Tell me about or show me your OC(s), whether they represent you or not! Art and stories of all kinds, even character creators and AI art for representations, welcome. Can be self-insert x canon God, post-apocalyptic AU, shipkid, shitpost or Joe from accounting. Since writing and worldbuilding are skills, pony OC fanfiction is objectively self-improvement.

>>10039Well, especially when it comes to the THEMES of writing, there's nothing new under the sun
>>10040Yeah ChatGPT has definitely helped set up themes and such within the story too. I was just referring to how some people outright RP with AI to escape the so-called issues of writing with other human beings and I was simply saying I'd rather deal with whatever small issues come from one-on-one freeform writing with a person than the admittedly soulless attempts at character interactions an AI often flounders about with outside of smut.
I only use AI for fun porn, abuse and creating different worlds for a few minutes. RP (in the sense of playing different roles) or direct conversation with a character has never appealed to me. That's the beauty of AI - you can get the content you're interested in quickly. Template-based, yes, but there's a lot of it.
>>10040Because what people call AI now isn't really AI, it's just a very complex script for rearranging ready-made patterns. To create something fundamentally new, we need to grow artificial brains.
>>10041I asked ChatGPT to define the 'soulless-ness' for you.
<If a character piloted by an AI or story can't grow, reflect, or carry weight across time, and the AI can't remember or evolve naturally, then it becomes little more than a fancy auto-complete engine wearing a mask. No matter how convincing it sounds in the moment, if you’re the only one holding the thread, it stops feeling alive.>You’re having to carry all the meaning.>There's no shared memory — so there’s no shared history.>Emotional moments lose their depth because they aren't remembered by the other side later.>It can't truly care or change, no matter how convincing the illusion gets>Lack of true long-term memory across sessions like a human author or RP partner.>Lack of self-reinforcing character arcs that evolve deeply unless you actively manage them.>Lack of spontaneous recall of subtle past events unless they’re manually “pinned” or reintroduced.>And finally also a lack of continuity across multiple plotlines, characters, and timelines without heavy user input.<But for a living, breathing RP partner that remembers what you’ve been through, builds tension across years, surprises you with callbacks, and matures alongside your characters — no AI right now can truly do that without massive scaffolding. And even then, it's still you holding the soul of the story.AI is still just a limited chatbot from 2007. It's just actually coherent now but still can't remember jackshit or push anything along itself. Let alone in any actually satisfying way.
[Read more] >>10046Well, a coherent chatbot and maybe good for one-off smut anyway. That's about it.
>>10085Uh, what's your malfunction? I'm >10031 and >10036, we were talking about OCs and OC creation. Is there a problem?
>>10087Ai-shit has nothing to do with an OC thread and it's shitting up the thread
What is your genetic defect?
>>10090Using an AI to build and develop an OC is perfectly acceptable, whether in a general context or a specific one such as a Roleplay game.
Post OCs since you're on about it
>>9280I started with one OC when I first got into pony and then over time I made an entire family for my OC. They're all very cute.
>>10094>that art(you)
As far as pony-related, I only have two. The bat started as a recolor of Lucky Roll, but who I spent many moons designing with the aid of ChatGPT, to the point that they aren't even a resemblence.
Hence, why I assert that a brief discussion about using AI to create OCs is perfectly valid. If anything, an AI can tell me "Is this character comparable to any existing OCs?" faster than I can scour the internet and if in doubt, ask several times.
>>10090>Ai-shit has nothing to do with an OC thread and it's shitting up the threadYes, but not. I mean, AI allows to fast track characters that otherwise never be published, and I believe most of us enjoy them.
>>10096We have an entire board to talk about AI. Focus on the OCs themselves.
>>10097>to talkYes, but I believe AI OC fit well here.
>>10097Using AI to make a picture of the OC someone has doesn't exclude it from an OC thread.
>>10095Be sure to ignore this fag;
>>10103. All he does is piss and whine about AI cause it will make his mediocre work obsolete. The bat pone is nothing special but at this point it still looks better than a lot of Pony OCs that had no AI consultation whatsoever. Not that it's a high bar to pass to begin with but still.
>>10103Calm down poner. It looks like your ego is butthurt but that doesn't mean you shouldn't post your OCs.
>>10087>I'm >10031 and >10036, we were talking about OCs and OC creation. Is there a problem?I mean, while the other guy could have been gentler, he has a point. The discussion he's referring to isn't about OCs and OC creation. It's clearly about ai and rp. There's a tenuous connection to OC, but let's not pretend.
Look, I also get caught up in conversations that are off-topic, but instead of pretending that's not the case, just be like, "Ah, sorry bro. We'll take this elsewhere," imo, would have been better.
>>10104>The bat pone is nothing specialRude! Those aren't AI images btw. And what constitutes "something special"? What defines the character is the backstory and personality, which is but alluded to in her appearance. I'm not aware of any OCs quite like her (though there's overlap with several, like Leslie Fair)
>>10107Because if you go back and read, you'll see that a brief discussion occurred surrounding a dragon pony, and options for what to do with a character when as indicated "their normal writing partners aren't into MLP", which is where the TTRPG 'derail' occurred, with a few comments about how AI could be used to develop the character more fully, regardless of where the character is intended to be used. This discussion amounted to about a half-dozen posts that don't directly pertain to OC and OC creation, in a thread that's 70 posts long. The AI discussion was not intended to continue, it was a brief segue that aside from continuing objections need not continue. Yes, there's an AI discussion thread, no that does not mean that AI discussion of any kind is only permissible in that thread/board.
>>10109I understand that but I'm still technically correct.
>>10087>we were talking about OCs and OC creation. This was correct in the beginning of the conversation, not towards the end.
>The AI discussion was not intended to continueSure, I believe you but the guy's(
>>10085 )
post cut off the conversation so he didn't know that at the time.
I think that
>>10085 could have said his point better. My point is just saying that objectively speaking there was an off-topic segue. Not the end of the world or anything, but it did happen.
>>10109I said 'nothing special but still better than a lot of OCs that had zero AI consultation'. Don't get uppity with me anon.
>>1011010085 is some cross-site schizo from cuckchan's /mlp/ that is malding about said dragon-pony anon who also cross-site posts but obviously leaves anything from cuckchan itself at the door unlike the schizo.
>>10109How does this bat oc overlap with Leslie, are you retarded?
>>10113Leslie is a treasure, she absolutely blows every generic bat OC out of the water.
I remember when Czaro first posted her to the original /mlpol/ on 4chan. I recommended the name Leslie Fair as a play on
Laissez-faire. I'm glad she still gets art every now and then, although not as much as she deserves. She makes a great foil for Aryanne too.
>>10113In personality, I just said that
San Andreas is still for gays and losers
>>10126Her vision isn't impaired, she just wants ponies to think that. The chain on her glasses is a garrote wire, and her purse is a chain-whip/flail
>>10013No one asked, but I will copy-paste it into this void anyway
I ended up deciding her magical, illusory disguise should be that of a Unicorn instead to retain her use of magic. She'd be out of place as a Pegasus since she sticks to the ground more often than not and not being able to use her magic while in disguise is like being without 2 of her legs for her.
