Do we have any 200IQ /mu/ enjoyers in here? Currently blasting some classic Rephlex stuff on my IEMs (.flac, obviously)
I know the name of maybe 20 bands and could only name a song from half of them
My 300IQ opinion is that all music sux
Anything by Warp is good as gold. I really enjoy Chris Clark, Autechre and of course Aphex Twin. Bogdan Raczynski also seems really good, especially his EP7Envane mix. Perfect for rainy nights on the road.
>>2466I refuse to believe there are people out there who really go about their lives not enjoying music, arguably the greatest medium for human expression. I could live without ever seeing a poner again but not without music, you're not real.
>>2469IDK it's all just noise to me
What normie song would you say best encapsulates how ponies make you feel
>>2467Good stuff, have you listened to anything by Wisp, The Flashbulb or Skee Mask? Been listening to them a lot lately alongside the usual Aphex and Squarepusher which I will never get tired of.
>>2471No normie content will ever serve as a bridge for me to express my love for ponies. I don't even listen to normie shit (or at least modern normie shit) so I wouldn't really know.
>>2462>picshouldn't that whole brainchair be covered in her mane hair?
>>2474Normie as in unaffiliated with horsefuckers
>>2475I guess? But then it wouldn't be as straightforward to see she's really that smart.
>>2477I'm gonna go with an easy answer and say Rhubarb by Aphex Twin, ponies make me feel at ease.

>>2472I know I've listened to The Flashbulb before, and right now you're taking me back to the golden age that was Early Aughts Internet. I found out about this artist because of .SWFs.

What would you recommend as far as Wisp or Skee Mask? What's your favourite Squarepusher song?
>>2484holy shit where did you get yakub's baby pictures?
>>2485That EP is nice, I gotta listen to it some more, I've been shuffling through Kirlian Selections recently.
As far as Wisp and Skee Mask go, I would recommend the albums "The Shimmering Hour" and "Compro" respectively, with "Cultus Klatawa" and "Rev8617" being my favorite songs from them.
My favorite Squarepusher song is "I Wish You Could Talk" from Go Plastic, my favorite album from him.
>>2487Got drunk down the pub, had a piss in a phonebox and pissed off a nigger in a suit.
>>2494Thank you kindly for your recommendations. I knew a guy who really enjoyed Squarepusher, and I saved Stor Eiglass because he posted it one day. I also liked the music video for Come On My Selector, as it's so weird and filled to the brim with bizarre Japanese cinema madness.
>>2500No problem! Always love sharing my weird music taste with other likeminded ponies. This reminds me that I had forgotten to download Big Loada after I accidentally deleted my music library a while ago, I'm going on Soulseek right now.
>Rephlex mentioned>SQP mentionedfuck yes. I used to be a huge huge squarepusher fan and he still stands out as probably my single most intense favorite artist of all time. He opened my mind to jazz and these days I most go for jazzier, less hardcore stuff, but the jenk still holds up, especially the jazz bass stuff.
broadly speaking, without pony music exposing me to a billion different things earlier in my life, I would have such shit taste in music. very thankful.
>>2485The Swifty from Feed Me Weird Things (probably my fav squarepusher album but they're all so good)

[Embed]the intro is like two minutes long but when the actual song comes on... it just soars. I'm a dashfag and this song feels like learning to fly with her.
If you're looking for another artist with jazzy IDM chops on par with Squarepusher, well, you're gonna have a hard time. But I've found at least one:
Clifford Gilberto Rhythm Combination

I am tearing up, never had I thought I would read a sentence like this coming from another human being, thank you.
>>2515Big Loada! Of course, how could I forget. That was the first song he made that I ever listened to. After I sample your selections I want to explore Chris Clark some more.
https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Chris+clark+tedMost favourite IDM song. Funnily enough I found this through a .SWF thread as well. Body Riddle is such an amazing album.
>>2529Duly noted, listening to this right now!
>>2555Truth be told, I have not listened to much from Chris Clark, that changes today in your honor!
>>2529The Squarepusher soul inside of this... wow, thank you!
>>2561My suggestions for albums would be Body Riddle (of course,) Turning Dragon, Clarence Park and Empty the Bones of You.
One of the biggest casualties of lost media as an IDM fan is how all the exclusive tracks he released on his throttleclark website were lost. Either he lost the domain or deleted it, but I wonder if anyone from Soulseek might have them.
Winter is the time for his music. His early work was conducive to introspection, and I would light up a joint or a cig and walk around in the dark whilst indulging.
>>2581"One of the biggest casualties of lost media as an IDM fan is how all the exclusive tracks he released on his throttleclark website were lost."This, so much this, and unfortunately Chris Clark is not alone in this, how much Aphex have we lost to his deleted mySpace accounts!? I was going at length on this matter with a friend not too long ago, and while it can be disappointing at times, it's also one of the most thrilling parts of being a braindance listener, you always find some new, obscure record from your favorite artist out there, it's an infinite music glitch.
I personally find the most enjoyment in IDM when I'm working on something, it just takes me to The Zone instantly. I also prefer drinking rather than smoking, but I see where you come from.
Worakls is my goto if my head is empty but feel like needing some background music while doing something.
