Store Broken?

I was just checking out the site store and it appeared to load graphics for a second before coming up with a blank white screen. I'm using brave, and so as expected chrome also did not work. Loading the page in IE didn't work either, though so I suspect others may be having this issue.

We are in the process of upgrading the store, but it won't be done for some time. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but it should come out some time with the new code.

I'm sorry that I enjoy not having to jump through twenty fucking hoops to play my video games, and even then them crashing on me, kek. Well, have you come across the same issue? Keep in mind that Atlas keeps the site running in part with this store, so derailing is a bit of an asshole move.

Double boot poner, for your own good.
To connect Windows to the network is suicidal.

Necro bump for where is the store? I've already got some t-shirts and stuff, figured it was time for the smug mug. Maybe add some more stuff this time around?

So heres some quick updates.
It has been discovered that with the increasing cancel-culture we find ourselves in, overt nazi imagery (swastikas, particularly) is a deal-breaker for all the companies that have been vetted.
Taking the Burnt Juice shirt design for example, the Swastika on Aryanne's hat on the back-logo renders the shirt untenable for production.
The simplest workaround, both for utilizing the existing design at an affordable price with the best quality would be to omit the swastika and bundle the shirt with a sharpie. It's not an ideal solution, but it is one that could be almost immediately implemented.
Other suggestions have involved modifying the graphic to include a small censor block, or perhaps a bandaid over any swastikas or other images.

Yes, the store is still offline until we can get a manufacturer on board, but board input is necessary given the compromises involved

I would recomend looking into whatever the hell these guys pull to stay afloat, they are pretty overt in what they do and while I know they have had some problems in the past they seem to consistently stay functional selling general natsoc memerobilia and loads of swastika covered items and literal busts of Hitler.

Any chance of us every bringing back the store? I know there are people with supplies out there looking to make things.

I've been buying from this family since like 2009. Good people. I got some of the books from Micheal Kelly's personal library after his passing. They ship to Canada and know how to keep the CBSA from poking around. They get by through by selling history, not idealogy. They don't sell things that say what ought to happen, but rather what has happened. They can do this for the same reason The History Channel can charge people to view their station. Silicone pony vaginas with swastikas stamped on the side unfortunately are not historically significant enough to be considered something to learn from.

Selling handmade goods? Still not likely. The problem is the awful opsec involved in both the selling and buying. A couple years back some guy was having a Chinese factory make little Aryanne plushies, without the swastika, mind. He had like a preorder reservation page or something but some lefty goons hacked and leaked the names of the people who showed interest. There were no serious repercussions but it went to show that there is obsessive autistic retardation in the pony community yet, and it wants us rightwingers out. Any collective that floods and trolls 'MLPOL the imageboard' is also going to find ways to fuck with 'MLPOL the boutique'. Even if what's being sold isn't expressively fascist, the nature of MLOPOL paints anything it does or endorses as a target. So handcrafting goods and putting them on the shelves of users here is a business made risky by people who hate us. Only through a discreet trust network of cryptocurrency exchanges and unkept records would this be viable. It's why Marefair (or any convention) is a popular concept among dissidents. In-person transactions that don't even require a mutual exchange of real names. That's not possible through the internet.

The safest and easiest solution would be to submit innocuous artwork to sites such as Teespring or Redbubble and accept whatever pittance those services pay out. I've uploaded garbage memes before that have sold, and while the payouts weren't substantial, there is definitely a market for people wanting to wear smug_pepe.jpg as a t-shirt. I don't know who bought it, I don't know where those shirts were printed and sent to, and the purchasers didn't ever learn my name. But still I got some of their neetbux and they got my frog on their chest. A collection of nice pony shirt or mug designs or whatever can be made by a group here. We then all have the art uploaded for products by one account owned by someone who is capable of paying this site's hosting. We can buy the goods, pray to Celestia that the kids working Redbubble's sweatshops don't get a cut of the money that Redbubble takes, and then convince ourselves that we've somehow won.

If somepony has the capacity or interest to make non-nazipone goods, they're probably already doing it for themselves on Etsy. If you know people who are considering making and selling nice small horse things, please encourage them to do so.

>Any chance of us every bringing back the store?
In a word, no. In two words, probably not.

The specifics are in that archived post the other anon quoted, but the basic gist is that the original store we had in 2017 was run by a friend of mine who is no longer associated with the site, and it's gone forever. A few years ago I did manage to get another store going, through one of those Shopify type dropshipping sites where you upload your designs and they sell it for you (I honestly don't remember which one I used).

I ran into two significant problems. The first is that Shopify (or whoever I used) kept randomly deleting our products without explanation. I suspect it had more to do with copyright infringement concerns than politics, but I have no way to verify this because they don't warn you or give you any kind of guidance, they just yank your products down without telling you why. If you ask their customer service department for an explanation you just get a bunch of vague, boilerplate jeetspam in response. This seems to be a pretty common problem in dealing with these types of sites, as I've heard similar complaints from other people trying to sell horse-related products.

The second problem was that nobody actually bought anything. In its entire short life, the second mlpol store made exactly two sales: one to me personally, and one to another staff member. I'm not trying to scold anyone or call anyone out, but the fact is that despite several anons clamoring for us to bring back the mlpol store, none of those users actually made a purchase once we actually did bring it back. Maybe the missing products were part of the issue, or maybe people were concerned about giving out their private info. The bottom line though is that there just wasn't enough serious interest to justify the hassle of setting up and running a store, so it's probably not something I'd do again. The guy who ran the original store shared a similar experience when I asked him about it, he said that probably about 80% of his total sales occurred within the first few months of mlpol.net being a thing. By the time he shut it down it had gone months without making a single sale.

So, as a purely money-making venture for the site, it makes no sense for us to have a store. Personally, I'd kind of like to have one just so people could own memorabilia from the site, but there's just no practical, cost-effective way to set it up and keep it going. The only way I can see is to either find a dropshipper that gives no fucks, which would probably entail dealing with someone in China or Russia or some place similarly dubious, or to make and stock our own inventory and handle the shipping ourselves. The first option would probably create a lot of undue complications, and the second would involve spending a lot of money up front, only to end up with a closet full of Aryanne t-shirts that nobody is buying.

A better way would probably just be to do what >>10739 is suggesting: make your own products and sell them yourself wherever you can, without trying to build a branded storefront. There is limited interest in mlpol as a concept at this point in time, but Aryanne in general is still well-known and popular, so maybe a single user trying to appeal to the broader 4chan side of the pony fanbase would have more luck.

Maybe you could get a store set up on aliexpress. They don't give a fuck about products with swastikas as long as you censor it in the pictures.
