Some classic car ads. Just look at what they took from us now that engineers must answer to stricter government restrictions on emissions and safety.
Now everything is a soulless, egg-shaped soymobile that's overpriced and designed to fail once the lease expires. Oh, and loaded with tons of gay software, which can be used to monitor you.

Why do old cars look so boxy?
Is there some kind of advantage to that?

Car designs became more angular starting in the 60's once consumers wanted vehicles that looked sportier for the era. It doesn't present any performance andvantages that I know of other than probably having a lower center of gravity. Oh, and they look really nice, imo.
He are some old ads from the 50's that display more rounded vehicles.

Cars are awesome. As a kid I used to get those free catalogues and collect pictures of the stuff I wish I had, I remember a collection of Hot Wheels toys designed to be "out there" and not real. What are your favourite types of cars and why?

I like pretty much everything that isn't an EV. Older models from the 50's-60's are my favorite for aesthetics. Those and old muscle cars, v8 pony cars especially.
Oldies because 'Christine' had a profound effect on me as a kid. Muscle cars because, well, who doesn't love muscle cars? Have you seen that video where a bunch of leftoid protestors get sent flying by a Dodge? It never fails to make me smile. There's just something so 'right' about a v8 muscle car crushing commies and it even makes me feel vaguely patriotic.

The plastic car broke down at least once per trip, repairing it yourself was the fastest option. One had to work for decades just to afford one.
Anyway, I saw photos of american cars somewhere and the chevy Bel-Air(s) always stood out to me. I always dreamed about owning one.

Based taste. I know an older guy that put a 350 in a '57 Bel Air. It sounds amazing and looks like a mobile piece of art.
Sorry that Lada's are such shit heaps. I never understood the appeal of them other than poverty.
