>In this time, a time of peace and prosperity makes me wonder how long we can live like this. We are truly the most capable species on this planet we have named 'Terra'. We have been given the gift of being able to control the elements, and the very things that make this new world. Although we fight each other to grow stronger, there is no strife, and I fear that in ever-lasting peace, we shall be unprepared, for horrors that are bound to await us.
>>I skipped ahead a few pages.
>Over time, we have noticed strange beings; they walk hunchbacked on two legs, are covered in hair, and appear to be completely primal. We have decided to stay wary of these creatures; there is no telling what they are capable of.
>>Curious, I turned ahead a few more pages.
>The Legendary Council has decided we should help these creatures. After snagging a particle of skin, our top scientists have created a special stone that can change our appearance into that of we have named 'homo-stultus,' or 'the stupid ones.' Some of the braver Pokémon have decided to help these 'humans' – a shorter term, to become just as sopisticated as us. Why, we already have taught them how to make fire.
>>Intreiged by all of this, I skipped ahead again.
>It has been many lunar cycles, and these humans have already learned so much. They now wear leaves and the skin of animals to cover themselves. They have learned how to gather water and cook food. Under our human guises, some of us have started families with them. I too, have found a beautiful human wife of my own, her name is Nanako, and she appears to be one of the more intelligent. She does not mind my natural form; I think I have found…my soul mate.
>>I then turned towards the middle of the book, wanting to know more.
>Our worst nightmares have come true. The humans have begun to use us. They have been kidnapping our fellow Pokémon to extort their powers, using them to create electricity, fires, and water machines for their own survival. The council has decided to declare war on the humans, even though it is against our strictest morals. I fear for the worst…
>>I turned ahead, my heart pounding at this tragic history.
>The war has been going on for three months now. The humans have invented these, weapons made of Steel parts, and now many innocent Pokémon are hurt. My wife…innocent of these monstrosities was killed by a fellow Pokémon. I cannot…understand how these creatures, which we have nurtured and educated, could have become so evil…Arceus believes we may have to flee…
>>I flipped to the final pages of the book, tears silently pouring down my face from my eyes.
>All preparations have been completed; Uxie, Mesprit and Azelf have wiped the minds of the humans, returning them to their primal forms, erasing any and all knowledge we have given them. The Shaymin have restored Terra to its natural state, allowing the battle scared land to flourish once again. We have seized the bones of every Pokémon buried and have destroyed them. The whole world we have reset, our presence shall never be known. Those who have to leave their children and partners…it is a pain no one has the capability of understanding by themselves. Arceus and the others have ripped a portal into an unknown dimension and we are preparing to leave this world. Mew has agreed to stay behind and secretly keep watch over this world, and will tell us when it is safe to return, but I feel that shall never be possible.
>I am very old, my life is short, and I am now blind in my right eye. The things I have encountered in my life are horrific. But…I pray for these humans. Will they make the same mistakes again? Will they but tempted by greed and corruption? Only time will tell. I shall pass away…hoping these messages shall be carried on in the wind, and into the future, where we will exist again.
>>I found myself shivering, tears running down my face as I read Spiritus' final wish. I felt ashamed that humans were so susceptible to corruption and the sins that made it so the Pokémon could never return. I had to speak to him…I had to…
>>"Starr, I'm tired so I'm going to take a quick nap," I said. Starr nodded without looking up, "Okay, I'll wake you before lunch."
>Silently I climbed off the couch, and into my bed, holding the book. I set my head on the pillow, and slowly faded off to sleep…
>I arrived in the Dream Dimension, in a grand library. It was even more beautiful than the Long Island Base's library. I slowly walked among the shelves of books and such until I had arrived at the center of the place. My familiar Lucario was there, reading the same book I had just read. He turned to me and smiled.
>"Come here young Lucario."
>I slowly walked over. Spiritus nodded and closed the book. "These, are indeed my memoirs."
>I gingerly turned the pages, "Is it all true? Humans were like this?"
>He sighed and looked beyond the walls of the library. "Not all humans. You see my young friend, some humans were against the thought of war, like my beloved wife, but it is true that the majority of humans were corrupted by greed and power. We tried to reset the world, but it appears that humans are still under power and corruption. And that is why we can never return here."
>I stared at the floor, "Spiritus, I'll never become like them, I promise you that."
>He smiled, "I should know, you're part of a noble family."
My ears shot up, "Wait…what?" Before I could react, I felt a bright light overcome my senses and I faded away…
>My eyes snapped open, and Starr was shaking me. "You were mumbling in your sleep, is everything okay?" she asked.
>I sat up and yawned, "Yeah, I'm good, let's go get lunch."
