I think you misunderstand. The adoption of the Broncos and John Elway as a meme was not out of disrespect for the Broncos as a franchise, team, or w/e. The adoption originally occurred so that Mlpol could shitpost on 4chan without being immediately banned for GR15. What has occurred since is a matter of momentum, humor, and autism, with no malice or abject disregard to the Broncos as a franchise or Football as a professional sport.
