks with a tilt of his head.
>>130776"The acquirement of materials," Iron clarifies.
>>130777"Well, that's kind of the question, isn't it?"
>>130778"What would you require directly from the jungle or other wild areas?" Iron replies, trying to narrow down the potential ingredients that he can reliably gather with his strength and experience with tropical biomes.
>>130779She looks back to Iron, then to White Sands
"What about
her?"
>>130780"Maybe she can help with finding new customers," Iron replies, turning to face Sands "could you, Sands?"
>>130781"Sure I guess" She shrugs
>>130782Iron turns back to Cauldron with a happy smile. "We will get both problems covered that way, unless you believe it is wiser to rack up customers more than ingredients."
>>130783"I think it would be much easier if you just talked to someone who smuggles or imports"
>>130784"Where would I find that?" Iron ask with a tilt of his head.
If you want to conduct sessions earlier, that's actually better. I'll adjust my schedule to make it work.
>If you have experienced stutter/hangs on scroll on full thread view (viewing all posts), I found the bottleneck causing it. So now you should be able to view the full thread with update turned on and problem free scrolling (no stutter/hangs).
>>130795It still stutters every 7/9 posts.
>>130798>It still stutters every 7/9 posts. Is this when viewing all posts or also just partial (last 50,100, 200 posts), and what browser are you using so I can do more testing.
Just to have asked a dumb question (just to eliminate the basic case) I assume reloaded the page so the newest js gets loaded. >>130799In a fresh loaded page:
- View all posts stutters big every ~10 posts
- View last 200 posts stutters big every ~70 posts with very small ones every ~10
- View last 100 posts stutters big every ~40 posts with very small ones every ~10
- View last 50 posts stutters big at around ~35 posts with very small ones every ~10
Browser is Dissenter (Brave).
>>130800I assume the stutter you talk about is when scrolling. and that every 70,40,35 post you scroll by you get a little stutter "freeze" when "Auto update" looks for new posts. Or is this when you scroll normally, and if you can try to turn off "Auto Update" (uncheck Auto at bottom of page) to see if you still get stutters. If you still get stuttering while scrolling after Auto update is turned off I will have to looks further into it as it won't be related to autoupdate where I found a big bottleneck.
The initial load of big threads/threads will always take a little toll as it has to do quite a bit.
>I tried loading this thread in Dissenter and didn't experience any stuttering (well got the tiny stutters I forced it to scroll superfast (click-hold on scrollbar) but that is due to rendering and I would not expect it to be able to do that fluently, not even notepad will do that) >>130802I disabled the update and moved the cursor out of the way to avoid to render previews; now the scrolling is smooth in every case.
Under the same conditions described above, viewing all posts of this long page, the stutters happens every 500 posts.
>>130804Is it so that if you turn on autoupdate the stutters comes back every time it looks for updates (every 5 sec)? Like if you scroll continuously up and down you get a freeze every 5 sec? Or is it usable as it is now, like you can force it to do a few freezes but under normal conditions it won't be a nuance or particularly noticeable?
>>130805Correct, with the update ON the scroll stutters every ~10 posts.
It's not a terrible but it might be annoying for some autistic poner.
In desktops, at least for me, it's not an issue but I don't know about phone fags as I don't own a phone.
>>130808>Correct, with the update ON the scroll stutters every ~10 postsI'll do some more investigation to try to get down the time. It might be the load of the data from the server so little to do about it, but I will keep it in mind and do some testing. At least I have gotten it down from 2 sec freeze every 5 sec to under 100 ms (on test computer). So at lest it is significantly improved over how it was.
>>130811Yep, added this feature when I created the new code. It still should be theoretical possible for a normal user to hit the perfect zero ID. But getting it when modposting is nowhere near as spectacular compared to actually get it through the grace of math and magic. >>130508Silver nods in understanding.
"Now, I do not mean to be rude, but reward for this information would be appreciated. Things such as this are how my partner and I make our living, and it was quite risk to acquire this information in first place."
>>130822Stay safe. Don't make a wrong turn and accidentally accelerate into a crowd of protestors.
>>130821He pauses for a moment, looking solemnly at Silver. Then he answers
"Dear Sir, knowledge of what took place here is a public good. It was created by many creatures over many generations, and so too will it benefit many creatures over many generations. We are public servants and do not work for profit. It is our job to collect knowledge, and disperse it to the populous. The money we do have is mostly from donations or from public revenue, and is necessary for wages and essential expenses. Not many will pay much money for history, and those who would cannot, yet it has a value beyond that of money. Surely there is a spirit of generosity in you, to return to creaturekind what it created."
>>130823Kek
>>130824I've watched some of his videos. In particular his video on magic and worldbuilding has stuck with me.It's probably worth noting that Silver has a large stock of ball bearings stillThat's what the Canterlot vaults are like >>130828Silver looks at him for a few seconds before sighing in submission.
"Very well. I would still request some form of compensation if you can provide it, if not Bits then something else. I do not lie when I say that tasks such as these are how we make our living."
>>130829He smiles in a way that is not entirely assuring
"I am sure some arrangement can be made"
They try to count out the letters and notes
>>130830Silver reluctantly nods at him.
"As for why I came here originally, if there is anything that you need help with here, be it corpse moving or what, I am here to help."
>>130831He looks up to Silver momentarily, pleased with the letters
"We were only hired for the Archaeological survey. But two of our professors, and two graduate students are down inside or nearer the structure. They could tell you."
>>130832Silver nods at him again.
"Thank you. Have good day."
