Heimlich Maneuver

So I bent my head backwards while sucking on a sore throat pill (or whatever they are called). It almost fell into my throat but thank God it didn't.

Anyway, I'm currently practicing the heimlich maneuver on myself so I can do it on myself or someone else if there ever is a need.

Here's a video:
https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=Performing+the+Heimlich+Maneuver+on+Yourself&atb=v344-1&iax=videos&ia=videos&iai=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DljL9JcK6RnM

I can't really do it with a chair of table (It's just hard for some reason) but when I bend my back forward and slam my right fist with both my arms into my stomach, with some adjustments, I get a what I think is the desired effect.

The images attached to this op is the typical hilarious standard fair but they don't reflect how I feel at all. I have a strong imagination and empathy so after this happened I was basically bombarded by visions of how close death I was and how people could suffer such a horrible death just because they laughed while eating and got unlucky.

Also, (mane)uver. Heh heh but yeah I'm still in shock.

>how people could suffer such a horrible death
C'mon, death by suffocation might be scary and stressful but is painless and fast. Not a bad death at all.

You're probably right. I guess I just feel like it's such a unecessary death.

The heimlich maneuver is important to know I think, but in general, first aid techniques are valuable to know and have practiced!
I'll attend first aid training soon, stay safe folks.

Sure, but I think both are true.

Yeah, first aid seems to be a bit more complicated in it's technigue to master, I agree. Both are not somersaults but still worth to get down if you get into that sort of a situation. Feels like a worthy ub-thread if nothing else.
