thanks and hell yeah I did, been drawing a little over two years now if you want to see my progress my tags are artist:scandianon on your preferred booru. fun fact cod fish don't swim upstream another fun fact iceland is the 2nd largest exporter of fish in Europe and 18th on the global market. fair enough on the feels part though.

hell yeah brother thanks, been having fun recently with low opacity colored lines lately. decided to fuck around with redlines and it works so well with my shading that i think im gonna keep doing that.

Visited a local art market to buy some pony merch. And I made my very first attempts to paint traditionally using gouache. Pinkie was sold for 3 dollars.

I have a story in the works, knowing me it will never see the daylight, about how nightmares being a thing (that I have built bunch or lore around so it's a huge tangent) but they rule the baps underneath Canterlot, or used to. So I too like them bat ponies.

How did you develop your drawing skill? This question extends to any drawfag in the thread who wish to add their perspective btw, like I have skills I developed in the past that I no longer remember how I did it. Specifically, I wonder if you're process was mostly for fun or if you engaged in more "study" of drawing to get where you are now. Maybe a bit of both? Maybe this is a false dilemma kinda of question too, I'm certain but what I mean is that doodling can be fun, and something like outlining perspectives and drawing from them can be hard="boring". But maybe you found the harder parts fun too?

I wouldn't. 3 dollars is really fair I think. But what is not fair, the left was stolen, kinda. Anyone could take whatever they want from the table and someone took it when I was away getting fresh water. I wanted to keep it for myself.

when I first started drawing I had near boundless motivation and inspiration to draw so I dove in balls deep with a mix of studying and winging the total fuck out of it. My initial style was very show based because I studied the absolute fucking goddamn shit out of show screencaps by breaking them down into their most fundamental shapes, ie circles, then went from their studying the shapes, profiles, and faces from the show. I had fun with it though because I take a lot of joy from drawing ponies, drawing backgrounds is my main weakness I don't enjoy it nearly as much. don't shy away from studying by the way it can be fun you just gotta find the right guidance and artists to study. it needn't be a slog fest, if it is try being more loose with your references and applying basic construction to your piece and go from there, feel it out try it, fail, and learn from your mistakes and don't be scare of legitimate criticism. in my first year alone I drew 238 images, in the subsequent year I drew 269 images, drawing that much alone will make you improve substantially. I also switched styles about three times before coming to where I fall now. by the way I have aphantasia.
TL:DR draw nigga draw! just look at the show and copy that till you understand it then make adjustments and changes from there taking inspiration from artist's you like.

Maybe not a great story, but I just got gud at it. I don't draw that often, it was never fun to draw, nor I studied it hard. It takes time, but I get the results I want.

Wanted to ask other more experienced drawfrens how long would take to make something like this. Also I developed a way to work that is making a rough version of the idea, resize when is necessary, create a new layer with more refined details, repeat two times and it's done. Do you think is a shitty way to create something or is somehow normal and with time it's gonna get easier and quicker?

How to improve mare? Tail looks bad and I'm not sure about body length and neck. Left legs are missing somewhat intentionally.
