Every man should be able to build the things he needs. Thus every man should have a workshop with a variety of tools that he knows how to use. Post essential tools, projects, and techniques for your fellow anons in this thread.
Pics are a 3d printer, a cnc machine, a foundry, a chop saw (for metal), and a miter saw (for wood)

Here are some more essentials. A forge, an anvil, a bench belt sander, a bench grinder, and an arc welder.

These are all pretty useful, but not all of them are essential. A band saw, a drill press (definitely essential), a lathe, a table saw (essential for larger wood working projects), and a kiln.

I had an Austrian hobbyist lathe before, 450mm between points.
I did some model railroad wheels with it and some other pieces.

Is this the 3D printer thread?
I think getting one might be a good idea in this era since things might get a lot worse and they might stop selling them.

Make it one. I have an Ender 3. I would recommend it to anyone. It's cheap, easy to use, and has a large printing area.

Can it make cool things like custom pony figurines, tubes, assorted mechanical parts, custom anime figurines, long sharp metal parts for DIY meme-robot-making youtube videos, and wooden carvings?

2nd the arc welder. If you have the facilities to get a real welder that's even better, but if you have a welder, a reliable saw, and a drill press there is basically nothing you can't slam together.

Yes
>long sharp metal parts for DIY meme-robot-making youtube videos
If you have access to a foundry then yes.
>wooden carvings
Kind of. There are filaments with bits of wood in them that you can use. The final product feels like wood and will take wood stains.