Silver goes to seek out the professors he mentioned.
>>130833"Very well Have a good day" he says, with minimal enthusiasm. The green unicorn helper tries to pin down the pieces of the letters on the table, as Peer Review looks at him.
The better question is, how does Silver enter the catacombs, or approach it?
>>130834With his flashlight in his telekinetic grip, he goes in through the quarry.
>>130835Looking down into the quarry, Silver sees two ponies. One is a greyish brown Pegasus Stallion, who is moving about in the open quarry, evidently moving things, and the other is a white unicorn stallion with a pith helmet, inspecting what seems to be a dead body. The water level is even lower than it was the day before, and from the water, many pieces of destroyed undead corpses show
>>130836Silver goes to the white unicorn stallion, offering a greeting to him.
"Hello there. Who are you?"
>>130837The pegasus remains out in the water, while the unicorn looks up to Silver, with an expression of surprise. He wears a green jacket.
"Why hello there good sir. I am Dr. Grant, professor of Archaeology with Misty Tonic University"
>>130838Silver offers him a hoofshake.
"I am Silver Sword. I was pony who cleared this place of undead. I was wondering if you needed assistance with anything."
>>130839He looks down at the hoof for a moment, before finally reciprocating the shake. His grip is rather weak. Then he looks back up to Silver
"You
cleared this place?! A Sonamubulan mummy from the second century BCE has been ripped to shreds!"
>>130840He gives Grant a sheepish smile.
"Heheh...I did not actually do *that*. Some bait I had put down to attract undead also attracted giant bird, who then proceeded to get into fight with mummy and other undead over bait. Needless to say, giant bird won."
>>130841His eyebrows raise in surprise at Silver's story
"Well, I would have appreciated a less... destructive, method"
He looks around in the quarry
>>130842"Yes, it is...regrettable. Let me make it up to you. Is there anything you need help with here?"
I am available when you are.
>>130785“Well, I know a few, but I can’t go out just yet. This Kirin here needs my training.”
>>130786“So... how much did you borrow, and from... who, exactly?”
>>130843“Well, out here there is a large amount of material. Rocks, equine remains... even armor”
>>130846Iron nods, getting the picture. "Then I shall not detract from your training any longer," he answers with a smile and a nod "I will see what I can come up with in the meantime."
"Well…" she hesitates before speaking. "It was a hundred fifty bits…from a bar." She looks away, sheepishly.
>>130847She seems skeptical, but she nods
“... Alright. Good luck. It really will... I really do appreciate your help.”
>>130848“I’ve..... never heard of borrowing money from a bar... well, we sometimes try to help those who have large debts, but that’s mostly for those recovering from gambling addictions, or who have borrowed money from the mob...”
>>130849"Oh, please," Iron answers with a dismissive wave and a sheepish smile as he averts his gaze from Cauldron "do not thank my efforts until we reach your end goal."
>>130849Amber looks at Burn curiously.
"No, I've never done gambling before. I've just had to pay the down payment for my apartment. I didn't borrow from a crowd either." >>130850She smiles to him
“There is more I have to tell you, to show you, just now is not the time.”
>>130851“Huh... uh... I don’t
think we can help you? You can ask Priestess Sundew”
>>130846"Alright, what exactly needs to be done with them?"
>>130852"I-I understand," Iron replies with the slightest red tints on his cheeks, rubbing his foreleg softly with his other frog "you do what you do best. Show her the magic that Zebrica can offer."
>>130852She shakes her head quickly.
"No, no, I don't want to to burden you with any of this. It'll just take me a week or two to get back on my hooves, and I can do it alone. I just wanted to know what's possible." >>130853“The rocks need to be moved aside to see what is under them. The remains need to be gathered to be burned or buried, and any kind of armor or clothing needs to be gathered for its historical value”
>>130854“Well, I don’t know about magic... but I will show her food, and spices, because she’s pretty uneducated about that.” He smiles as if what she said were funny
>>130855“Oh, alright. Well it’s always good policy to pay down your debts” he gives an overly big, kind of artificial smile
>>130856Silver nods.
"I was already prepared to handle cadavers, so I can do that first."
>>130856"Oh yes, I just wish I hadn't needed to take out any debts." She sighs.
"Thank you for telling me all about the city though, that was really helpful," she says as she regains her smile.
>>130857“Then that would be a good thing for you to handle. I already have feather duster trying to do some of the more ‘delicate’ tasks.”
He nods towards the Pegasus stallion who is out in the shallow water.
>>130858“No problem! Come by any time!”
"Have a nice day!" She smiles and trots to the entrance of St. Eligius.
>>130860Amber is able to walk out of the room, across stone and tile floor, towards the doors on the front. Amber can see there are a few holes in some of the stained glass windows on the front, and one of them is busted
>>130859"Ah, so that is his name. I will have to introduce myself later. Oh well, off to deal with corpses."
He bids him goodbye for now before going to tackle the corpse issue.
>>130862As above the catacombs, there are canvases on the rocks. One has pieces of armor on it, and the other has legs, and portions of flesh that is best described as mummified. Some is wet and bloated, and some even smells. But most is Black and Tan colored flesh that looks almost like it’s been frozen. On one of the canvases, Silver can see a whole body - one he might recognize as Private Green Basin.
Silver can see pieces of corpses floating. There are few, if any whole corpses in the water, and the water is lower than he left it two days ago. Mala follows silver, ready to wade into the water
>>130861I hope I can help fix those one day she thinks wistfully. Amber trots outside onto the steps. Is there a bakery in the area? Rolling spot.
