Is it possible to filter undesired threads in these boards?

So, not really a big deal since nobody uses anything but /mlpol/ anyway, but is there some way to maybe… Dunno how to say it good, say I'll just say it: make it so when you click the board links at top it goes to the catalog instead of the other thing that I don't know what it's called because I've never used it in my ~7 years of wasting my life on chans? At least if you're already looking at the catalog on your current board, maybe?

 No.3917

>>3916
If you go to [Options] (top right) you have under "General" the option to set "Use catalog links for the board list". Turn that on and you will get the Catalog instead of the "Page 1" (for lack of better word) of the board.

So there has been some discussion and content to come out of the Anonfilly thread lately. So there was a vote and orange is the /mlpol/ color? I can't help but look around though, and notice that we don't really have any on the board. Even /pone/ has red text< So what if we were to have our own orange text? I'll even go so far as to throw the idea of using it to completely replace green onto the table.

I always found it odd, and frankly kind of annoying in a special snowflake kind of way, that /pone/ would have their own color Anon, especially when, just like 4chan, and just like here, everything is in green. Now we are in the same boat. What do?

Been away and just went thru the thread. As one of the anons who worked on /mlpol/-anon, I had never thought of it as a replacement, but rather a new alternative for those still scorned. Even then, picking green at first myself, not linking how those who wanted an alternative symbolized green with 4chan. Obvious to me now. In the end, I expected either versions of anon to be posted as both are apart of our chan culture, extent of this to anon filly as well

define bait and we'll talk

As far as I understand, a bait thread is a thread which the poster posts with no interest in anyone's responses, only interest in making them respond. In order to have an actual anti-bait rule, you would have to have moderators enforcing against people intention. Anti-bait rules are invoked in order to stop people from responding to things which they wish to respond to. It's nothing but "I know better than you" and "stop liking what I don't like." The rule is only ever executed as a witch-hunt.

>The Character Counter
The character counter in the quick reply window does not work. It remains constant at 6000. (Exhibit A)
The character counter in the top reply window works perfectly. (Exhibit B)
There's already another thread that made note of this issue >>1101… SEVEN MONTHS AGO.

>Stretching

When you stretch the top reply window to where it is bigger than the screen and then hit "Quick Reply", the quick reply window also stretches the same way as the Top Reply window, but the top is off the screen, so I can't close it out or move it. The bottom right corner can used to shrink the Quick Reply window, but the top remains off the screen and I have to reload the page to fix the quick reply window. (Exhibit C)

Granted, I can avoid this issue by shrinking the top reply window BEFORE I hit Quick Reply, but I'd prefer a more elegant solution, like making the Quick Reply window have a constant initial size instead of being affected by the size of the Top Reply Window.

>Removing selected files to upload

Potential newfag issue, but on 4chin, when I want to remove a selected file from the quick reply reply window, all I had to do was hold "Shift" and click on the "Browse…" button, and it removed the unwanted file. Plus, when you hover over the "Browse…" button after a file has been selected, a pop-up box appears telling the user what must be done to remove the file. (Exhibit D)
I tried multiple systems with Mlpol.net (Shift+click, Alt+click, Ctrl+click), but the unwanted file(s) do(es)n't go away and I have to reload the page and start the uploading files cycle again.

Anons, feel free to pipe in with other issues you've had with the Quick Reply window or any reply UI.

Just happy to help

This last one for tonight is just for the search button at the top of the catalogue if people want it to be orange instead of purple
a, a:visited {
text-decoration: underline;
color: #DB7A22;
}

It seems to effect other things as well that were already made orange by something else I had done so I guess there is a conflict somewhere and I'm too tired to figure out which one is overwriting which right now and bed is calling me.
Shown from first to last is default, second is all my orange rice and last is all my orange rice but changing search to white which effects other elements a previous thing I had done/will effect on the default theme
Not sure if it hits anything else, it probably does. I'll play with it more tomorrow

I'll also try to make more comprehensive changes or observations as needed so I don't have to spam the thread over and over

I figured some people may be interested in this. This is a theme for Vichan (the software this board runs on) which gives it a pepe-ish / shadilay feel. Maybe one of the admins can add it in the CSS list?

A preview of the theme can be found in the OP image. If you'd like to give SHADILAY a try, you need to do the following:

1. Open your Options
2. Click user CSS
3. Paste the contents of this link https://raw.githubusercontent.com/OpenIB/OpenIB/1b06875ab90b9d77e8f7ddf0cd16ba15b2089270/stylesheets/shadilay.css into the box
4. Click "Update custom CSS"
5. You're done!

Credits to H0K4CH4N for the theme.

 No.3716[Reply]

Something really made me think after I read it on one of the threads on /mlpol/. Some anon suggested we shrink the catalog size so I asked myself, why would we need to isn't it as big as it is on say most 4chan boards? So being the autist I am I went on 4chan and counted the catalog size of every board and this is what I found.
>All boards besides /pol/
11x14 minus locked Stickies which will very by board.So thats around 154 take removing around 2-10 for off topic or sticky threads at any given point. This goes for all boards besides /pol/ as far as I can tell, slow boards like /po/ and /3/ along with really fast boards like /tv/ and /b/ only have this many threads up at any given point.
>/pol/
No suprise /pol/ is now the fast board on all of 4chan so of course its going to have more threads up. Its an 11x18 plus the two additional stickies making it at just under 200 threads at any given time. However I'd say janitors and mods make it more around 190 at any given time because of how often threads get killed for offtopic/GR3 violation/ect. But add that with 6000 posts per hour and 100 new threads per hour and little to no one is surprised on why /pol/ is much larger.
>Where are we in all of this
We sit at 12x15 which is at 180 threads and due to how this board operates last I checked, we can recover dead threads if a raid happens or a thread is taken down by the mods meaning the only way for a thread to become completely inactive is if this locked out, like the glimmer thread currently is on /mlpol/. I would assume /vx/ is the same but by the looks of it, it has yet to reach the thread limit on its board because of how massive the threads on /vx/ can get. /sp/ as of now looks like its a 12x24 or something byzantine and huge.

So what I've gotten out of looking over all of this is I now agree with the anon saying we need to shrink the catalogue sizes of our boards. A 180 thread catalog on our main board is very large considering we;re no where near as big as /pol/ which is much closer to the catalog size we're trying to emulate. /sp/ is a monster in catalog size, I don't know how large it is at all but it also needs a huge cut in size. /vx/ looks alright for mostly because it hasn't hit over 120 threads on the main board. But overall I'd say cutting both /sp/ and /mlpol/'s catalog sizes down to 150-160 would be a way to keep content oPost too long. Click here to view the full text.

Why is it you would need a configuration option to make user-posts get shadow deleted instead of deleted directly? Seems kinda privacy-invading imo. What's the need?

 No.3714

>>3713
The original purpose was because of GET raiders. Specifically, when Monster tried to take the 77777 and failed, they deleted their thread as soon as they noticed they missed the target. We wanted to prevent that, so we installed that feature in case the sane was tried on the 88888. It defaults to turned off, and is in fact off on every board except for /vx/, where it is on for reasons pertaining to that board. All posts on mlpol, sp, and every other board except vx, that are deleted by the user are automatically permanently deleted.

You can't really get an idea how much satisfied people are in that thread. It seemed like a lot of them just wanted to argue, and that carried over into different threads. You could tell because the first parties were satisfied, including Nigel, while some others came into the thread completely new to the subject at hand & began making "odd points."
